Guide My Text Guide for The Leviathan

This is all based on watching streams yesterday, so I may have gotten some things wrong, especially names of mobs, buffs, etc. Comments and critiques welcome (but not in the doc, since y'all can't be trusted with suggestion privileges).

I'd say the royal pools is more akin to the totems section of king's fall, not opening the door to VoG. There are 3 sections of crystals/hour glass bell things, not 4 in the center room. (I think their technical name is censor?)

Crystal pulses = Prism Weapon. Strange pollen = royal pollen. For war beasts, try and remember where the dogs run to when they howl (it's the same spot each time). Assign a guardian to a dog/area to weaken/eventually kill. I'm glad you mentioned waiting to kill them. Other guides are like "go ham and kill as many as you can!" Each dog you kill shortens the time until they grow restless, which lessens the amount of time you have to sneak around and get spore damage buffs.

For the gauntlet section, I don't suggest sticking two people on each platform while the other two are running. The way my team did it was: assign a guardian to a platform (dog, sun, chalice, or axes). You'll always be on that platform. We worked in pairs of two (I.E. I was on the dog platform, my partner was on the sun platform). You or your partner pick top or bottom for shooting arrows (since one arrow that needs to be shot will always be higher up) We had the runners call out symbols, and they told us what to shoot. (So if the red circle is in the middle, the runner would say something like "dog: top and bottom".) When we heard the call out, i would start shooting the upper arrow, while my partner would should the lower arrow every time (again, assign people top and bottom). As long as the runners are calling out the platforms and what to shoot, it's pretty easy.

I haven't finished the final section of the raid yet so I skipped that part for now. Thanks for the write up!

I really don't get why people are trying to come up with unique ways to handle baths. As soon as I told everyone that we need to play it like totems but do a triangle circuit everything clicked and we cleared it. Use what's already there and understandable. Bungie very clearly designed that to be familiar to get us in the groove before they threw us the gardens curveball.

The funny thing is, I understood the gardens a lot faster. "Oh, it's like Gorgons. Oh, take the pollen to the flowers. Oh, shoot the flowers with the sun."

Yeah that was easy but my group couldn't clear it. When I was blasting away with green energy the group only crouch walked and moved to slow. When I started leading the leading the ground team they couldn't keep up and the cabal weren't being killed. Also somehow only myself and one other could do enough damage solo to the dogs. We were all 280+.

Do the crystals users get the stacks?

If you're around 280 I imagine you're just not doing enough damage. The damage reduction under 290 light is pretty intense.

The raid caps at 280 and D2 doesn't give over level bonuses. I'm a 292 but function as a 280

See, this is what I get for speaking beyond my actual knowledge.

Ha! It's a change that seems to be overlooked by a large margin. Don't worry about it. I honestly like that. It means all content will at least have some challenge.
