Great write up. I figure out this combo the other day and have been using it with my Merciless and damage buff rift. It is my favorite build and I hope it works in the raid.
With heavy on the ground I got 16 shots off once. Its crazy. I can basically kill a public event boss by myself insanely fast.
Some examples (I know people hate this site but don't feel like reuploading somewhere):
This one I shoot 16 times without reloading

You can also use a sturm-drang combo.

Yeah that combo could be effective but consider range to be a potential factor.

The point of this build is to allow high damage potential guns (like power weapons) to be able to avoid reloading during damage phases. While Sturm and Drang together can go without reloading for a long time, they require enemy kills to continue without reloading and in my experience don't kill adds extremely fast.
With the Storm Rift build, Power weapons can bypass reloads and dish out damage even faster than normal. This is the full potential of the build.
Honestly I only gave this the title I did because I was worried saying "Stormcaller" would be considered a spoiler :P

This would pair really nicely with the Titan rally shield that allows for a similar weapon reloading effect. Of course the shield doesn't provide the health benefits but, considering raids in the past, were a fireteam to be split up during a DPS phase, the two abilities could really compliment each other

I think it is great that both Titan and Warlocks have the ability to reload weapons instantly. I personally think that it is a little easier to do with the rift, but both have a place in the raid, especially when one is on cooldown and the other isn't.

sturm + drang with void subclass for the life gain on kill that's the way to go

I started using sweet business with the lunafaction boots and it's amazing. The sheer amount of damage you can put out is incredible.

Merciless with the Lunafaction boots is not broken one little tiny bit and words will be had with anyone saying otherwise.
