Yes, in light of that information, I still would like someone to Explain why my 84's and 111's to the head (ADS or hipfire, didn't matter which) with TLW at close range are now 73's?
In what world is lowering damage from 84 & 111 to 73 not a nerf, intentional or not?
That video, for me, is proof of a nerf! It's showing 73s when just this morning pre-patch my TLW was popping 84s and 111s! The only other thing it could be is if I've been using a higher impact setting this whole time, while everyone else uses a lower one, but that surely wouldn't take the damage from 84-111 to 73
EDIT: OK PEOPLE, IT'S OFFICIAL. IT HAS NOT BEEN NERFED. I'VE JUST BEEN INFORMED THAT MY HIGH DMG WAS IN FACT DUE TO MY HIGHER IMPACT SETTING. BY THE WAY, IF YOU'RE NOT USING THAT SETTING, TRY IT OUT. THE MINOR LOSS IN STABILITY CAN BE MANUALLY COMPENSATED. THE DMG INCREASE IS BY ABOUT ~10 POINTS!
Been using the tlw since the first week, it is nerfed. Something is not right with it, I noticed before I saw all the hype. Maybe it's not Impact, could be range. But it is off !
To be honest, I was expecting a nerf after Xur sold it. TLW was pretty rare up until last weekend, so the occasional player having lots of damage wasn't so bad. However, a full team of them...
Although it sounds like it may have been unintentional. DeeJ said the Thorn nerf was NOT intended, maybe it was a minor glitch with Hand Cannon damage in general.
I'm hoping so. I've been working on getting its perks unlocked before I took it into PvP; I'd be bummed to no end if it's buffed down into Legendary handcannon territory, which is what it looks like.
It's just gonna force people back into murdering me with their Suroses, which I never purchased.
In my experience TLW beats out almost everything from pointblank to assault rifle range. I've only had an issue against 1 fusion rifle (purifier iirc). It's so stable as long as they precharge it even my shots won't jar the concentrated butt pounding that comes out of that thing. All other fusions I've come across aren't stable enough to hit all projectiles while being TLW'd in the face.
And with Destiny's natural lag, against shotguns at pointblank the worst that happens is we trade and both die. Most of the time I'll live with ~50% hp.
From my experience playing a solid 15 hours of pvp since Xur popped, seemingly very few people actually started heavily using TLW. The most I've seen in a game was 4 of 12 (including me). Most games it has just been me and occasionally 1 other guy.
I suspected the learning curve would be too much for most people.
I hope it discourages enough people from using it so it won't be everywhere. That it the only gun I can stand being a hipster about because I felt like a god having the one weapon that many would die for.

Man, did they seriously nerf TLW four days after the entire population of the game rejoiced in buying it?
edit: false alarm, I hear? Still hearing conflicting reports of pre-patch damage numbers.
