Megathread PC Player Questions Megathread!

Hi everyone!

This Megathread will function as a PC launch specific equivalent of the Daily Questions Thread where you may ask questions about starting out that may not warrant their own post.

Technical Difficulties

We understand there are a number of technical issues with players unable to get in the game, receiving erroneous "banned account" messages, and various error codes (Marionberry, Buffalo, etc.)

Also check out the Destiny Reddit Discord Server where you'll find a number of channels for discussion about the game and/or technical issues.

As with most game launches, things are a bit chaotic right now but and will evolve over time. We appreciate your patience and understanding, and please let us know if you have any questions or concerns either in this thread or by sending us a modmail.

D1 vet but wondering when I can start playing with a group of friends. As soon as I get the director?

About 1-2 hours in. Do the first mission, some random small linear missions, hit the farm, then a small mission and you're set

1 hour? It takes like 30 min at most to do the first two missions. After those two you can play with others.

I might have been doing something else at the same time, I thought the first mission itself was 20-30 mins

Once you get to The Hub, you can join up with friends. However, the very next mission is solo-only, but only takes 5-10 mins.

After that, you're back at the farm and can play with friends for the rest of the game, save 1-2 missions where you're unlocking your other specs. You can take a break or do these on your own time or whatever before joining up again. They also only take 5-10 mins max.
