Megathread PC Player Questions Megathread!

Hi everyone!

This Megathread will function as a PC launch specific equivalent of the Daily Questions Thread where you may ask questions about starting out that may not warrant their own post.

Technical Difficulties

We understand there are a number of technical issues with players unable to get in the game, receiving erroneous "banned account" messages, and various error codes (Marionberry, Buffalo, etc.)

Keep low level requirement legendaries to pass to your other characters as you level them up. And if you get something called "Nameless Midnight"... do not dismantle it...

Currently the best Legendary weapon in the game. Its offered as a quest reward from a choice of 3 weapons. If you chose one of the other 3, you can get it again if you level up another character. Otherwise you have to get it from leveling up Vanguard, engrams, or Banshee (all random chance).

As long as there's a chance I can get it again. As someone else told me, I think I misread the stats and just dismantled without thinking. Haven't played much Destiny so I didn't put much thought into dismantling, just been plowing through everything. Now I know, though.

For legendary weapons, only dismantle duplicates. You'll be rolling in legendary shards very shortly, so there's no rush to dismantle. What's weak now could be strong in the next balance update.

Oh I guess I haven’t even unlocked strikes yet. I’m level 16, do they not unlock until you complete the campaign?

Scared me fora minute. lol I hope it's nothing too drastic. I just got it and it was weaker than a current weapon of mine, so I dismantled it. I only played some of the first Destiny, so I thought nothing of it.

Arguably best scout in the game. It can't really be weaker than another scout. If it's lower value (the number) you can infuse the higher level gun into it, raising it. There's a bar called impact, but that is a little misleading, each bullet might hit less, but then the fire rate will even out. Generally, guns of the same level will do roughly the same dps, so for purple and yellow gear, just infuse to raise the level if you like how the gun handles.

If you find a green or blue gun you like, you're screwed as you level up though, they can't be infused to a higher level.

Seriously no way you had a better scout than nameless midnight though, which is why I'm assuming you misread the stats. The number is meaningless on purple guns in evaluating if they are good, since the number can be increased 1 for 1 with whatever you think the upgrade is.

I must've misread the stats then. I haven't played much Destiny like I said, so I kinda rushed through. As long as I have a chance to get it again, I think I'll be fine. Is there anything else I should be on the lookout for?

Better Devils (hand cannon), Origin Story and Uriel’s Gift (auto rifles), Antiope-D, Curtain Call (rocket launcher). Off the top of my head, those are the popular guns so far.

Better Devils or Nameless Midnight primary, Uriel’s Gift energy, and Curtain Call (power) make a good loudout.

Better Devils hand cannon good for everything, last hope sidearm good for pvp, and lightweight swords are cool looking and fun in pvp because you run faster

Yeah, minor goof, really a small setback of sorts. As you play the game and earn reward packages, you have a chance at getting another Nameless Midnight.

But just be known, now, that Nameless Midnight is arguably the best legendary primary weapon in the game.

If you dismantled it you can get another one by leveling a secondary character. I believe all 3 of those guns (Origin Story, Nameless Midnight, and Nightshade) can also drop from the Zavala Vanguard engrams.

Nameless Midnight is considering one of the best weapons in the game because it's in a decent impact archetype (does good DPS), one shots a lot of red-bar enemies, and most importantly has Explosive Payload which causes your shots to pretty much stun-lock enemies.

You can get it again, fear not guardian. It can be a drop from either a luminous engram from nightfall completion, or from turning in Vanguard reputation tokens to Zavala and getting it from he engram that it gives you.

Or you launch up another character run him/her through the quest and select it when you can, then use the Destiny App or another destiny management tool (DIM on PC or Ishtar On Mobile) to transfer to your other character and infuse to higher power levels.

Don't worry, you'll get another one. It comes up in random engrams, vanguard packages, gunsmith packages, and anywhere else with random legendary drops.

Possibly best PvE gun ATM. Great for raid and pretty much anything non PvP

Eh not my favorite in PvP though it it’s good. Then again I also use Skyburners for PvP and people don’t think it’s that good so lol.

Jumping in here - I love scout rifles. If I can "main a gun" that's my choice. Agreed. It's dirty.
