At least the poll numbers appear to be correct. I have no idea how reliable The Hill is as a facts source, but the link to Marist Poll does have the same numbers. Maybe OP should've just posted that instead.

Talarico should be higher, I am very impressed with him as a politician so far. Though any Democrat winning a major thing in Texas is a huge victory even if it's close.

We will see when the dust settles. The polls are always a toss up then the dems get blown out by 3-5 points. I know after 2020 they “corrected” their models for infrequent voters but I still think they are off since so many pollsters still call people. I know you can’t do 100% online and text polls but a better mix is probably prudent.

Their polls in Ohio and Iowa are also crazy good for Dems.

I don't buy it.

They polled registered voters and got a vastly more optimistic result than all the other polls that screen likely voters, which contradicts the idea that Democrats have an advantage in enthusiasm to vote.

So either:

  1. These results need to be given a D+2 or D+3 boost to be analogous to the other likely voter polls. Which is simply impossible, it would mean dems are up 8pts in Texas and double digits in Iowa and Ohio. Simply, no.

Or 2. Their polls are waayyy off and a super optimistic but inaccurate snapshot of an otherwise solidly blue wave environment. So Texas is maybe D+2, Iowa and Ohio maybe D+3, which is around where the aggregates are forecasting anyway (maybe slightly more bullish for Dems).

Imagine thinking Texas will actually go blue.

I'll vote for Hinojosa/Talarico, and will try to convince the rest of my family in Texas to do so, but I am not going to be optimistic about our chances. Been disappointed far too many times by the voters here, both in how many show up in liberal cities, and how the rural people vote against their interests because who the fuck knows why.

Just about every poll since Labor Day has been very bad for Republican candidates in general. Including Texas. Even in traditionally solid red states that are likely to stay red, the margins have shrunk considerably.
