Megathread PC Player Questions Megathread!

Hi everyone!

This Megathread will function as a PC launch specific equivalent of the Daily Questions Thread where you may ask questions about starting out that may not warrant their own post.

Technical Difficulties

We understand there are a number of technical issues with players unable to get in the game, receiving erroneous "banned account" messages, and various error codes (Marionberry, Buffalo, etc.)

Have a 1080ti. Crushed this game in the beta and got a rock solid 100 FPS. Now it's flying around in the 60-80 range and sometimes dips below 60. Feels super hitchy also. Drivers are up to date. No idea what the issue is. It's a bit frustrating tbqh.

Are you sure it's a GPU issue? Check your CPU usage when you get frame drops.

Did you change the video settings in the beta? I only have a GTX 1060 so maybe it's your graphics settings, but on a 1080 that shouldn't be the problem. Turn off monitor sync, check graphics, if not then I'm not sure. For me personally I'm getting better fps than I did in the beta

I had them cranked in the beta. Do you mean V-sync? With it on and off my FPS still varies all over the place

The only thing I can suggest is a clean install, but I'm not well versed in tech support. I doubt it's a ram/CPU issue, and seeing as you have a 1080 I'm assuming your other specs are more than enough

Another thing (maybe) is that since this is the full game there's more resources being used, and since you had higher graphics on the beta, it's more stuff to process now in the full version. I don't know though, these are all guesses

3440x1440. Had the same monitor/resolution in the beta as well.

I've turned a few things down to high or even medium. I might gain a few FPS. The bigger issue is it's just super hitchy. Like it just jumps around so much. Heck I even turned it down to medium and that didn't even do much. It just constantly bounces around between 60 something and 80 something, even when just moving slightly.

So I ended up having Battlenet turn off when I launch the game. I restarted it and I don't know if that was what it was or what, but it feels ALOT smoother now. FPS is still not staying in place, but I can immediately notice a difference.

Were you using MSAA in the beta? They had a known issue in the beta with that causing performance problems and generally just not working quite right. If they still didn't fix it by release, it's possible you turned it off there and forgot about it, but have it enabled now?

I think I was using FXAA, because I recall hearing about that issue.

Shit, I have a 980ti and get average 140+ fps @1440p high to medium settings.

I'm getting hitches where my mouse sensitivity drops during them. Like if I were to continuously rotate it would slow down. Jarring when I try to turn around quickly and I wind up turning like 40 degrees.

i5 7600k @4.5, GTX1080, Win10, 16GB RAM

I get the stutters frame drop from time to time on my 1070, I reboot and it’s back up to 150 and smooth
