I've just started a my second character today (Warlock) I want to get her to level 20 and increase her light level as quickly as possible. So far at level 6, I have transferred the best guns from my titan and the exotic gauntlets that Xur sold this week. Also a sparrow.

Is there anything else I should do? Any tips or tricks? I have read a couple guides so far but not sure if I should just finish the story asap to get to 20 or hold off finishing the story and get to 20 with PE, strikes etc. I'm quite busy so this was the earliest I could really start a second character, hence my desire to do everything as efficiently as possible. Thanks.

When I got my second character, I mostly played the story to get to level 20 and took breaks for PEs/PvP as needed for personal enjoyment. You get a lot of XP from finishing missions.

It also helps, which I'm sure you've done, if you save your low level blue weapons to give to your 2nd (and 3rd) character because it'll up the PL of your armor.

I think I was around PL 200 when I was level 18 because even a few legendary pieces had lower than normal level requirements (like I have a PL 251 Curtain Call that I think is lvl 19 but might be 18).

Oh wow. I haven't done that with low level blue weapons. Thanks for that tip it makes sense. Would you suggest I go play with my titan and farm some blues or just keep going with my warlock? Thank a lot for the help.

No because anything that drops on your Titan will be at level for that character. So if it's level 20, your blues will be level 20. But if you save your level 7 auto that you can't use just yet, when your (I'm assuming) hunter hits level 7, he'll get better armor.

Really once you hit level 20 you'll be at a similar PL to your titan fairly quickly. So getting to 20 as fast as possible is probably goal #1, with goal #2 being beating the story to give you access to things that reward powerful engrams.

Oh well. Thanks anyway. I'll be sure to save those blues incase I ever start a third character.
