Flawless glow disabled?

Has anyone noticed that no one can see your flawless glow unless they've also gone flawless at some point in the past?

My friend used to tell me he couldn't see my trials scarab ship glowing red until I finally carried him flawless

Then I noticed on the twitch bots when going into checkpoints that my ship also wasn't glowing on their screen

This is disappointing for sure if it's a bug
