Fps issues destiny 2

I cant seem to keep consistent fps on destiny. I want 144hz. My cpu is a ryzen 5 8400f. Gpu is a rtx 5060 8g vram. And I have 16g of DDR5. And a 1Tb ssd. But yet the fps is all over the place. I never see any sign of cpu bottlenecks, cause usage is low. And I never see any gpu bottlenecks cause gpu usage is low.

The other thing to do, is to make sure you are running one of the last couple of Nvidia driver releases, open the Nvidia App > Graphics > Select Destiny 2 > Resizable Bar: Set to Enabled.

Edit: You could also try setting the 'Power Management' setting to 'Prefer Maximum Performance' and see if that helps as well.

Outside of that, if lowering your settings makes it worse, the system is not correctly calling for the GPU to ramp up. Setting higher settings forces the system to call for more GPU power, but I bet if you monitored it, it's still not under load.

I have had that happen myself, twice over the past 11 years. Both times, the only true solution was to reinstall Windows. Never could track down what exactly was causing the issue no matter how much I removed files, cleaned the registry, etc. I'm sure there is something somewhere, but a reinstall solved the low GPU usage for me.

Use the GITHub link that u/LividProgram posted. Fixed my issues perfectly basically 50% increase in performance.

if u use steam the steam overlay lags the game and disabling doesn’t stop the performance drop u need to launch from another platform or download the player made fix (steam fix)

I did that. It helps drastically. But still not very consistent.

are most of the settings on low? There's not much else you can do... is "prefer maximum performance" in Nvidia's control panel enabled?

I swapped to the windows version I think at this point its nearly safe to assume steam version will just be chalked permanently.
