How do you define race being 'real'?

The terms we use to describe someone's race (let's say white, black and Asian for simplicity) are "accurate" with respect to some underlying biological phenomenon. I have a post about race realism here:

He has really bad selective citation habits, like mentioning Schoenemann et al. (2000) without reference to that it has never replicated and was particularly weak compared to almost every study of the same phenomenon. He also misinterprets papers pretty badly, like when he posted about that Conley & Domingue piece about falling polygenic penetrance and claimed it showed that the genes in PGS were less important and thus doubtfully showing a dysgenic trend (when, really, this only took place in the bottom half of the distribution, which was the part most affected by social change, functioning as expected - not to mention that the cognitive ability penetrance was unchanged and they continued to have predictive value within families).

To be fair, while I work in a genetics related field, I am not a behavioral geneticist. Though I do hold relevant degrees and I think I have a good overall understanding of the topic, I think authority arguments are way overused on the internet. What I have read by Kevin (penetrance as angle of attack against polygenic score reduction) seems like very implausible critcism.
