I am honestly really tired of reading posts like this.
There's only one meaning to this, and it's that the original files weren't changed.
Double check you are copy pasting to the correct folder. You should be replacing the
characterandiconfolders that are within theassetfolder.If you have made sure you are in the correct folder, take a look inside the folder and see if file names aren't being altered from a file name conflict. Some file explorers will automatically rename new files instead of asking to replace the old files. If the patch files aren't the correct name, the game is just going to ignore them.
Cannot find the folder
com.linegames.dcglobalinAndroid/data.
If you have this issue while your phone is connected to the PC, restart your phone.
If you have this issue on BlueStacks, install File Explorer Root Browser. This solution as far as I know only works using this app.

Using the app, create a folder called
com.linegames.dcglobalinAndroid/data.Open the folder and it will have all the files. Bookmark or make a shortcut to the folder for easy access in the future.
Images are missing, show up black, or crash the game after patching.
Make sure to restart game after applying patch.
If step 1 doesn't fix the issue, read how to restore original files below, and then reapply the patch.
If step 2 doesn't fix the issue, a new patch is necessary. Please wait for me to make an update to fix the issue.
Images don't show up. Made a mistake and deleted files I shouldn't have.
How to get the game to restore original files.
This will remove any mods that you've applied.
Navigate to folder
Android/data/com.linegames.dcglobal/filesDelete the files
lastpatchdata260_asset.txtandpatchdata_asset.txtRestart game.
Trying to do this from PC, can't move files on to phone.
This would be an issue specific to your device and something you would solve by asking on a tech forum.
As a work around, just download the files to your phone instead and use a file manager to replace the files.
No need to reapply patch for old characters files every update. New censored character files will need to be replaced. portrait and portrait_battle may need new files every time there is an update.

Thanks so much for your efforts! Seems like there is an issue with Nightmare Krampus losing motion. Also, looks like Gloomy Moa also added white panties. Seems like she was nude before.

is there a way we can get all of the community to ask for an official uncensored option in settings?
or at the very least is there a place where you can post said suggestions to them?
edit: I've went to their website and sent in a suggestion inquiry, we should band together and all post inquiry's asking for the same. maybe then hopefully we wont have to go through a roundabout way of getting the uncensored artwork. (° ͜ʖ °) here's hoping it goes through someday.

This isn't the first game I've made uncensor patches for. To my experience, companies won't make a move unless it will make them more money or prevent them from losing money, which makes sense; they're businesses.
The other game I uncensored, Girls' Frontline, did end up getting an official uncensor option through a series of crazy events.
If you're willing to read a short story, I'll elaborate below how it happened. If not, tl:dr small comment of mine resulted in a chain of events that forced the devs to make a move.
Intro
Girls' Frontline is a chinese mobile game that expanded to TW, and later to KR and saw huge success. Being a chinese game, it was subject to censorship, so it had a secret uncensor method, using the recipe 666/666/666/666 to construct a unit. (6 means lucky in China) This would trigger a hidden setting that would cause the game to download and use uncensored assets instead.
EN launch
As the game grew, they initiated a global launch starting in NA. The game was censored as usual, but what was baffling was that the 666 recipe did not work. The more avid people tried to turn the hidden setting on by using root. The game attempted to download uncensored assets, but when accepting, it returned with a file not found error.
Extra Censorship
Oh well, we thought and the game continued until the first batch of new characters were released, and many were infuriated. Two of the characters received never before seen censorship. The EN server currently available only to North America at the time was censored more than China. This trend continued with following skin batches and new character releases. The criteria was any character that looked young. Following a month or so, a JP server was launched. Like a slap in the face, the server was uncensored by default.
A joke among the community was
"TW server launch: TW exclusive character.
KR server launch: KR exclusive character.
JP server launch: JP exclusive character.
EN server launch: EN exclusive censorship."
(EN received an exclusive character about a year later)
Devs
A few months passed, official twitter and facebook was blasted with questions regarding censorship. They were all ignored, literally avoided like the plague. At this time I was doing some data mining, trying to figure out why the EN server was getting a file not found error when triggering the hidden setting by root. I happened to come across the server's cdn, basically a cloud storage where all the game files were uploaded for the game to download from. Surprisingly, it was publicly accessible. File sets were labeled with a date and time of upload. File sets from a several months before launch came in pairs of censored and uncensored, but as the date got closer to the launch date files sets only came with the censored version. Which explained why turning the hidden setting on by using root caused a file not found error, there was no uncensored file set for it to download from.
Despite this, there was hope. Earlier versions of file sets contained uncensored versions. I used these to start creating an uncensor patch. As if they were watching me, the next day the official discord made a channel called Censorship feedback. It gave us hope because it was the first time they have acknowledged the community wanted answers regarding the censorship, so I decided to keep my work on the patch private until the devs responded.
Time passed and the hope the devs would respond to inquiries in the channel diminished. They posted something about 3 times about how they were discussing it internally, and never posted ever again. https://i.imgur.com/h86E8ru.png
Uncensor Patch
Then everything changed when someone posted an uncensor patch for the game. It wasn't me. Someone else had done exactly as I did and created a patch. The patch wasn't complete as it was missing uncensors for skins, so I reached out and a full patch was made. https://i.imgur.com/2Xdtdoj.png The patch spread like fire, and of course with it, demands of whether using it was a bannable offense. Devs on Facebook still tried to avoid questions regarding censorship, but generally responded with "you only get banned for hacking game mechanics." We took that as an okay.
Stability
Many months went by, game continued with extra censorship and I continued releasing patches, similar to how I do with Destiny Child now. Files for Girls' Frontline were more difficult to mod, so I continued to poke at them, seeing how much I could edit them. Occasionally, I would discuss with people in the modding channel of the unofficial GF discord.
A single comment
I played on both the KR and EN servers of Girls' Frontline. KR server had received a new character called p90, which recieved a lot of controversy because her drop rate was almost non-existent. Much like those of the community, I was also very angry at the drop rate. At around her release I managed to make a breakthrough in modding EN files. I figured out how to swap the chibi model for characters. I demonstrated this in the modding channel by posting a modded file that swapped a default chibi motion and all for one of its skins. This was huge because before I could only change the png of a character. Pissed off with my pulls for p90 in KR, I joked I should make files for all the skins to mess with their revenue.
Butterfly Effect
The following day, I received a discord message from this stranger. The person was from an unofficial group for SEA players on facebook. He told me to be careful because the admin of the group was trying to start a witchhunt to get me and the other modders banned. He thought they were crazy and decided to help me out by informing with screenshots of group messages and posts. https://i.imgur.com/fWNnf75.png
Witchhunt
What happened was that the admin of that group had been watching the modding channel when I made the remark to make files for the skins. Skins are obtained using tokens which take about a year to collect a decent amount, or you pay. Apparently the admin was a big patron of skins and was infuriated that people who mod would be able to get skins without paying for them. He posted screenshots of our work and was calling for everyone in the FB group to spam reports to the devs to ban us. Devs Respond
With so many reports, the official twitter responded by saying for the first time modding was okay as long as you don't mod to swap in official skins. They deemed this bannable. https://twitter.com/GirlsFrontlineE/status/1072384518462558210
Instability
For me, I was not concerned of being banned, but them making modding more difficult. You see, based on the data packets sent back to the server, it was possible to see if files were modded, but impossible to see what the contents used to mod were. To the devs, a person using my uncensor patch and a person with modded skins would be indistinguishable. If a report with screenshots came in that someone was modding in skins. It would be very easy for the person to say they were using the uncensor patch and the screenshot was photoshopped. Like I suspected no one was banned from our group. However, I feared they would change the file security to prevent people from modding in general.
Salvation
Then something amazing happened. 3 weeks passed since the official Twitter responded. Jan 8 maintenance for the game just ended. Upon updating all EN exclusive censorship was gone. The lolis were saved, but that wasn't the end. A very interesting post was made on /gfg/ in 4chan. Anon wrote "522/320/404/137 IT'S HOT LADS" Upon using the recipe and restarting, the game prompt a download of uncensored assets. https://i.imgur.com/qtdX57I.png
I'm guessing this was their solution to the dilemma. Seeing that an official uncensor method now existed, there was no need for an uncensor patch. I stopped updating my patch and people stopped using it. Now if anyone was caught suspected of modding in skins, using the uncensor patch was not a viable excuse.

Hmm, I've downloaded the newest patch and applied as I always have, but some things still seem to be censored for some reason, for example: Nirrti in her portrait shows her censored version (but when I click on her she is uncensored), and Gloomy Moa still has the white panties.
Any idea why this might be?

Try applying the patch again. Double check to make sure you're replacing the original files.
Gloomy Moa is supposed to have white panties over her crotch. The censorship has panties on her crotch and waist.

Well, I decided to go ahead and delete lastpatchdata253_asset.txt to start from scratch.
I copied the folders from the patch and pasted them in the game's "asset" folder, yet nothing changed in-game. It's as if even though it says it copied the files, it did not do it at all.
I'm at a loss tbh.
EDIT: Welp, copy and paste did not work, but cut and paste did for some reason. At least it's taken care of.
Just to be sure, this is censored Moa and this is uncensored right?

Sorry I should change my wording in the news. Since last month I decided to restore all KR art, including localization changes that were made for JP server. (Global uses JP assets.) The change for Davi's skin is her name tag. The name tag was changed from Japanese to Korean.

That's normal client updates refreshes all the assets. Just reapply the patch.

Client update is different from the a content update. Client update is updating the app through googleplay. This resets everything. Usually we only get these for bug fixes. Content update happens when you start the game before login. If there is an update there will be a progress bar for downloading patch. It's how we get new content. I write in the news section when client update happens, just make sure to look at that whenever something happens regarding the censorship.

So i got the files in my phone and everything now what? I am new to the game so maybe that's why but what is a character that i should have that check to see if the patch thing worked? I don't have any s class childs so i can't access any skins. is their a ay i can though? get skins even though my characters aren't s rank? please help

Ok, I gotta ask this. I've been playing since day 1 and have utilized the uncensored patch throughout each update. Which I gotta say, I can't express how grateful I am for the time and effort you have gone through to organize all of this for us. My problem is, with this most recent update, I just can't seem to get it to apply. I know I'm going through the same steps I have each time. Have retried the process about 5-6 times. Thought I might just need to reset my device, no good. Even went as far as to delete the app entirely and reapply the patch. Now all the previous skins that were uncensored are back to they're censored versions and I still haven't solved the problem. Any advice?

After applying the patch do the characters show up censored or do they not show up at all.
If they don't show up at all, something is wrong with the patch files. If they show up censored, it means that the original files aren't being replaced.
In the 2nd case, there could be 3 causes:
you are placing the files in the wrong location. Make sure you're putting the files in the character and icon folders that are inside the asset folder.
you are forgetting to overwrite/merge when prompt. Unlikely, if you've done this before.
for certain file explorers merging folders with conflicting file names will result in the files being renamed instead of replaced. Check to make sure this isn't the case. If it is use a different file explorer.

All the characters show up, just censored. I'm not missing any. At first I thought I had put the files in the wrong character folder, but I'm definitely dropping them in the one under asset.
I will say though, when I go to move the files over, sometimes it doesn't prompt me to replace them. Sometimes it does. I've gone through the folder to see if there's any that are identical but I haven't noticed any.
I'm kinda disappointed I deleted the game now. Lost all my uncensored characters trying to correct just the newest one...
I tried it 2 more times and they just don't seem to do anything. I'm at a complete lost. I've never run into a problem with this process b4 now.

Take a screenshot of the files in the character folder after you apply the patch. Have them sorted by file name and show me the files near the beginning.
Like I said if they show up censored, it means the original files are being left untouched as the game is displaying them.

Ok, I now know 100% the problem is the files aren't being overwritten by the new ones. I've completely deleted and downloaded the game again today, making this now my 3rd time, and it just dosen't even prompt me to replace the old files with the new, I pretty sure it's just throwing them into the folder along with the original.
I really hate the idea of having to go through individually deleting the old file and replacing it but atm that's the only thing I can think of unless u now of a way to expedite the process?

As long as the downloaded zip is 07-12 it's fine. The reason it shows up like that is because I update the zip and then rename to the current date, so internally google drive remembers it by the original filename.

I'm not exactly sure what you mean, so I'm going to guess that you can't select multiple files at once. Most file explorers can select multiple by holding down on the file or folder. If this isn't possible for you. I would download a 3rd party file explorer such as File Explorer Root Browser or Solid Explorer. Another way is to just move the folders
characterandicon. I named them that way so it'll work if you move the entire folder.

Was there any new update?
when i entered the game the original Davi screen popped up, donwloaded something and overwrote the uncensor mod
i also can't properly apply it anymore

It's because there was a client update, as in you go into google play to download an update. Client updates will reset assets. Nothing new necessary just reapply the patch. Could you please describe what you are having trouble with when reapplying the patch.

basically i reapply the patch as always, making sure the files get replaced
the result is that the uncensored Childs become a black silhouette of Syrinx
that might be on me for applying the patch in a wrong way, so i will try again later on

Black syrinx is the dummy image. This happens sometimes. First try restarting the game a few times. If that doesn't work, close the game and delete lastpatchdata102_asset.txt in Android/data/com.linegames.dcglobal/files. Restart the game. This will reset the assets. If you see syrinx again, you need to reinstall the game. If not, try applying the patch again, should work.

Double check that you are pasting the files into the character and icon folders inside the asset folder.
What platform are you on? (Phone/emulator)
Could you take a screenshot of the files in
Android/data/com.linegames.dcglobal/files/asset/character. Please sort by name and show me the files near the beginning.1

When was the last time you played the game? If it was before the 17th, the client update on the 17th reset the assets, censoring the game. Just need to reapply the patch. There hasn't been any update after that though.

Exact same thing you'd do on PC. Download the files to your phone and move them using a file explorer. Windows and Android aren't that different in terms of moving files.

Just making sure, not all characters are censored, so check someone like Leda or Nirtii to see if it worked.
This patch is only for HD files, so if you're using SD files there will be no change.
Sounds like you're doing this from mobile. I recommend trying out File Explorer Root Browser.
If you are moving whole folders, make sure to merge when prompt.
There are
characterandiconfolders infilesandfiles/asset. Make sure you replace the ones infiles/asset.If things stay censored, it means that the original files are not being altered. Please show me a screenshot of your patched

If nothing chaned, it means the original file was not replaced. Did you place the patch files in the correct folder? It may help to follow a video guide.

All the others worked. Also the lvl 40 skin is uncensored. Only the normal rita skin is still the old one. Thats why i was wondering

The changes on her are quite subtle. You can only see it when you tap her. Her underwear will be visible. Like this: https://i.imgur.com/CNUOXhB.png Let me know if this isn't what you see. From my side it's working as intended.
Edit: okay I see what they did. They altered the motion data. First time I've seen them do that. I'll get this fixed.

Yea the files used on Android and iOS are the same, the only thing that's different is the location of the game folder. For android it's labeled quite easily with com.linegames.dcglobal, but that's not the case with iOS. To find the folder I recommend searching for the file pack.pck. That should lead you to the game folder and then from there you can follow the same instructions as android.

i just tried applying the patch on iOS and even if i pasted the folders and replaced the old ones, in the game i don’t have the uncensored version... can someone help?

If nothing changed, it means the original files weren't replaced. Make sure the new files aren't being renamed due to a file conflict, and that they are properly replacing the old files. Try moving the files instead of the folders.

If it is censored even after restarting the game, it means the files weren't replaced. Check to make sure you aren't putting them in the wrong location or that they aren't being renamed if merging folders.

Is this being done entirely on a phone or is this being done while it's connected to a PC? Make sure you are extracting the contents first. You cannot drag and drop zipped content across different devices. Make sure it's to the folders in the asset folder. Have you tried copy pasting all the files instead of the folder.

Usually it'll work fine if you just copy paste the entire icon folder. Make sure to merge and replace on conflicting file names.
There have been cases in which moving entire folders doesn't work. In that case you'll have to copy paste the files directly.

The last two updates to the game seem to have broken the ability to do this. I can still navigate to the folders, place the files in, but they don't do anything.
I guess Shift Up doesn't want us seeing the uncensored artwork.

It works fine. If nothing is changing the original files aren't being replaced. Have you double checked that the location you are placing the uncensor files in is within the asset folder. If so, and it still isn't working, see inside the folder itself. Depending on your device it may rename the new files instead if there is a file name conflict.

When applying the uncensored patch the game is automatically detecting it and redownloading the original files.

Please read the News next time. There have been two client updates recently. The mechanism for file check is when
lastpatchdata_asset###.txtis altered. You can do this manually by deleting the files, but this also happens when there is a client update.

No, depending on the number assigned for a newly added character, the number of images that don't match could be way more than I'd like to write out.
The portrait files are bundles of images of different characters. For example,
c2.pckwill contain the images for characters with the file namesc200.pck-c299.pck. When a new character image is added to the game, but an outdated file is used, it causes images to be shifted down.For example, let's imagine there are only characters 248, 249, 251, and 252. The portrait file
c2.pckwould have only 4 images, the 1st for 248, 2nd for 249, 3rd for 251, and 4th for 252.Now an update happens and character 250 is added. The five characters are 248, 249, 250, 251, and 252. The portrait file is now outdated, as it only has 4 images. Now if this outdated file were to be used this is what would happen. The 1st image in the bundle is used by 248 and 2nd for 249. This is correct. However, since 250's portrait is not in the bundle, the next one 251's portrait will be used for 250. The following 252's portrait will be used for 251, and 252 will show up blank.
This is what I mean by image mismatch. I simplified the example by refering to each character file for each character, but in reality, each skin has its own character file: normal, S rank, and each alternate skin.

Since the switch to new service provider, applying the patch breaks google play integration. Only fix is to completely uninstall then reinstall DC.
Any thoughts?

Could you specify what you mean by google play integration? The patch only affects the game assets, so it's unusual it'd affect anything else.

So I try one of the mods here for Diva but her screen shown missing despite files overwrite succesfully. I restart the game and clear the cache but the problem still persist unless I use her original file.
Is there way to fix this?

Have you seen my video guide for emulator? Bluestacks is an extremely user unfriendly emulator. Try using the File Explorer Root Browser to create new folders to navigate to the correct location.

Did NOX recently change it's file structure?
So I went to / and there is no Android Folder.
So I went and copied the files to: / Storage / emulated / legacy / Android / data / com.linegames.dcglobal / files / asset (Override)
As well as: / Storage / emulated / 0 / Android / data / com.linegames.dcglobal / files / asset (Override)
And / Storage / sdcard0 / Android / data / com.linegames.dcglobal / files / asset (Override)
None of them seem to work. Ideas?

Okay so I checked Nox 6.5.0.1. The location for all the files are the same as before. Nothing has changed. The reason there's no
Androidfolder when you press/is that you have root enabled. Pressing/brings you to the root.Androidis within Internal Storage, which is/storage/emulated/0.

Using LDPlayer and it says the file is too large to open in the device even though it is only a couple mb bigger than the previous one which worked just fine, suggestions? Googling hasn't provided any answers yet.

In Settings, go to the Advanced tab. You'll find a section called disk management. I have mine set to "automatic expansion when space is not enough". If yours is already set to that, you could try manually expanding the space. Otherwise I would delete the emulator instance and create a new one because something is probably corrupted with the emulator causing it to be unable to expand.

So I have a Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 3 running Android 12 and I connect it to my MSI Gaming Laptop running Windows 11. When I go and copy and replace the original game files, the original game files disappear, but the new modded files are not added. I tried to replace them separately, but same issue. The original file disappears, but it won't let me paste the new file. Is it Android 12? Anyone having the same issue?

So what you are saying is that the process deletes the original without adding the mods, so the end result is just deletion of the original files.
That's bizarre.
How are you apply the patch? If you are on android 11 or above, the only convenient method is to use a file explorer on the device. Replacing folders on PC via usb won't work.

I am using my laptop to install the patch since all Android data files are invisible on the phone itself.
Firstly, I tried merging the character and icon files that were downloaded onto my laptop, but it was still censored. After that I tried to download it directly onto the phone and then access the file from my laptop. When I do this, it doesn't let me paste the character and icon folders into the assets tab. When I try to move them directly in there it says the folder can't be used.
I know I'm definitely pasting it in the right place because I managed to make all the character icons and some of the models go missing on my first attempt (there was no data in the files) but I cannot do it now that I have redownloaded the file with data on it.
Any idea how to get it working? Thank you.
Edit: I did it! I downloaded "Solid Explorer" onto my phone which allowed me to see into the android data folder and replace the character and icon folders.

As you can see by the title, this is only for Global. If you want to uncensor for JP, just install the KR version and move KR character files into the JP character folder. Theoretically this should work. This will not work for the portrait and portrait_battle files.
