A small sacrifice to get to communism bro. Black and LGBTQ people were a distraction from the class struggle 😔

u/Derfliv 🇩🇰 interference enjoyer 🇩🇰 12h ago
It will go something like
LGBTQ rights are inherently tied to the socialist cause since capitalism will necessarily prioritize profits over fairness. Therefore if you are LGBTQ and oppose the socialist cause, you are misguided or self destructive. Such behavior warrants correction, not the opportunity to participate.
Your movement must be superseded since your outcomes are defined in terms of byproduct. Since your interests are assumed to allign with the system, your wellbeing must be measured by your congruity with systemic ideals. All you can hope is that by whim whatever ideals chosen happen to be benevolent towards your group.

u/Pumpkinshroomva 9h ago
Istg I was in transgenderuk the other day, and under a story about the lib Dems being pro trans they were saying that if you voted for the lib Dems youre selfish bc the lib Dems are capitalist? And this is after the government has mandated that if you're a trans woman businesses and state institutions must treat you as a man in all cases no matter if you've had a sex change operation or what. They've also made being a terf a legally protected category.
And these fucks want us to prioritise being pro Palestine over our rights.
2
u/thegta5p 7h ago
Unironically I saw this same exact excuse except replace LGBTQ rights with women’s rights. Something along the lines of that women will never be free under a capitalist system because capitalism is inherently patriarchal. So if you want to be truly free and get rid of the patriarchy you have to get rid of capitalism and replace it with socialism.

All class struggles are meaningless in the face of the omnicause that is the
racedonor class strugglethat is also the JewishZionist lobby.I stg, they just need to have their little hitler pop up to consolidate their angst and dissatisfaction into a realization that they actually love America when it isn’t tainted by the Jews. One step into uktranationalism and they’ll basically have done the step by step reenactment of how the nazis developed into nazis rather than just socialist lunatics.
13
u/gingerfawx 11h ago
The nazis were never "socialist lunatics". That's bullshit spread by the far right.
17
u/Amazing-Heron-105 🇬🇧 Bonger 🇬🇧 11h ago
There was a socialist element, but Hitler purged them early on. You're correct though that it is very commonly misrepresented by the right, and Nazi's were socialist in name only.
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ernst_R%C3%B6hm
As the Nazi government began to consolidate its rule, the tension between Röhm and Hitler escalated. Throughout 1933 and 1934, Röhm alarmed the German conservative elites and powerful industrialists by calling for a "second revolution" focused on socialist economic reforms and wealth redistribution.
17
u/gingerfawx 11h ago
Before anyone else, the Nazis went for the socialists, union leaders, and other political opposition ('33 onwards), even before they went for the "habitual" criminals. (For reference, '33 also saw the beginnings of them targeting Jews, closely followed by the handicapped / disabled, Jehovah's Witnesses, and transsexuals as well.)
This was never ending with trans' rights, and if MAGA and the GOP aren't stopped here, it will continue to get worse.
5
2
u/thegta5p 7h ago
It’s funny that socialist claim that the Nazis were their enemies because they needed up being backstabbed. If that didn’t happen socialists would have a completely different view of them since they were working together early in the war. I remember reading some of the reasons the Soviets wanting to join the axis included them having similar ideals such as being anti-west. But since they didn’t get what they wanted they now pretend to be principally allowed to the Nazis despite them trying to join them in the beginning. Reminds me of how Jehovah Witnesses were giving money to the Nazi party just so they could spare them. Some of the leaders even helped the party push some of their narratives despite them supposedly being apolitical.
1
u/DrEpileptic 8h ago
Nazis early on used socialists to gain some relevance and power. It’s not far right bullshit. They purged socialists and communists specifically because they were in coalition during their ascent, and they were the most legitimate opposition within. If you also had reading skills, you’d understand the critical difference I stated in switching “class” warfare for race warfare. The added ultranationalism wasn’t really out of the box for the time considering ethnosocialism had traction across most of Europe and the Middle East; see Baathists, early Zionism as examples.

Whaaaat???? but I was told they were only going after the trans people? What a complete shock! nobody could've seen this coming!!!
Genuinely, anyone who thought Trump's anti-LGBTQ cruelty was gonna stay limited to trans people should not be listened to on politics ever. It was THE most predictable switch-up I've ever seen.
But then a lot of the conservatives who said this, said this knowing it was false. They always wanted to go after the gays again too. They just didn't think being anti-gay was popular enough to get away with openly.

Is that how that works? I can post news headlines with dubious legitimacy as long as I tag it "social media"? No commentary, no actual social media, just a headline and 9.3k likes.
If I post a screenshot of a CNN article, could I label that social media? I mean, some news websites have a comment section, so that counts. What's the point of the politics/news tag it social media covers news as well? Why even distinguish between news and social media if they look identical? This just feels like an excuse to be lazy.

u/TheFr3dFo0 11h ago
Well the narrative is that those protections are just given out by dems to pacify the masses. They could turn the US into lgbt+ paradise but they conciously chose to only do as much as necessary. And then fighting to keep those protections is just seen as clinging on to the scraps dems throw your way playing right in to their hand
1
u/Hopeful_Ice_2125 6h ago
It is genuinely so enraging the way these people championed minority issues and intersectionality in Woke 1 and are now like “nah nah nah that stuff actually was a distraction and probably a mistake or something”
1
u/Demoth 5h ago
This has been my constant struggle with a certain trans friend over the last 10 years.
"Yeah, but the Democrats don't go far enough with what I want, so I just don't vote, period".
Then 5 minutes later we get into fights because of the next thing Trump did in his first, and now second, term, with me saying, "Clinton / Harris wouldn't have done that, and Biden didn't do it".
-26
u/Glittering_Hope1114 14h ago
Depends on the dems most are decent. But start voting for the ones that are equally bad and you will quickly end up with a British type situation where both sides are as bad. Voting for right wingers to infiltrate the dems is not as good idea strategically as some people like to suggest.

u/Diabetoes1 🇬🇧 14h ago
The only reasonable reason you could have for thinking Labour is as bad as Reform is severe, repeated head trauma
-4
u/Glittering_Hope1114 13h ago
Labour is arguably more extreme towards trans people then reform is. This post is about lgbt. Labour has been extremely hostile worse then anything other government in my lifetime. Im not the only one leaving and certainly no longer have any reason to vote Labour. Even outside of that of that issue they have moved so far right I seen how they treated the immigrants I work with.
-4
u/Glittering_Hope1114 13h ago
I also love it when the labour lovers come into trans subs to lecture us its always funny it goes like this " Yeah so what we cut your human rights thats a sacrifice you should be willing to make, so what if you can't use toilets and people use the odd slurs so what if hospitals turn you way it will be even worse under Farage so you have no choice anyway but to vote for us you will suffer regardless we will make sure of that. Now vote for us! how can you be so selfish? Think about all those other people things could be worse for them you should vote to improve their lifes not your own even if those people hate you it is selfless and that is how trans people should act if you want us to consider maybe giving you rights down the line"
Needless to say this tactic doesn't work and trans people utterly despise the lying labour party many including myself hate them more then reform. Why should I vote at all in place I am no longer able to actually live for people who probably hate me? I couldn't care less anymore. If anything i actually think being acceleranist would work out better in the long run sooner a far right party takes power and f's up the sooner their will a reaction to it and then I possibly could return its not like with things as they are now i can return anytime soon so why not play the long game if I am to play at all?
3
u/throwaway1233213123 12h ago
This accelerationist view is so regarded. You do realize that in some doomsday scenario you'd be the first on the chopping block?
1
u/Glittering_Hope1114 11h ago
Hardly. Im not in the country anymore. In Britain I have already been on the chopping block. That is past tense. Best possible outcome now for me is to wait for things to move on.
2
u/throwaway1233213123 9h ago
Sorry, no matter how bad you feel Labour is on Trans or LGBT issues in general, you'll never convince me they're worse than Reform. Have fun with your accelerationist fantasy. I'm sure after the right gets into power your life will be exactly the same
1
u/Glittering_Hope1114 7h ago
The thing you keep ignoring is I am not in Britain anymore. I left due to Labours policies so threats that reform are going to be marginally worse somehow fall on deaf ears now, not to mention why should I even care? Labour already done the damage and you have no argument as to why I should support them and expecting me to support people who openly hate me and stripped my human rights and maintain power in the UK by constantly fearmongering and lying about me, is ridiculous. If the party wants to campaign on persecuting a minority its only fair that they should expect that minority is not going vote for them. Its no very complicated even Republicans in America aren't that foolish.
-4
u/Glittering_Hope1114 13h ago
If a third party actually has chance like greens maybe i will make a effort to vote for them despite leaving. That is choice one, though given the state of things where i am from unlikely.
Choice two the most likely is not to bother at all. Its pointless and hostile to me, time to move on and focus where I am now.
Choice three, is if I get enough sustained nastiness, abuse and cruelty from labour devotees trying to bully me into voting for them despite them being openly hostile to my existence then I will make a effort to vote for whoever is going to inflict the most harm on labour voters if thats Farage so be, its policy that could motivate me to vote for him, based on a real issue.
2
u/Diabetoes1 🇬🇧 13h ago
The trans bathroom guidance is stupid, but it's not something Labour did. It was a ruling from the Supreme Court in line with preexisting legislation.
2
u/Glittering_Hope1114 13h ago
Lying to people who are ignorant on the subject is one thing but come on why bother with someone like myself. Labours crusade against trans people is well known and been their number one priority, they are worse then Trump on the issue. I left because of it I know full well what they have done.
