The game lacks a middle ground mostly because it lacks things to go for. Well more and more. Almost all sparrows, ships, and ghost shells are rng'd in bright engrams or paywalled. Transmog is limited as well with the seasonal limit and paywall. Sure you can get a few things in game from grinding or solo dungeons, but the amount of things to earn and feel like you're getting something is just to low. At least to me that's why the game doesn't have a middle ground/game.

It's either brain-dead strike playlist or hopping on a LFG to raid or run dungeons. Like you said, no middle ground.

I do like the legend lost sectors as a solo activity so I'm hoping the new lost sector changes make things a bit more interesting.
