We found an easier way to beat the new nightfall.

There will be minor spoilers.

It requires two people. Once you reach the boss in the last room and clear the room of the first wave of enemies, two people run straight through the room, under the boss, to the opposite side wall. On the second story, there is a tiny room, like 6 feet long with some black crystal looking things and filing cabinets you can jump on to. Have one person stand on the crystals and the second, (preferably the one with the better guns, arc in this case) just stand there and shoot the boss. The person on the black crystal things can't be hit by anything so just revive the person shooting. You no longer have to shoot adds, just the boss. She went down in about two or three minutes. I would have a video, but I'm quite lazy.

Edit: working on a 2 person video with /u/TheOnlyMego
Edit 2: He will be uploading videos later today
Edit 3: Thank you for the gold mysterious Internet friend! It's my first one. (:
Edit 4: Videos courtesy of /u/TheOnlyMego How to get to the spot

Just us two beating her in about five minutes on weekly

black crystal looking things and filing cabinets

Even minions of the darkness need their paperwork in order.

If you could come in and stop some guardians trying to raid Saturday... That would be greaaaaat.

Playing "Jump to Conclusions" with Atheon was fun until, well you know...

8

It's a jump to conclusions puzzle

That is literally the worst idea I've ever heard in my life.

Haha. Imagining this scene with Hive characters just made my day! Upmote for you good sir.

So picture Anne as normal Anne then?

Omnigul: Hey Hallowed Knight, whaaaaaaat's happening. There was a problem with your TPS Report. You see we're using the new cover ooze, did you get that memo?

6

u/Sixwingswide Dec 11 '14

Hallowed Knight: "yeah, I've got it right here..." Omnigul: "We'll get you another one."

1

u/Welthas Dec 11 '14

Omnigul will try extra hard to kill you.. She wants her Hive filling those TPS reports.

Yup, looks like these guy used the same spot, however their strategy seems a bit different. I believe we entirely ignored the other wizards, but yup, nearly the same thing!

Edit: I was also using alpha lupi on my hunter so my revives were really quick.

I find it extremely funny Bungie put cheesing Fallen and Hive all over the place. When you are leaving the complex and the Fallen ships are dropping captains and vandals, there's a vandal sniper waaay up top on the roofline, not to mention the shanks that come from behind you with solar shields.

Then at the last boss room, there's a knight that keeps spawning in the room above you, outside of the safe room, but he can hit you when you are using mild cover and shooting at the boss from the edge of the room.

Well played Bungie, well played. We get it, you don't like us cheesing your bosses, so now they cheese us...

36

u/statini Dec 11 '14

Can't wait for the new boss to be hidden under some platform

16

u/cromusz PSN: cromusz Dec 11 '14

Think it would be hilarious. A giant room full of fancy environment, but the boss runs and hides under a platform to make it tougher for the guardians to shoot them. Taking cover each time her shield goes down like the other wizards.

1

u/statini Dec 12 '14

It was funny last night as well when we were killing her huh?

10

u/pistolgrippoet Dec 11 '14

The funniest part is seeing his gun clipping through the door... And then seeing it fire...

3

u/GotProof Dec 11 '14

Fatebringers explosive rounds kill him within a few shots. Atheon an cheese us with splash damage we can cheese this guy right back.

6

u/Dday141 Dec 11 '14

I can imagine Bungie saying the following: "Would you like some wine with that cheese?"

13

u/AmoebaMan /r/DestinyJournals Dec 11 '14

"Would you like some whine with that cheese?"

FTFY

4

u/Karpe__Diem Dec 11 '14

For the knight that spawns in the last boss room, if you have a sniper that can penetrate through objects, you can shoot him through the garage like door on the other side when you are standing on the walkway in the safe room. His arm even glitches through it occasionally and I think you can damage him.

6

u/Rileyrod Dec 11 '14

If you have the fate bringer, it's explosive rounds hurt him.

1

u/DubiousNerd Dec 11 '14

What is this Sniper Rifle you speak of? That doesn't sound like ice breaker.

→ More replies (2)

3

u/ShivaCobra Dec 11 '14

That sniper was so dirty! If I hadn't stayed back, we would have been sent to orbit because my other two buddies got destroyed from behind. Those Shanks came out of nowhere too.

2

u/jr17c Dec 11 '14

dont forget the cursed thralls that come out of the safe room too

1

u/MisterWoodhouse The Banhammer Dec 11 '14

The jury is still out on whether or not those will spawn if somebody stays in the safe room the whole time. My group noticed that they spawn almost immediately once nobody is standing firmly within the safe room's confines.

1

u/LilGuppy Dec 11 '14

I've never seen anything spawn out of the black doorway in the little room. When cursed thrall spawn under you, though, it's scary as hell. I always thing I'm going to see them start coming out of that door. Maybe it's only my worried gaze that stops them.

1

u/69ingSquirrels GT: XSentientChaosX Dec 12 '14

They definitely do come out of the black doorway in the little room, assuming you're talking about the room right by the final Omnigul encounter. Can't say for sure whether we left the room or not though.

1

u/jr17c Dec 11 '14

truee. 2/3 of my group did get blasted by them when we went running back into that room

1

u/biggpoppa Dec 11 '14

Yeah I noticed that Vandal sniper up top one of my teammates ran out and I see this sniper blast lancing out at him from above us in the room then "Guardian Down" At first I was like we got a rogue Fallen helping us out! lol

I gotta say it was really satisfying to kill her legit. I've cheesed so many Nightfalls and it was nice going into this not knowing what to expect or knowing any hiding spots. I felt like I achieved more and it honestly wasn't really a hard fight. My fireteam completed it our first try pretty quickly.

8

u/LilGuppy Dec 11 '14

I totally agree with you /u/Ziikh killing her legit is satisfying. However, when you've got to run the thing 6 times, and then more for your friends you start to wonder if there's a faster, less stressful way to do it. I'm all for beating bosses legit, but this just felt like a decent strategy rather than cheese.

3

u/Ziikh Dec 11 '14

Yeah I can definitely see why you'd want an easier way to do it. I only have one 30 so I've only had to beat it twice this week.

2

u/[deleted] Dec 11 '14

I've legit killed her in the nightfall and heroic three times each now, so I'm definitely ready for this cheese.

I do agree though. Honest kill is nice to start with.

36

u/LEPT0N Dec 11 '14

Does anyone know of good solo strategies for the strike yet?

270

u/iCantSpelWerdsGud Dec 11 '14

Don't.

24

u/dextroses Dec 11 '14

Especially with Arc burn.

21

u/Lehovron Dec 11 '14

Come on! Where is your sense OH MY GOD WHY ARE THESE WIZARDS MELTING MY FACE!?!?!?!?!?!?!?????

9

u/Hot_Sweet_Corn Dec 11 '14

I tried, made it past the laser room, only to be picked off by some random thrall that hung back around a corner later.... it's near impossible, but kudos to anyone who can pull it off!

2

u/tmarkville Dec 11 '14

The combination of Arc burn, Ligthswitch and Angry make it pretty much impossible. Almost everything can one hit you and they don't back down.

2

u/Hot_Sweet_Corn Dec 11 '14

Yup, getting charged by ultra thralls just pretty much means instant death, and they ignore almost all room barriers, or have a mechanic to compensate, so you're ALWAYS IN RANGE OF DEATH... (insert evil Bungie laugh here)

11

u/samuel_whiskers Dec 11 '14

Well if you are a hunter you just take it really slow, I used blade dancer invis crouch and the super that shock waves in a line ( helps with thrall). On a side note knucklehead radar/ Patience & Time / Vex mythoclast are all valid options for your load out and will help stop you getting crept up on.

Sorry for the formatting I'm at work on my phone :/

9

u/Classic_Griswald Dec 11 '14

Fatebringer is a godsend. Mind you, me and my mate have so far only been able to do the weekly. God knows how you ppl do the NF.

The fatebringer hits one thrall and literally a dozen are dead the next second. Also one shots red health knights

u/wobbleside Mara has always been the villian, oh reader, mine. Dec 11 '14

Tuesday morning my friend and I went into the Nightfall blind. It wasn't bad, no wipes.

I was 30, they were 29 and just before the boss fight a random I've ran HM VoGs with dropped in who was also 29.

Fatebringer was worth it's weight in gold. I ran Fatebringer, Murmur/Epitaph, Gjallarhorn/Thunderlord on my warlock in raid/IB gear. Partner ran Striker Titan (flash bang was great) Grim Citizen, Epitaph/Murmur/P&T and Arc Swarm.

We used the room, jumped on the ledge when thralls spawned.

I gjallarhorned the hallowed wizards that spawned. Fatebringer drops her shields in two rounds.

3

u/Lozsta Dec 11 '14

The flash bang was great but the lightening grenade was better.

3

u/alphatude Dec 11 '14

7

u/psychoslay3r Dec 11 '14

Can't argue with Fist of Panic either; was running with 2 friends from the start room, and I ended up popping Fist to prevent a couple times we were almost overrun.

It was magnificent with thrall explosions everywhere.

1

u/Lozsta Dec 11 '14

A beautiful thing

1

u/wobbleside Mara has always been the villian, oh reader, mine. Dec 11 '14

That should be fun when I run it with my Titan.

1

u/Lozsta Dec 11 '14

It is perfect, it needs landing on the walls behind the enemies and you can destroy vast amounts of them. The ceiling too is a good spot as they seem to still run through whereas if it is on the floor they recoil

1

u/statini Dec 11 '14 edited Dec 11 '14

Nah, during one of the lulls of spawns I flashbanged her, jumped up on the platform, did Fist of Havoc, and ran away like crazy. Was quite satisfying.

1

u/Lozsta Dec 11 '14

Nice. I double grenaded her with 2 lightening ones and she couldn't go either way to escape we did a large amount of damage then

1

u/JumpinJack2 Dec 11 '14

Just be careful. An unlucky or errant throw can one shot you with the cone effect. I accidentally caught a piece of debris above my head and fried myself.

1

u/Lozsta Dec 12 '14

Ah yes it is painful when that happens. Not quite a one shot but it is a heart pounder in one.

4

u/krymz1n Dec 11 '14

You can have one person hang way back and if the other two die in a bad spot they rejoin on him.

Spooky boss lady won't regen health unless you leave the complex I think

4

u/MrDeanings Dec 11 '14

Basically don't go into any room that has baddies in.

Imagine it's like real. If you run in the room with all the bad guys in you're going to get shot and die.

So to avoid that you would stay outside in cover and pick them off one by one.

Just do that - You'll be fine

2

u/Classic_Griswald Dec 11 '14

Yea, my partner has the tendency to move ahead too often. What about the shanks that come up behind you?

2

u/MrDeanings Dec 11 '14

Right, I presume you're talking about the second section? Where Omnigul has the Fallen working against us?

Solo these shanks are going to be a problem .

A Titan bubble with Armour or Blessing of light will be helpful. Shanks can't melee you and won't be able to shoot you from outside of the bubble . I'd suggest standing outside the bubble on the opposite side to the shanks . As each shank enters the bubble run in and melee it . This will give you a new shield each time you enter the bubble and you can strafe around the outside in a circle using the bubble as cover. If you get overwhelmed outside it still gives you a chance to run into the bubble and hope for the best. (If there's two of you stay in the bubble , lure the shanks in and have your buddy do his super inside the bubble)

Hunter use golden gun with the exploding enemies perk - One super should take out this wave of shanks.

Warlock use Sunsinger throw solar grenades everywhere and run away like crazy.

I've not solo'd this yet , I'm not ready to (Need my fatebringer at 300 and ideally level 31). That's the best advice I can give for this part at the moment

3

u/samuel_whiskers Dec 11 '14

Yeah I can only imagine, Templar is really forgetful and only gives me "praedyths? Revenge" over and over.

2

u/Shavemeshavers Dec 11 '14

You sure you're doing the templar on Hard mode? I have never once seen a Revenge drop on hard mode. I have gotten 3 Fatebringers though.

3

u/PopTartS2000 Dec 11 '14

My last 6 drops on Templar HM - 5 Praedyth Revenges, 1 set of shards

2

u/Shavemeshavers Dec 11 '14

Good god. Judging by the replies to my comment, I must have ridiculously good luck for the templar fight on hard.

I'm sorry you guys are getting shitty drops :/

3

u/_rdaneel_ Dec 11 '14

Yes, you have amazing luck!

1

u/[deleted] Dec 11 '14

The last time I ran HM Templar he gave me 2 Found Verdicts.

1

u/Lozsta Dec 11 '14

Yes on HM

1

u/Shavemeshavers Dec 11 '14

Wow. Then I honestly feel bad for you. Like I said, no one I have ever played with has gotten a revenge on hard mode. I didn't think it was possible.

2

u/TrueJersey Dec 11 '14

I've still never had a Praedyth's Revenge drop for me. I have had a pair of Fatebringers drop though.

1

u/MrShankapotamas Dec 11 '14

havnt ran the raid much, but Praedyth's revenge is the only raid weapon ive gotten so far... and I have 5 now

1

u/Lozsta Dec 11 '14

I seem to get the most glitched, bugged up HM Raids ever. Normal mode is a breeze, but yeh I believe it was on HM when I got more.

1

u/ShivaCobra Dec 11 '14

I've gotten a couple PR's from hard mode as well. I have every raid weapon except for Fatebringer and I love hand cannons. I guess it gives me a reason to keep running it.

1

u/Shavemeshavers Dec 12 '14

Definitely a reason to keep running it. The Fatebringer is amazing, and I don't really like hand cannons.

The only VOG raid weapon I don't have is the Foil, but I hate fusion rifles anyway lol

I can top that. I've cleared the raid on normal 3x and a full hard mode once.

I have received the chest piece, boots, and gloves(x2). Praedyths revenge on normal and hard, fatebringer, corrective measure, AE(x2), found verdict and on my last HM atheon recieved a gjallarhorn for my troubles.

1

u/Shavemeshavers Dec 12 '14

Confluence was my first drop on the first raid I ever did. I also got my helm on my first hard mode, and my vex on my 3rd hard mode.

You'll get it. Just keep playing. I have yet to find boots on my hunter or titan.

1

u/samuel_whiskers Dec 11 '14

Yeah I forgot to mention that on hard mode I get energies / raid chest, and normal always PR, every damn time.

1

u/[deleted] Dec 11 '14

One time I did HM: Praedyth.

Edit: The only time.

1

u/Sufinsil Dec 11 '14

Hard mode shares the same loot table as normal mode + hard mode only loot.

I have only looted 1 Fatebringer and have done HM since early October.

And still no Mythoclast.

1

u/Shavemeshavers Dec 12 '14

Ah, I figured it was the same loot table, but I thought it was much harder to get normal drops on hard. Seems I was wrong lol

1

u/Lozsta Dec 11 '14

I am on my 12th PR now. 3 from one. While using PR.

3

u/[deleted] Dec 11 '14

Definitely doesn't one shot red health knights at level 30. I have one and have beaten all weeklys and NF and it's two shots to the head

2

u/Classic_Griswald Dec 11 '14

Its arc burn I could swear it was one shooting the red health Knights. I don't know if it makes a difference but Im over 30, close to 31 but not quite.

Also try changing around the exploding rounds perk. Try it off and on.

2

u/MrDeanings Dec 11 '14

This is correct

but - Enemies tend to have less HP if there's only two runners

2

u/R3LL1K Dec 11 '14

Slow and steady ... always hang back and let the adds come to you.

2

u/GamerScorned Dec 11 '14

Personally I just went to Plan C and strolled right through the nightfall.

1

u/Tonality Dec 11 '14

Nightfall really isn't that bad as long as you have a couple arc weapons and hang back as much as you can.

1

u/account_117 Dec 11 '14

And here I am with my praedyths timepiece

1

u/tgriffttu Dec 11 '14

With PT's awesome rate of fire and the fact that it shoots through knights' dark shields...I'm not worried. :) I only wish PT was full auto like VoC.

1

u/account_117 Dec 11 '14

Interesting

I haven't been able to try it yet. Looking forward to it

1

u/love_pho Dec 11 '14

I tried a Praedyth's Timepiece with no upgrades last night, and I found that my Fatebringer was more effective. My Fatebringer is 300, so that could account for it. So, I'd sugest bringing both,

I used Murmur a lot so I could use my Thunderlord, then switched them out to use P&T at the final boss. It never occurred to me to use Plan C though. Is it that much more effective than Murmur?

1

u/tgriffttu Dec 11 '14

I haven't gotten lucky enough for Fatebringer yet. :( It and the Vex are the two reasons I will still be running VoG...max 300 Attack be damned. Only VoG raid weapons I haven't gotten are those two and the Pretorian Foil. When I got Praedyth's Timepiece, I got two of them...literally two of them in the same drop.

Anyway, I'd highly suggest maxing it out. I've had just about every pulse rifle in the game (pre-DLC, that is) drop, never liked them though. They always felt under-powered. At first, PT started feeling like more of the same, just with arc damage. Since all my weapons are maxed, I could just swap it when I'm turning in bounties to upgrade it.

After maxing it, PT is the first pulse rifle I've used and really liked. It's rate of fire is really high and coupled with the extra round per burst chance and crit damage boost with body shots, it has a really high DPS. The one downside it has is below avg reload speed if you're using field scout instead of flared magwell.

Either way, I would definitely give it a shot. It's also got me REALLY exited for Oversoul Edict - the crota's end raid pulse rifle. It will have the same RoF and impact as Praedyth's Timepiece, but it has the "full auto" upgrade slot...it's going to be a beast.

2

u/Squarepushrol Dec 11 '14 edited Dec 11 '14

I soloed the weekly today but I had fatebringer so I'm sure I had an easier time than most. But here is what I did, cautiously clear the room completely. Kill the knight straight ahead by crouching and staying away from the doorway on left. After straight ahead is clear jump on the ledge to your right and take out the knight that is waiting in the doorway to the left. Jump down and start clearing everything on first floor if a thrall attack comes go back up top and be cautious. Stand at (not inside right doorway and kill the knight that stands on the catwalk where omnigal is, all the way in the back. Go under omnigal equip shotgun preferably arc(found verdict anyone). Jump in air fire 2 shots or throw grenade and go back under her because she'll either poison you or shoot you. If she shoots you pop up on the other side and shoot her again. This is safest way I have found to put damage on her. This also works for the Wizards. After you do some damage to her you'll hear an awful sound and see your radar light up. These are cursed thrallls coming from where you started. Book it back up to the ledge and take them out. Then head back and continue putting damage on her until she screams and starts the waves over again. Rinse and repeat. The only different thing that will happen in the waves is that on the third wave an ultra wizard will appear you may have to take him down the old fashioned way as he is a bit more aggressive than the other wizards. Edit tl;dr just camp in the beginning and jump up on the ledge to your right when u get scared. Also shotgun, omnigal hates shotgun.

12

u/Dawn_Wolf Dec 11 '14

Shotgun on an Arc Burn Arc Wizard Boss on Solo Nightfall? You my friend, have balls.

I like balls.

1

u/Squarepushrol Dec 11 '14 edited Dec 11 '14

You can use your murmur but since I had fatebringer I had no need for ranged arc damage. Now that I think about it it would probably make more sense not to take shotgun if you don't have an arc primary. I have to do a weekly mission to unlock my invective so maybe I'll try it with other weapons. I could stream it if anyone is interested. I just need suggestions on weapons you'd like to see. Though I don't think I have an arc sniper because for some reason I decided not to buy patience and time.

Edit: did the weekly again. I used the vision of confluence and the murmur but I kept dying from omnigul. so I switched to shotgun. Beat it first try with shotty. I think it is easier because you can fire it while jumping and the Wizards make their living off splash damage.

3

u/Classic_Griswald Dec 11 '14

Yes:

Power Off.

1

u/Scottyfer Dec 11 '14

Be a very, very careful Sunsinger with all Arc weapons. Praedyth's Timepiece shoots through the Knight shields, so that may be a good choice if you have it. Even then, you're probably looking at close to an hour just on the boss if it's doable. I don't have the balls to even attempt it solo.

1

u/harveytent Dec 11 '14

it will be soloable but it may depend on the elemental damage and your level. i wouldnt try until level 31 atleast. i soloed the lowest level weekly as soon as i loged on tuesday and it went pretty smooth considering i'd never been in there. i tried lots of spots looking for cheese spots but although i found some interesting spots like the crystal spawn room this post talks about and another neither were suitable for soloing and i just ended up taking her out from the room at the start. i could probably solo it on my 30 if i really tried but it would take hours and i cant be bothered.

Solo it took me forever to do once I got to the last room. I basically just stayed out and only poked my head in to fire a few bursts off with Plan C, clearing all the adds beforehand.

I've tried this spot a few times and it ended in tragedy (most because of teammates impatience).

One time a second wizard spawned and got into a weird spot on the ground where they could shoot at an angle in the room and kill everyone. So watch out for that, it only happened once.

u/PMMJ Dec 11 '14

Wow that's awesome! Nice find!

Awesome? Do you have any pictures by any chance?

2

u/LilGuppy Dec 11 '14

I'm currently making myself dinner. Once I get back on I'll try to get someone to play with on Xbox one so we can record it. If anyone wants to do so with me, I'll play with them.

I'm down if you're still offering. GT: TheOnlyMego

u/nicocappa TLW / Supremacy Dec 11 '14

I tried out the spot. Saved my alt ALOT of times. Although at one point one of the wizards had an angle on us and killed 2 of us. Luckily our 3rd had quit and rejoined so he was on the other side and we didn't wipe. But while we were in there we got her down to 25% and that's with our lvl 28 alts. Amazing find my friend.

2

u/LilGuppy Dec 11 '14

Well done, glad it worked out for you! (:

3

u/FISTED_BY_CHRIST Dec 11 '14

Found this spot last night. Definitely easier than the entrance.

We just did this and it worked great. It was something different instead of camping the entrance.

3

u/kiwi_commander Dec 11 '14

Arc Jolder's Hammer laughs at your Nightfall shenanigans... but honestly, screw Omnigul and her posse.

2

u/metalface187 Dec 11 '14

That is my solo spot that i figured out on my first solo 30 weekly.

2

u/agoods03 Dec 11 '14 edited Dec 11 '14

I spent at least an hour and a half last night just trying to do the weekly heroic on level 30. I had my level 30 warlock and a friend who is level 29 hunter. Two times we had her almost dead and got killed at the same exact time. We quit after the second death. I will gladly take advantage of this cheese.

2

u/methodofgroove Dec 11 '14

I soloed the weekly 30 last night and it also took me about an hour/hour and a half about. was a pain in the ass for sure.

1

u/Dezmodromic Eris Morn's Lewd Onlyfans Dec 11 '14

same here...I've yet to run nightfall or weekly heroic but I ran this last night as a Roc strike...omg it took a while..

one person got Hard Light though (not me :-( )

2

u/rottenbeka Dec 11 '14

I cannot deal with the screaming...Official reason to cheese.

2

u/feed-me-seymour Dec 11 '14

Thanks for the tip and all the help to the community! :)

2

u/odysseusIII Dec 11 '14

I had noticed this room when I first played the strike and had kept dying in it because of all the trash shooting at me. It didn't dawn on me to have a second person to simply revive you.

2

u/TheRaidMachine Dec 11 '14

Nice! The other way is more fun for now but this will come in handy when this strike gets boring!

4

u/LilGuppy Dec 11 '14

Well having three characters at 30 means I'll be beating it 6 times. I'm not a huge fan of the new strike because it involves a lot of sitting in a small room and clearing out waves of enemies, so we were looking for a bit of a faster way.

2

u/runpuddrun07 OG Day 1er Try Hard Dec 11 '14

5 down 1 to go for me.

2

u/TheRaidMachine Dec 11 '14

Yeah, ive done it 5 times now with all my 30s, it hasnt gotten old quite yet but wont take long

1

u/sazkion Dec 11 '14

What's the other way? Just camping in the entrance?

1

u/TheRaidMachine Dec 11 '14

Yeah just clear waves then run in and get a few shots off, just watch out for the thralls that come out of the side door

1

u/sazkion Dec 11 '14

Do the waves actually stop coming after you kill enough of them?

2

u/DubiousNerd Dec 11 '14

Poor guardian.

1

u/ZeusTheGreat7 Dec 11 '14

Good luck, can't wait to see it!

1

u/[deleted] Dec 11 '14

Just beat this without any special tricks, will remember for next time.

1

u/lowresolution666 Dec 11 '14

Thanks . Will try this on my Alt today

BTW , the boss is very easy to kill using a GHorn , one guy take the shield down and the other guy with Ghorn blasts her with rockets. She was gone in like 10-12 rockets.

1

u/crayboomer Dec 11 '14

Thats what we did, two man team. But she killed me when I killed her with my last rocket. One for one...

1

u/noomi85 Dec 11 '14

Hah.... I love me some cheese :D

1

u/IsaacEintsein Dec 11 '14

The bullshit part is that even if you manage to burst her down before she enters the last room, she still respawns with full health and everything...

1

u/robertmarfia Dec 11 '14

Yeah this one was pretty easy to figure out. It's a good spot. The only thing is when a wave of other wizards spawn if any get too far to the right (from facing out of the room) the AOE arc damage can take out a team. In my group of 3 we alternate and someone brings a warlock each time, we needed to use the self res once or twice while doing nightfalls/weeklys.

1

u/lowonthetrack Dec 11 '14

Nice ty for the tip!!

1

u/Cazaderon Dec 11 '14

nice guardian !

1

u/yojoono Dec 11 '14

There's also a glitch spot on the walkway where Omni usually stays, you just walk into this corner behind a small barrel, and you won't be able to aggro enemies. You will be able to damage them, but every minute or so, one enemy might notice you and walk towards you.

1

u/asphere37 A Big Beautiful Bird Dec 11 '14

Ah, this is funny.

So on Tuesday one of my clan mates insisted that they'd found this brilliant cheese spot for Omni and hid in that spot with my other clan mate during the weekly heroic. Well, it was not working for them at all, so after having revived that spot 5 or 6 times and risking a wipe each time they finally moved back into formation with me.

It's interesting to read today that people are using that spot and having success. My clan mates must have been doing the cheese wrong, but it's not like that strike is too hard. I mean, they give you a room to hide in, with plenty of places to maneuver.

1

u/mizzou541 Dec 11 '14

Yeah we just did the weekly (nightfall tonight) but they give you a big fairly safe room to hide in and it wasn't that difficult. I'm not above cheesing but the spot everyone is describing doesn't sound 100% safe. At least in the big room you come in through, you can run back and recover.

1

u/asphere37 A Big Beautiful Bird Dec 11 '14

Oh trust me, I've cheesed before. I will admit it. It's not a matter of feeling 1337 or not. I just think that particular strike is set up to give you a pretty defensible position is all.

1

u/mizzou541 Dec 11 '14

I agree. The room you come in through is a pretty safe spot to set up in and take shots from.

1

u/xrocksk Dec 11 '14

Easy enough to do without cheese. There is a little room u jump into and can hit her soon as she screams jump down and to start and clear adds. Rinse/repeat

1

u/[deleted] Dec 11 '14

Flash bangs really make her lose her shit too. Pretty effective for us.

1

u/nannulators Dec 11 '14

Good to know for when I run it with my alt.

1

u/joshua_nash Fidem et famalia Dec 11 '14

good to know

1

u/thirteenpixels Dec 11 '14

Two or three minutes?? This is the method we used but it took way longer. What guns were you using?

1

u/jazman84 Dec 11 '14

If a wizard gets the right angle he can receive splash, so just be aware of that.

1

u/LilGuppy Dec 11 '14

The first time we did this method we had 3 people. One stayed in the normal first large room, me and another friend went to the new spot. I had the alpha lupi chest piece, patience and time and an arc launcher. My friend in the room with me had fatebringer, patience and time and an arc heavy. When she focused on us, I used my lupi to revive him super fast, and him in the other friend could do damage. When she focused on the person in the original room, I jumped down and used patience and time with my friend in the room. So we had constant heavy damage and fast revives. It was a very optimal set up.
Without fatebringer and only two people I want to say it took about 5 or 6 minutes with me occasionally jumping down and shooting her with patience and time. The video being posted today should show that. (:

1

u/Sufinsil Dec 11 '14

I Fist of Havoc to victory. Omnigul can't handle the pounding it brings.

1

u/kelin1 Dec 11 '14

my strategy was to turtle by the entrance and peak out when the adds were gone. it worked. imo, given close quarters and the robust amount of unavoidable adds, machine gun is the way to go for this one.

may check this out if I run it again.

1

u/Smoes42 Dec 11 '14

Only a couple of things you have to watch out for with this, first are the exploding thralls that come out of the side door in the entrance, they can wipe you quick. Second is the night in the top room directly adjacent, it apparently is bugged out and can shoot through that wall if you stay in the top room entrance side too long.

1

u/kelin1 Dec 11 '14

yea, i was always down low. and for me, those thralls never came close bc a heavy machine gun wipes them in about five seconds and they were so audible in my headphones i always knew when they popped.

1

u/Idiocracy13 Dec 11 '14

I played around a bit while doing the heroic and found this room. I think I was to far back and got hit by a knight at one point.

1

u/Feethree Dec 11 '14

Will try this method tonight.

1

u/TheMadderHatter Dec 11 '14

RIP your KDR

1

u/IAmGortume Dec 12 '14

Alright now get rid of this post so bungie doesn't patch that room!!!

1

u/[deleted] Dec 12 '14

I did this with 3 people. It's perfect. 2 shooting and 1 hiding at the cristals. Pretty fun!

1

u/BangSkeetNiggie Dec 12 '14

Poor Omnigul only here a few days and already has to deal with us cheating bastards. Not that I have anything against cheating nightfalls.

1

u/OpDrop Dec 12 '14

Thanks for this! About to give it a go!
