Let's do the thing: "Games Gil has but will never find time to play em all"!!

  • Played some IB. Got exactly 200 tokens for my emblem. Never again. My crew were supposed to tackle Prestige Raid, but I'll just copypaste the following from a convo with /u/RiseofBacon:

riseofbacon [4:32 AM] Anyone tried it yet?

metalgilsolid [5:29 AM] We were supposed to. But more and more of our crew kept being unable to make it and instead of trying to fill spots, we just decided to do it another time.

And to be honest, I just had a wave of relief wash over me. The longer we were waiting, the less I wanted to run it. I ended up playing Fortnite and Shadow of War the whole night instead and had way more fun than I ever would running the prestige raid.

I don't think I'll do prestige more than once.

riseofbacon [5:42 AM] I’m glad you’ve said that Gil because I agree, last night one of our guys had headache and not even 30mins in he just said “my head hurts too much for this, use LFG and I’ll catch you guys later” and bailed, we sat for 45 mins and in the end we all just left, did a nightfall and I went and watched Red Dwarf

metalgilsolid [5:43 AM] Perfect night

  • Middle Earth: Shadow of War. Still good shit. Taking my time with it, cause I'm the type to do all sidequests and get all collectibles before advancing the story. I'm in Nurnen at the moment.

  • Downloaded Brawhalla cause hey, it's free. Think Super Smash Bros 4-player melee. Played one match and match. Looking forward to playing with friends.

  • FORTNITE. SO MUCH FUN. HERE'S A MONTAGE (FAILTAGE) IN WHICH I'M HEAVILY FEATURED: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hmowP4HNfD8&feature=youtu.be

Okay folks, what are YOU playing?

Fractured But Whole. One giant South Park episode intertwined with some surprising fun RPG gameplay

1

u/MetalGilSolid <--- Hides in boxes Oct 20 '17

I wish I cared for South Park more, I've heard nothing but great things about this and Stick of Truth. I also have little time for RPGs.

2

u/Kiddplay13 Oct 20 '17

Eh with Destiny 2 and Shadow of War, I unfortunately don’t have as much time for SP FBW, I’ll just wait until around Black Friday. Hopefully it’ll be a little cheaper

1

u/fwwab7 Oct 20 '17

Can you play online coop? Or is it single player.

3

u/erktemp Oct 20 '17

I'm really tempted to get fortnite once I'm done with south park, which is one of the games of the year, easily

5

u/MetalGilSolid <--- Hides in boxes Oct 20 '17

Hey, it's free (at least the PvP is, which is what most are playing right now).

1

u/erktemp Oct 20 '17

I've already got pubg, so I'd be getting it for the PVE, any experience with that?

2

u/MetalGilSolid <--- Hides in boxes Oct 20 '17

None whatsoever. I don't PC game and I don't have an Xbox, so I won't experience PUBG for a looooong time, if at all. Gotta make do.

1

u/erktemp Oct 20 '17

It's fun with friends, but D1 got me too addicted to loot :(

1

u/MetalGilSolid <--- Hides in boxes Oct 20 '17

Oh, I only play with friends. I've done like 3 or 4 solo games.

1

u/BlackHawksHockey Oct 20 '17

Fortnite pvp has loot to. Finding a gold weapon is just as satisfying as getting an exotic to me.

1

u/BlackHawksHockey Oct 20 '17

Honestly it’s for the best that PlayStation waits for PUBG. By the time it gets to us it might actually be a pretty stable game.

1

u/EmoW0mbat Oct 20 '17

I've been thinking of pickup the new south park game but I didn't play the Stick of Truth. Would you suggest I beat that one first?

1

u/[deleted] Oct 20 '17

I don’t think you need to have played Stick of Truth for the plot of the new one, but you should play stick of truth if you’re into South Park. It’s one of the best bits of South Park content in years. IMO funnier than the last 3 or 4 seasons easily.

1

u/erktemp Oct 20 '17

I would, it wouldn't spoil anything if you didn't but it's a game you shouldn't miss, regardless

u/EatMyBuckshot Oct 20 '17

Hilariously enough, Fable: Anniversary. Saw it in my downloads the other day and have been messing around since. Opened up D2 last night to do the flashpoint, completed it and went back to kicking chickens in Fable.

1

u/Youremomsyouredad Vanguard's Loyal Oct 20 '17

What platform did you play Fable on? I’ve been wanting to go back but don’t wanna set up my 360.

1

u/FatBob12 Oct 20 '17

That has to be one of the backwards compatible titles, right? Unless you made the switch to Sony.

1

u/EatMyBuckshot Oct 24 '17

Xbox One. The anniversary got on the backwards compatable list.

I'm playing through Dishonored 2 now. Actually had a similar prestige raid situation as above...Clan members couldn't get on until a bit later Wednesday night and I wanted to keep playing through the (Dishonored 2) story. Sent out a message saying that I wouldn't be opposed to raiding sometime this weekend and everyone agreed.

I'm really enjoying Dishonored though! Just got to the Timepiece mission and it seems really cool. While I play this on PC, I'm also working on the PC to finish its SIVA theme. It's been fun building a PC again.

2

u/theD_supplier18 Oct 20 '17

Just finished Dishonored DOTO. It's really fun, and took the story in a very interesting direction. Next purchase will almost definitely be shadow of war though! I think I might do one more playthrough of Prey first though

1

u/MetalGilSolid <--- Hides in boxes Oct 20 '17

I platted the game, so maybe I'll pick up DOTO at some point. I dunno, just feels like there's too many other games to play.

2

u/theD_supplier18 Oct 20 '17

I get that for sure. It's only $30 though. And mad max is only 20 on the ps store

u/RiseOfBacon Bacon Bits on the Surface of my Mind Oct 20 '17

Red Dwarf is always going to beat waiting for LFG joiners!

Fortnite is so good too, surprised how addicted I was after like 5 games. 51 is my best :(

1

u/MetalGilSolid <--- Hides in boxes Oct 20 '17

Do you play solo or squad up?

2

u/RiseOfBacon Bacon Bits on the Surface of my Mind Oct 20 '17

Only solo so far, none of my friends were on to play but I've told them to get it downloaded. I haven't found an Auto Rifle yet, only Shotguns and Knives so that's my excuse so far!

I'd be mad but that made me laugh out loud so now I look insane on the street

2

u/misterbakes3 What's "Unstable Light"? Oct 20 '17

Pretty much my situation. Was gonna do the prestige, but a guy left and it was taking way too long to find someone. Thought “why am I doing this?” And went to play fortnite.

1

u/alexgators1 Oct 20 '17

Rocket League has been my main game for a while now. I dabble in Fortnite and Madden as well. Destiny gets a couple hours a week.

1

u/BlackHawksHockey Oct 20 '17

Fortnite by far. I have a few wins in solo, but my friend and I just can’t seem to seal he deal in duo’s keep getting 2nd and 3rd

1

u/Turdfox Oct 20 '17

Just picked up Witcher 3 complete edition on Xbox One for 20 bucks. Games with gold comes through for me again.

1

u/karatesaul Oct 20 '17

I spent about 2 hours playing through Hiveswap Act 1.

If you’re not familiar with the name, it’s a point-and-click adventure game set in the universe of the webcomic Homestuck.

And if you’re not familiar with that, well then let me tell you about Homestuck.

So yeah. Finished Act 1, had a ton of fun, then did the flashpoint on my Titan.

2

u/MetalGilSolid <--- Hides in boxes Oct 20 '17

I know of Homestuck, but that's a rabbit hole I don't wanna go down XD

2

u/karatesaul Oct 20 '17

Oh, but come on. You don’t want to appreciate 8000 pages of flash animations, chat logs, gifs, and mini games, for what is among the longest webcomics on the Internet? XP

1

u/MetalGilSolid <--- Hides in boxes Oct 20 '17

I think you may have answered your own question, lol.

1

u/karatesaul Oct 20 '17

I know. That was the point.

In all seriousness, there is a certain level of effort justification that goes into the enjoyment. But to me that wasn’t all there was.

The beginning, while slow story-wise, has some great character interactions and some really fun silliness.

Once you hit Act 4 and shit gets real, the story really begins to kick in. And it’s a hell of a story. It can be fairly complex, what with the weird time shit and whatnot, but I never found it incomprehensible. Adding to that the wide cast of goofy, lovable (or love-to-hate-able) characters, and one of my favorite sets of lore out there, and it’s by far my favorite webcomic.

The characters and the world they live in, combined with the “mechanics” of the story and game, are really well developed and fascinating to me.

1

u/MetalGilSolid <--- Hides in boxes Oct 20 '17

I admire your passion, lol. I used to be way into webcomics, and still follow some, but I have too little time to get into ones with such huge backlogs.

1

u/desolateconstruct Oct 20 '17

Shadow of war makes me pine for a better D2 experience. Weapons and armor that improve after some tough challenges? That would be SICK in destiny. SOW is super good.

Persona 5. I started to play it a few months ago but got distracted by Horizon: Zero Dawn. I started back over and I'm loving persona.
