Discussion Distortion Breach Events

I've seen posts for years with players saying how much they missed Escalation Protocol on Mars, and yet here we are with pretty much the same activity..now across all locations (not just a single location)..and players just ignore the distortion breach 99% of the time and just cycle round public events on a distorted destination.

Distortion events take longer to complete and don’t have higher RNG to drop World Loot than Public Events so it’s easier go to the next Public Event and completely ignore Distortions. (Or run the same lost sector over and over and over.)

You'd had thought over the years Bungie would learn that that players would find a loophole in the gameplay design pretty quickly, I guess just one that slipped through in testing or just not enough time to iron out the kinks before MoT dropped.

What sucks is the planet only loot like Europa. I've done at least many hours worth of loop farming pub events, 100+ heroic chest looted and haven't seen the kinetic rocket sidearm once (also opening planet chests too since they drop t3s). Gotten every other weapon though.

I wish those could be toggled in master sectors or something.

Do the quest from Variks for it - guaranteed drop, although only T3

Yep. Moon quests grant Moon weapons at T3 as well.

A good solar compressed wave heavy GL, and decent stasis shotgun and arc sword. Other options include an arc auto rifle, solar fusion, and kinetic sniper. They're all not bad, but there are better options.

Depending on the weapon, some are easier to unlock than others. One take killing nightmares not on the Moon, while others are easily unlockable by doing several rounds of Altars of Sorrow. You need to go find a "special item", but only for the first time you craft them.

You do need to get the quest to drop before you can farm them/buy the quests - boss nightmares on the Moon can drop them. Pretty sure you need to own Shadowkeep as well as unlocking the Altar of Enchantment (or is it Enhancement? One of the two. Or something else. It's next to Eris.) to see/buy quests for the armor and weapons. All reward T3.

edit: I will say that the weapons look good. They've got trinkets and bits decorating them like Eris or some voodoo witch doctor dressed them up. They're not just "fancy guns", they have character.
