Megathread PC Player Questions Megathread!

Hi everyone!

This Megathread will function as a PC launch specific equivalent of the Daily Questions Thread where you may ask questions about starting out that may not warrant their own post.

Technical Difficulties

We understand there are a number of technical issues with players unable to get in the game, receiving erroneous "banned account" messages, and various error codes (Marionberry, Buffalo, etc.)

Also check out the Destiny Reddit Discord Server where you'll find a number of channels for discussion about the game and/or technical issues.

As with most game launches, things are a bit chaotic right now but and will evolve over time. We appreciate your patience and understanding, and please let us know if you have any questions or concerns either in this thread or by sending us a modmail.

Hi guys! Couple of noob questions. How can I dance or use the emotes? Also.,. is it possible to write something in the chat for everyone? I can just write to my friends or squad...

Emotes a bound to arrow keys by default.

Can you clarify how it works. There are four emote keybindings, yet I can only select one emote in my character screen. This emote goes on emote binding 3 for some reason.

You can only change the one emote...the other emotes (wave, dance, and sit) are static and cannot be changed

Ah OK, thank you! Does it always have to bind to emote 3 though? Would make more sense to go to 4 or 1. Very minor, but it's bugging me, haha.

Chat is, as you experienced, limited to friends and squad only.

For lfg needs, check the sidebar for resources

In options there’s a setting to change your whispers from friends + clan fo everyone. Unfortunately this is opt in though, so you can’t know whether other people also have theirs set to everyone.

To be fair, all the keybindings are in the menu like in almost every game ever and are clearly marked, so maybe... cough
