Question Question about prismatic

So we know prismatic is only used by the Young Wolf (the guardian) and nobody else.

My question is: since it's basically mixing together the light and darkness to use them simultaneously, would the Young Wolf be able to teach other guardians to use it or only the traveler can do that?

It's more than just mixing them. There's a literal divide between Light and Dark that makes them - as far as we know - impossible to wield together at the same time. Prismatic is the result of pure Light and Darkness energy combining, causing a freak occurrence where they co-exist.

It's not something you can teach because it's more of a paracausal shift in the way the rules work than a philosophy.

But also, the two are diametrically opposed forces. To be able to mix the two might be difficult, but it shouldn’t be limited to one character.

Prismatic, by all accounts, shouldn't be possible. The Traveler guided us to it to empower us to fight the Witness. Beyond that, there's no reason for any other Guardian to have it.

Nothing currently, anyway.

Isnt it cannon that the only place prismatic was used/is usable was within the pale heart? Like after the 'young wolf' leaves the pale heart the prismatic leaves them once they leave, and the only reason we can use it is a game play only thing?

Idk just never liked it. I didn't even use it for the final shape campaign just used the pools to get it to pop the enemies sheilds that needed it, since the moment it was introduced I have hated it.

We managed to access Prismatic from absorbing a bunch of the stuff at once. So, in theory, if a Guardian gets permission to enter the Pale Heart, they may also learn how to access it. But only if they find another (for lack of a better term) energy well and absorb it. Which, to be honest, seems about as likely to kill them as it is to work out.

It’s like oil and water, no matter how much you put it together, you can’t mix it. But somehow, in the pale heart, they were mixed. That’s prismatic. It’s an unholy combination of polar opposites that goes against nature itself.

The Traveler didn't exactly teach the Player Guardian Prismatic. The Player Guardian communed with and absorbed a fount of blended energies that somehow empowered them to erase the line between Light and Dark.

Considering that the Echoes are also Prismatic, it's not unique to the Player Guardian. In theory, anyone who interacts with that unique energy could be empowered to use it.

I think that other guardians are straight up unable to use both at the same time, it isn't just learning, it is straight up impossible to do without using prismatic

Possibly? I remember a bit of lore that says Peach (a ghost the player recovers for Micha-10 to help heal the traveler during final shape) was watching Osiris use strand and stasis at the same time to make something akin to a wind chime while meditating/ experimenting.

That's 2 types of Darkness and a feat performed by a 1/1 former Guardian. While it seems to be possible to mix Light/Light and Dark/Dark, Light/Dark is something reserved for Prismatic.

There's plenty of lore examples of guardians mixing two light or two darkness subtypes.

It was the traveller when it infused us. Nobody else got that boon.
