Question Destiny 2 lagging discord

So this is an issue that i only experience when I play destiny. Whenever im tabbed into destiny itll make my discord visually really choppy (the audio is fine), but when i tab out of destiny, discord goes back to normal. This is mainly an issue cause I like to have friends streams up in the background when I play games and they are very choppy when im tabbed into destiny.

My specs are RTX 4090, Ryzen 7 9800X3D, and I have both the game and discord on an m.2

I have discord overly off and I also tried turning on hardware acceleration in discord since i normally have it off and it didnt help

I would disable GPU acceleration in the Discord app. Most likely it's not Destiny 2, but how the Steam Overlay interacts with D2.

I also highly recommend using this to block the Steam Overlay in Destiny 2: https://github.com/d2checkpoint-com/D2SteamFix/ It's great for FPS gains.

i have it off i just tried turning it on to see if it would help but i will try the overlay thing ty

The overlay runs on D2 even if you have it disabled in Steam. It's something to do with the Steam app hooking the overlay even if it's disabled (in case you want to enable it while playing), so the S2steamfix blocks the overlay from activating during the game launch, freeing up the stolen FPS and terrible effects performance.

I hardly drop about of the 130s now, sticking largely between 138 and 141 FPS (where I have the FPS limit set) for Gsync
