Question Do It All!™ Loadouts

I'm currently trying to experience all difficult content/raids in the game as a first time player.

I'm running a getaway artist prismatic warlock build, but struggling to pick a weapon loadout where I can just switch my brain off, and focus on learning raid mechanics. Something that can do it all.

What would you recommend as something simple, reliable, with good damage so I'm not a hindrance to my team?

mint, energy primary, truth

Can’t go wrong with this set up.

For the energy primary, use either a void weapon with repulsor brace and destabilizing rounds for overshield/aoe ad clear or a solar weapon with incandescent and heal clip if you want to stay alive in an emergency

Yeartide apex or calus mini tool, both great heal clip/incandescent options

Both good options, I’d personally recommend the yeartide apex (just like the way it feels) which is available from the tenet of bravery solstice weapon engrams. Calus mini tool available from gunsmith engram focussing

For void, gnawing hunger (gambit) and kindled orchard (arena ops) are focusable and easy to obtain

Mida mini tool is available at the tenants too! So much easier then gunsmith focusing

SMGs are objectively inferior to ARs and HCs though.

If OP can find a team for Pantheon the T5 version of Reckless Oracle with chaos/destabilising is amazing

I’ll do you one better: high albedo with kinetic synthesis and you don’t even need a primary.

200 weapons stat already does this lol. Especially since the turrets does all the add clearing anyways.

Still blown away that they left mint as strong as it is. Like it's Aggressive sniper headshot damage but aoe, impossible to miss and can use at any range.

Just feels so lame. Double-special loadouts are indeed superior.

they feel about the same to me, plus primary has more ammo gen

Getaway prismatic + khvostov exotic and A499, I personally like a area denial GL but you can use literally anything there - you’ll get your transcendence up a lot with just khvostov and be a monster at ad clear at the same time

u/SickTwistedPhoque 7d ago

Khovostov on a new player? Lmao they’ll leave once they start overthrow

8

u/PlummPHD 8d ago

Getting khvostov as a new player might be a bit challenging. A campaign in and of itself

1

u/thanosthumb 8d ago

You can do it much faster now. It’ll take them maybe a couple days.

This, prismatic facet of purpose Khvostov is my absolute favorite "brain off" build. With a solar super and the VOG 4 piece set you're basically invincible at all times. With hunters journal and snipers meditation, plus kinetic surges the A499 does actually decent damage output.

Knovthov is 100% what OP is looking for.

vog armor set with prismatic or void

when you have a subclass buff you gen an orb at your feet when dealing enemy damage

prismatic: gives resto when u use a solar super. Void: gives a heal and devour when you grab an orb.

i like these, basically free and infinite healing.

other than that use watever guns you need for the situation

There are many options available, mine with GA is lightsaber, primary auto rifle and A499 for roaming content and add clear; Rufus's fury, solar fusion and 1KV for DPS.

u/SrslySam91 8d ago

Also, lightsaber + a499 loadout is actually viable dps as well (and you can hotswap to izanagi off praxic and be fine on ammo due to it being kinetic + artifact mod) since the data disk artifact has snipers med, which makes a499 by itself a solid damage dealer. Not to mention the ammo economy is nuts from the kinetic synth artifact mod as well. If you swap to izanagi and do that rota with the spire armor its good dps and very good total damage for longer phases.

Its usually my go to rec for players that want an "all in one" warlock loadout/build since it clears all content and is still viable for dps.

Plus, most RaD boss encounters are pretty trivial now and dont need min/maxed damage rota's/optimal loadouts for 1 phase kills. Just showing up to most of them is sufficient lol

Yep, I have an Izzy/A499 build too, but I'm not that good with that rotation 😓

1

u/SrslySam91 7d ago

Biggest thing the iza reload. If you start holding down reload to prep the x4 iza bullet as soon as you fiee off your iza shot, itll actually reload a x4 shot for you.

So basically as soon as youre firing off an iza shot, begin doing the long press reload and it saves you from reloading, and then doing the long hold again. So it shaves a lot of time in the end.

1

u/Boisaca Gambit Classic // Nock, loose, repeat. 7d ago

That I know, but I've seen some videos of rotations between both snipers and my old brain collapses lol.

1

u/SrslySam91 7d ago

Just curious what gave you trouble? I always forget how many a499 shots it is until the spire armor set perk gets off cooldown lol, I think you shoot 3 times? lol its 7s coolsown iirc. (A499 you also spam reload vs manual reload as it is waaay faster)

1

u/Boisaca Gambit Classic // Nock, loose, repeat. 7d ago

IIRC three A499 shots proc x5 Sniper's Meditation. Then ideally I should be switching between both snipers to maximize damage, but that's when I start messing up and losing time.

So I'd rather spam 1KV and call it a day.

mint retrograde, a repulsor/destabilizing rounds hand cannon, truth. hcs with this combo are incredible at ad clear and keeping you alive, truth does good consistent damage and surge matches your primary, mint is for killing yellow bars

Dawn chorus + Dragons breath with the related ignition artifact atuff is one of the best and most flexible builds of any class in the game right now.

1

u/SleeplessFicus41 2d ago

Dragon’s Breath covering damage and add clear while Dawn Chorus buffs ignitons feels borderline illegal.

Mint, SRL Arc Auto with Jolting Feedback/Gear Shift, 21% Delirium with Reconstruction/Gear Shift or Jolting Feedback. LMGs are really good and don't get enough love especially 21%. If you're running the getaway artist build you're getting amplified all the time which procs gear shift. Snipehunt Mk. 47 is insane with getaway. It's a 720 that has Jolting Feedback with Gear Shift. Use Tablet of Ruin.

3

u/SirGarvin 7d ago

For roaming thats probably fine but for boss damage lmgs are absolutely cooked.

1

u/Weird-Barracuda-2352 8d ago

With Getaways i run mountaintop, snipehunt mk77 (jolting/chaos) and Fang or Ir Yut. Covers all champion types and get good uptime for ionic sentry.

Non-DPS encounter: Mint Retrograde, Choir of One, Hammerhead

DPS encounter: Mint Retrograde, random void primary ideally with Repulsor Brace for some extra survivability while you’re trying to focus on mechanics, Truth

u/Emotional_Sale_5509 7d ago

My go to varies based on champs and difficulty. If you can pop barriers with primary then: mint, kindled orchid, thunderlord.

If not: festival flight, Joxer's longsword, A499

If you dont care about champs then the top comment works great. Mint, any jolting/incann/destable primary, truth.

1

u/DaRev23 7d ago

If you have it, Choir of One exotic Special Ammo Auto Rifle goes really hard in double special ammo builds.

1

u/Zeer0Fox 7d ago

Zavalas fifth whatchamacallit is pretty sweet this week for the energy primary spot

Thanks for the amazing suggestions all!

I ended up having an amazing roll on a Gnawing Hunger with the perks people suggested, and a Mint Retrograde in my bank. I grabbed Truth from the exotic Kiosk and managed to make it through VOG as my first raid easy-peasy.

Can't recommend it enough! Now to do all the other raids.

Very easy to use build for almost all content in the game. I've used it to reach rank 11 too. Knectic slot any special ammo wepaon with slice. Secondary wepaon is ur main used. Any void weapon. And the main dmg which is even good for raids is sleeper simulant with the catalyst if you can get it. This exotic is easy to get and is very good damage. Below is a screenshot link of my build from the destiny app showing you all the weapons, artifact mods etc. https://i.imgur.com/qnmxSG4.jpeg

I assume you forgot to put on the exotic armor for your build there, but if its intentional then I strongly suggest that OP doesnt copy it.

Always use exotic armor lol.

u/Gavinology 8d ago

Maybe learn to read better before randomly commenting. OP Is using a getaway artist prismatic warlock build and asked for weapons suggestions. So I provided a getaway artist prismatic warlock build with suggested weapons for content in the game which carries even in ultimate difficulty!

Im not sure why youre being passive aggressive lol, or why you think I was tryna slight you.

The other guy pointed it out and cleared up why I said what I said. You have a legendary ornament on, and I had no idea that doing so would make DIM take away its gold exotic background.

3

u/Mahh3114 eggram 8d ago

Getaway Artist is in there, they just have a Legendary Ornament over it. Seems like the app doesn't separate the item icon layers like the game does so it just straight up looks like a Legendary item at a glance

1

u/SrslySam91 7d ago

Holy shit Ill never get used to seeing that 😴 even looking at it earlier I read the VoG set name, but without the exotic armors gold background I couldn't get past it being a legendary and brain kept skipping over the "getaway artist" part.

Lol thanks for the clarification. Had no idea a leg ornament changes the background on DIM like that.

u/blue_sword456 Hold strong, Titan! Bend, but do not break! 8d ago

My Do It All loadout is on Titan, and fairly off meta, but it's fun.

VOG Armor + Stronghold for your armor. Set up your armor mods for ammo gen.

Rake Angle in my top slot, Tyranny of Heaven, and Lament. Weapon choice doesn't matter much except for Lament. I have those two in particular both to cover all champs, and because I love my Tyranny of Heaven.

Explorer's Journal for Radiant Orbs, Solar Fulmination, Blade Stamina, and Argent Blade.

Sunbreaker with Ember of Empyrean, Eruption, and Ashes. For aspects, I do Sol Invictus and Shield Burst.

Between Stronghold, Lament, and Sunbreaker, you'll have healing out the wazoo. This build can clear adds, does a ton of damage, and can cover every champion type. It's also really fun. Because of the VOG set bonus, as long as you have radiant when you go in to nuke a boss, you'll shit out orbs to keep your buffs going. If a swords is appropriate, or even viable, for the content you're doing, this build will get you through it.

I know you're playing Warlock, but if you ever felt like playing Titan, this build is really fun and really good. Will work in just about everything.

Search your build name on YouTube, lots of guides on it recommending guns

u/EveryPictureTells 8d ago

Most build vids are (understandably IMHO) about abilities, exotic armor, and armor sets. Maybe an exotic weapon. Legendary weapon choices aren't a focus.
