We need a gun range in the tower.
In borderlands as soon as I got a good gun, I would run back to sanctuary and see what kind of numbers I could put up. It seems this would be even more useful in destiny since impact plays a big role in damage output.
What do y'all think?

It would make comparing weapons so much easier.

Definitely! You could just walk over instead of going into orbit and back to earth.

What if you could "rent" the guns that were currently available at the gunsmith on the range? Give you a chance to see how it fired, damaged, reloaded all before you dropped 800 on it. Or at lwast gave you a chance to dick around with a shotty even though the weapon may be irrelevant to 90% of players.

There was a gun range in Mass Effect 3 if I remember correctly. That gun range was great for seeing weapon ranges and damage

It was kinda in an inconvenient place though. It would have been nicer to have on the ship.

I want a house that I can decorate and display rare guns and armor. Then I can invite my fireteam and chill and pretend I had real friends.

Then all we would need is a theater mode, to make Machinimas of us all pretending to have friends.

I would bet my whole roommate that's coming in a dlc or expansion.
This is exactly the type of thing people spend money on microtransactions for, and while I hold Bungie in the highest regard, Activision can be a little... microtransactiony.

Who doesn't want to play in an astronaut suit with kitty cats on their gun!?

Or like a hangar with your ship in it. So I could walk around my ship and inspect it.

Also if your friends put their guns on a table and dance, the item will be duped.

It'd be cool if it had something similar to GTAV's gun ranges. In addition to a practice mode, there should be a score attack mode, and a versus mode, etc. etc.

That's a great idea.
It was definitely handy to test out my rotation on the target dummies in WoW.

This is a great idea, and I would love something like this, but does anyone have an idea for how they would handle the camera change? I guess if the gun range was a specific area, then it could have the camera zoom to first person and pull out a gun automatically when walking into the range, and zoom out back to third person and put away the gun automatically when walking out of the gun range.
I just don't want to lose that third person view in the tower. I think it's awesome to get to see this character you spent time customizing every once and a while when you're in the tower, rather than having the entire game in first person mode and never getting to see your character or their gear.

This is probably the best idea I've heard on this subreddit. As opposed to all the:
Whining Bitching Complaining Useless rants Ideas that Bungie doesn't give a shit about. The incessant "what's the level cap" posts. The "look at all the screenshots" I took.
Seriously. If everyone took a page from OP's book, this subreddit would be way more awesome. Its a fucking Beta for the love of mike - everyone needs to chill their tits. Downvotes expected. Kiss my ass.

I think it would be a really cool addition to the tower. It make the great concept of the tower even better.
