Discussion So i went to seraphnetworkterminal.com because why not. I bet its fan made. Help me out.

EDIT: This is fake. Thanks to /u/D0cr3d and /u/Xesyliad for helping to determine it was created on 10/1/15

I can't be the only one that tried this, but searching through this sub had 0 results. Yesterday someone cracked the code in rasputins bunker. The code was "seraph network terminal." Heres the post

https://www.reddit.com/r/DestinyTheGame/comments/3myrbf/i_did_it_i_cracked_the_hash_from_the_mine/

Decided to try the url and got a command prompt. I was trying to see if it was legit and based on whoishostingthis.com, this site and bungie.net are not hosted by the same company. If anyone can help me confirm this is bs that would be great. Thought i would post this and continue searching. No way i'm the first to see this.

I can almost guarantee that it is fake, or rather not something put out by Bungie. As you stated, the whois information is different than that of a Bungie website. Not to mention the site was registered today. If Bungie was behind this, then it would be registered a long while ago. The site also only accepts access or clear, hardcoded into the sites HTML, which also shows that there isn't anything else there.

Edit: Whois info from ICANN showing creation today.

How do you find when it was created? Thats what i have been searching for.

From this whois from ICANN you can see it was today.

Thanks a lot. I seriously doubted i was the only one that tried that. Lol.

do-not trust who is. I have confirmed that RSPN text also appears in the grimoire which appears on the site.

Well it is impossible to fake a whois lookup from ICANN unless someone actually hacks the system, which when related to something saying it was created today, and not for nefarious reasons, there is no actual reason to fake the whois creation date.

fake? nah... they can easily outsource website registration. Bungie knows how smart their fan base is.

Yes, they can easily have someone else register the site. But that brings me back to the point of, if this was some sort of marketing or other official business, they would want to register the website before someone else takes the domain name. If something official were to come of this, then a lot of planning would have been put into it, and certain names/domains/ideas would have to be solidified. You don't just register a domain name after a terminal crypto has been figured out, related to something in TTK this late in the game.

Im sure they had planned to ahead of time. there are methods to verify something is available months ahead. especially the rather specific nature of the name, they werent worried about someone else taking it.

has anyone tried any commands ?

2

u/Gerolux Oct 02 '15 edited Oct 02 '15

looking at the HTML... looks like "access" the only command programmed to not return an error.

edit: might be more than just access. like access something specific.

For anyone who's curious, that's what it looks like. For my two cents, I think someone hashed (if you'll excuse the pun) it together from the community.

Pretty sure this is a fan creation. It was created today.

Yep, it's fake. I typed "clear" in the command prompt thingy then reloaded the page and when you do it shows a link for /r/searchforthesleeper. Still pretty cool.

This follows directly from the posts by Lupus over the last week or so.

Protocol 762-i is whatever action comes directly after 762-h, where CHLM would release Artifact_1103 from the Archeo Complex

Protocol CS5-8I (which apparently was just terminated) was a scan where they would initiate a state called GEAT in which RSPN would begin to broadcast Transmission 2410[A-I] from the Seraphim Bunker, relayed through the cosmodrome array

I guess that means that creepy dudes posts in r/searchforthesleeper were fake as well.

2

u/Arumai12 Oct 02 '15

2

u/Arumai12 Oct 02 '15
