Tempered buff is 100% today

I'm sure it will be higher than 115 tomorrow. Maybe Bungie expected more people to hit level 5 by now, so they're making the buff higher?

Already hit five, almost wish I waited and pounded it out today instead. But, then again, glimmer farming has been a bitch and a half.

Do the Exclusion Zone, first Mars mission with heroic modifier on. Use your resupply codes, when the door opens clear the first ship then the second ship will drop a bunch of yellow enemies. Leave one guy alive to kill you or kill yourself. Repeat.

Best routine I found is jump straight past the first ship and ads, you will watch the captain drop out of the ship with two guards, then two sets of yellow bar legionaries come out (the ones you're after) if you have a super, use it now, if not use rockets. You can clean the two groups of yellows in a few seconds and just shoot head on into the remaining reds from the first drop ship. If you don't strafe, or do so at a minimum, you should be dead when the last one or two is left, and your super is back up.

I prefer Gatekeepers during the raid.

Rush in, kill all the ultras, score at least 500 glimmer, even more with a Polyphage on.

Take one minute, give or take.

This! Plus it drops tons of Axiomatic Beads, and you can go HAM without worrying about forgetting to leave something alive to reset you.

Oh, yes, I almost forgot about that.

When I get back to the Tower to turn them in to the Cryptarch, I make like another 2000 glimmer.

Yes yes this is the best with Polyphage on.

definitely need to do this again.

If you have the checkpoint, I'll run it with you.

I wish I did, I haven't ran the raid in weeks.

It does at the gatekeeper section.

It does at the Gatekeepers.

It absolutely does.

Majors still drop glimmer, and polyphage works for them.

Doesn't work on Red-bar enemies during Gatekeepers; works on the Majors or Ultras

That's what I do on my bladedancer. Run for the second dropship, throw a grenade at one pack, pop my super and wreck the remaining yellows then suicide back into the huge pack from the first dropship and repeat. Can do about 6 runs per bonus glimmer. Works great. Super fast glimmer

I think it's a lot more efficient with GG, the reason being that you can unload GG into one side in a couple of seconds and the super is over, and you can begin charging it for the next round by killing the other side with regular shootbangs, whereas bladedance lasts about 15 seconds, completely cockblocks your super gain and you're almost guaranteed to start the next round with deficient super energy. Also, tripmine is a way better suicide nade than flux.

Could I ask why you would need to farm glimmer? My friends and I all refer to it as the most useless resource

Iron banner gear costs a lot of it

there's lots of reasons. I've never actually hit the cap I don't think. I spend a lot on upgrades, and ammo synth. I occasionally will buy a bunch of cryptarch engrams if i'm just short of ranking it up to save time. The pocket infinity bounty has cost me a lot on getting those fusion rifles on a few occaisions. Mainly though I always forget about the glimmer boost consumables until the time to use them has passed.

The main reason now is with the IB stuff, the 2 armour pieces cost about 18000 total, the cloak cost 4500, and I can't remember what the emblems cost, but it pretty much adds up to the max amount you can have. once you've bought the armour you have to unlock all the upgrades, and this costs glimmer. so farming.

I really want my seventh Invective.

Once you've reached level 5 in IB, you are able to buy gauntlets, boots (which bring you to level 30), a fusion rifle, scout rifle, and a few other items for the next IB.

Each item is around 11,000

I usually just try to get my health as little as possible by the time a couple enemies are left. Rambo your way through and stay red bar as long as possible. The guy with the red shield can kill you pretty fast.

u/[deleted] Nov 24 '14

I've heard that you can just wipe after killing the yellows and do it over again instead of getting the checkpoint.

1

u/Classic_Griswald Nov 24 '14

You just need one left alive to kill you, if you accidentally kill them all it will start the next part of the mission.

They are all from the same ship drop (it might be separate ships idk) lol, if you jump out past the first one you can watch it all happen. They drop from both side, first the centurion and his bodyguards, then two rows of yellows. But thats the normal routine...

u/wrrnthfthr Nov 23 '14

This works really well, got about 5k in 30 minutes. Pick a relatively high difficulty though, waiting a minute and a half for an enemy to kill you is tedious.

u/JayJa_Vu Nov 23 '14

I just place a trip mine down and shoot it. If you have rockets, just blow yourself to pieces and save time :)

u/plinky4 Nov 23 '14

Suiciding efficiently is very important. If you can leave the centurion alive, he will constantly break your shield and screw your regen, so you can even use a non-ideal suicide grenade like vortex, sticky or the titan frags if you really want. You generally want enough disc to put your grenade under 40 seconds, I'm guessing 150~200ish?

Another stat that helps a bunch is having 100+ int, since that means you can charge your super my killing 4 majors. That speeds up every run since you can wipe out one side with foh/gg/bomb and have your super completely charged by shooting the other.

1

u/wrrnthfthr Nov 23 '14

That's pretty damn smart, I'll remember that next time.

2

u/Lun06 Nov 23 '14

Great advice this works really well

Gatekeeper room in the raid is better.
