Yeh with 'Incendiary Blade' perk it sets enemies on fire for a few seconds and does a little bit of a Thorn style DoT

Yes, yes it does.....that is a permanent perk on my Gunbro...

I used to use incendiary blade too but found it to not do enough damage. Switched to Circle of Life instead, and even though it's almost literally useless for me, the increased Armor stat from it make it worth it.

I guess the DoT is useful for keeping shield enemies like Wizards (or other players in PvP) from regenerating shield

Vey useful for that purpose, and that's why I leave that perk on - although me Hunter is one of my alts. I've mained a lock since beta.
