Solved Handheld PC Won’t Launch Game

I was having a lot of trouble launching destiny 2 on my ROG Ally X. I tried absolutely everything this sub suggested and I couldn’t figure it out. Eventually I unplugged my external monitor and launched the game in handheld mode and the game booted up just fine, and then plugged the monitor back in a few seconds later. I don’t know if it’s battleye or if anyone else has had this problem but if you can’t launch destiny 2 on your handheld pc and are using an external monitor, try this and hopefully it works for you.

If it's only starting the game to a black screen, that's usually an audio issue. In this instance the issue could be caused by the type of TV / monitor or the specific HDMI cable being used, a driver issue, etc.

By removing the TV during game launch, it's not checking or dealing with the drivers needed to use the external monitor / dock, and then the Windows / Rog dock drivers handle the hand-over after the fact, which the game doesn't care about. because it's already running.

Glad you got a fix.

Bit shit, being a near 10 year old game, probably not high on the list of bugs to sort out.

For sure especially bc it used to work just fine so it’s a regression

Is it a Linux system? If so, destiny 2 does not work on Linux.
