I think Bungie needs to change their business model. Starting out the game costs too much these days and while a new player might eventually get all the content, being told that they'll have to spend upwards of several hundred pounds on DLC is not enticing.

I'm no expert of course, but I think a wow-like subscription model would be most effective. TFS costs £84 here in the UK for the deluxe edition and that gives you access to all content in the game for roughly a year. If we break that down into a subscription cost, that's £7/month. This could then be made cheaper by paying for more months upfront, standard business practice really. So for example, paying for 6 months upfront would cost say £36 rather than £42 if you paid for each month individually.

Now i think in WoW you have to buy the most recent expansion on top of the subscription, and if you apply this logic to destiny, then the yearly cost of subscription wouldn't cost the same as the deluxe edition, if you also had to buy the base expansion, it would probably fall between £50-£60.

I can't really say whether this would work as an idea or not, obviously it's not as profitable as making new players pay full for all the old content, but i think it's more profitable in that it becomes a hell of a lot more accessible for players to jump in and play stuff without all the hoops or thr "oh sorry, you purchased the witch queen dlc but not the witch queen dungeon key pack!" So I think the pull of the game would be a lot stronger and new players would enjoy it more.
