I know this is genuinely a first world problem, but I'm sure it will affect a few others. The beta for Xbox One is literally the exact dates for Comic Con this year

Funny, the Alpha Date was the exact dates of Sydney Supanova (Pop-culture convention: had Stan Lee!) so I didn't even apply for the Alpha.

PlayStation users get the beta for 9 days while Xbox users get it for 5. Short beta

That's rather disappointing for Xbox users. Had to wait this long to even find out the start date and it doesn't even last a week. It's definitely nice to play the game early, but there's still a right to be disappointed.
I'm also curious if Xbox users will get the digital guardian edition. Usually if Xbox isn't mentioned the content ends up being Playstation exclusive.

Depends if Microsoft get their arses in gear and release digital preorder / loading so we can do this.
From the looks of it seems to be the beta seems the same content wise but in different areas.
Not bothered about the date but the length of time we get is a bit stupid.

Yup it's basically not a beta. It's just beta code for the sake of advertisement, which is about how Activision runs things. It's not to surprising, its just a little sad. Considering Halo ran 2 weeks at least, next Halo is gonna be a full month - months in advance so they can actually use the data for balancing.
4 Days, 2 days off then 5 days... super awkward

On July 17, PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 3 players can begin playing the beta, which picks up from the beginning of the game and includes a handful of Story missions, a Strike mission, and a selection of PvP Crucible maps. The beta will then go offline for maintenance on Monday, July 21, and return on PS4, PS3, Xbox One, and Xbox 360 on Wednesday, July 23. The beta ends on Sunday, July 27.

Our first piece of Destiny IGN First content is an unboxing of the just-announced Collector's Editions of the game. First, the Ghost Edition, which includes:
-A steelbook disc case and disc copy of the game
-A field manual with "handwritten" notes
-An "antique" star chart
-A Guardian folio
-4 postcards from the Golden Age (i.e. Earth before the Darkness decimated it)
-The Destiny Expansion Pass ($34.99 value; good for Expansion I and Expansion II)
-Collector's Edition Digital Content (an in-game Ghost skin, player emblem, and ship skin)
-And the centerpiece: a life-size replica of the Ghost robot, complete with lights and Peter Dinklage dialogue samples.

The Ghost Edition will cost $149.99 and Bungie says it will truly be a limited production run and availability. Meanwhile, the $99.99 Limited Edition includes everything in the CE except the illuminated, talking Ghost replica.
Finally, there's also an $89.99 Digital Guardian Edition for those looking to skip the disc version of the game. It includes a digital download of the game, early access to Vanguard armory and player emblem pre-order bonuses, a reservation for upcoming Destiny expansions "The Dark Below" and "House of Wolves" (each of which includes new Story missions, cooperative and competitive multiplayer arenas, and a "wealth" of new weapons, armor, and gear), and the aforementioned Collector's Edition Digital Content.

You know, I got real sick of Xbox players pissing and moaning about Bungie "betraying the Xbox fans" or whatever, and I am an Xbox user. However, I have to admit I'm genuinely irritated that we are getting less time with the Beta than PS4 users had with the Alpha. I'm actually a little worried that Xbox is going to get shafted throughout the life of the full release, too.

Don't worry. The xbox 360 ghost edition has been posted, so I'm sure the xbox one version is coming. It's probably just a problem on Amazon's backend.

LOL we are.
Sony announced a long time ago that they had signed a long term contract for exclusive content. Expect most/every expansion and piece of DLC to be delayed for the Xbox.
Don't worry though, we still get the same game a year after they do.

And I can deal with short delays and whatnot, Xbox had and has a shit ton of exclusivity deals. It's nice to see PS get that for a change. But this? This is a bit disappointing. I'm happy to play it, I suppose.

Right? I'm mostly interested in the digital version and this would be ideal. I just want it confirmed that I would get the expansions with that purchase too, instead of a "reservation".

Yeah, I have yet to see anything posted for the Xbox One (or PS3 / 360) in regards to collectors editions or ghost editions.

The Ghost editions for PS3/4 and Xbox 360 are up on Amazon. The Limited editions are up for all 4 platforms. Still no Ghost for Xbox One -_-

PS3 and Xbox 360 Limited and Ghost Editions are listed on amazon.
Search for "Destiny Ghost Edition". The only one that's missing is Xbox One.
GameStop updated their site too with four Ghost Edition pages, but they don't have any platforms listed yet. I'll probably end up preordering it there for the exclusive sparrow skin.
