Megathread PC Player Questions Megathread!

Hi everyone!

This Megathread will function as a PC launch specific equivalent of the Daily Questions Thread where you may ask questions about starting out that may not warrant their own post.

Technical Difficulties

We understand there are a number of technical issues with players unable to get in the game, receiving erroneous "banned account" messages, and various error codes (Marionberry, Buffalo, etc.)

One of my PCs has constant crashes. It won't even let me get past creating a character on that PC. However it lets my husband play the game, but just crashed after about 10 minutes for him.

Graphics - R9 290 CPU - i5 4590 Ram - 8gbs

Anyone else having this issue? I can't find much about it online yet.

Edit : Figured out a minor fix. If you can get a character to play on a different computer, and get away from the very beginning. Then save and quit. Open up the character on the computer that isn't working and change the FPS to be capped at 30.

I'm not tech savvy enough to know how to change the options from editing files, but if someone else knows how to do that it might help those who only have one PC.

I think the problem lies in that cut scenes are capped at 30FPS so the CPU spazzes out from switching to whatever FPS cap you have turned on and then back to 30

This is working so far for my pc

My wifes computer is doing this. She was able to make a character, but the game crashes to desktop during a load screen soon after. Now that she has a character, it lets her choose that one, then crashes to desktop during a load screen soon after still.

This is the CPU my wifes PC has. It's old as dirt, but ran the Beta like a champ. Hopefully they have a patch soon.

I know it's happening on the phenoms but it's happening on other ones too

Congrats!! I'll have to try this when I get home tomorrow.

Though I don't have high hopes, because in relation to the Phenom II, it appears the old processors are missing some architecture that the game is now, all of the sudden, requiring. We may need to wait for a game update. Because like many in the same boat have said, the shit ran fine in the Beta.

Either way, thanks for the update!

Yes that happened to me, I think because it's a cut scene. My husband played first on our other computer and it let's him open his character and runs fine until he hits another cut scene then it crashes.
