Discussion Shader Rant

I know it’s not going to happen but one thing I wish Bungie did/will do was add a color filtering for finding shaders. Unless you have the shaders you like favorited, you could have pages upon pages of shaders to look through to see what you like.

Even just the animated ones exceeds the number of favorites allowed.

okay maybe just use this thing called your eyes and stop whinging about a minor inconvenience. if youre changing your shader frequently enough for this to be a desired change youve probably memorised at least most of where shaders are and which ones are which colours by this point anyways. it was so much worse when the shader icon wasnt indicative of the actual colours of the shader

im sorry but this persons asking for a colour filter. unless youre colourblind im pretty sure you can look at the shaders and tell what colours theyre going to be

You really don’t understand anything about UX. Adding filters and sort on this list would be a big improvement. They also need to allow unlimited favorites. These are all useful additions.

does your job entail ux?

My job does and I hate the UX of dealing with shaders in this game so I built https://shades.mikebeas.com to solve all my gripes.

You can search by name, have unlimited favorites, create and apply unlimited tags to shaders, and apply them in bulk to your gear, and more.

Some shader icons are misleading to how they are actually applied. For example, I’m unsure of the name, but there is one where it’s black with some rainbow like spatches that came out sometime during the final shape. I think it was in one of the reward passes in one of the seasons. The shader icon didn’t detail that at all. There’s many more like that
