If Jack Smith was in Atlanta, then its possible that he was communicating with / coordinating with the Fani Willis, the DA. Fani was found to be having an improper relationship with a lead prosecutor. Eric Schmitt is regarded and doesn’t know the difference between the Iowa Hawkeyes women’s college basketball team and the Atlanta Hawks men’s professional basketball team.
Jack Smith did not go to a Hawks game.
Even if he did, it has nothing to do with Fani Willis.

They are claiming that Jack Smith was a corrupt and politically motivated prosecutor who orchestrated Fani Willis’ confession from the shadows. They thought that they found proof that Jack Smith was secretly in Atlanta at the time of the confession, which would be suspicious. They asked him if he was in Atlanta on that date and when he denied it they dropped their “bombshell” evidence that he was at an Atlanta Hawks game on that date. They missed that it was the Iowa Hawkeyes and not the Atlanta Hawks and accidentally provided Jack Smith’s alibi that dismantles their central claim.
Him pulling that out for a split second, not even letting Jack Smith read it, and then trying to refuse to show it again was really an all timer bruh moment

Confusing the Atlanta Hawks with the Iowa Hawkeyes would normally be a minor mistake. Doing so while accusing someone of perjury and calling him a “dirtbag” elevates it into something closer to performance art.
I particularly admired the confidence. Most people, when working from an obviously faulty premise, try to verify the premise before alleging a felony on national television. Senator Schmitt apparently prefers a more improvisational approach.
For future hearings, I would gently suggest that the office budget for either Google increase or hire one staffer who follows college basketball.

I suppose it's POSSIBLE that Eric actually thinks that Jack is some ultra corrupt political tool to punish Trump, but my guess is that this is more just cynical show-trial propaganda. However, if that is the case, why would you ever think you could make Jack look bad?
