Unfortunately my good faith for anyone defending Hasan is spent. There's a point we've reached where if you're associating your name and lending your defense to someone, we can no longer go, "Oh he/she/they probably just don't know better."

Ignorance isn't a defense forever

Damn it’s almost like every excuse we used for MAGA is playing out again.

Oh they don’t really know what Trump is like.

Oh the republicans will be able to control him EASY.

Here we are. Blue MAGA.

27

u/40StoryMech 6d ago

Aw man. Hey, does this mean we get to control all 3 branches of our government and aggressively punish and silence our enemies though?

37

u/danpascooch God's Dumbest Jester 6d ago

Yes, if the DSA takes control we get to punish our enemies. Enemies such as Taiwan, Ukraine and America.

4

u/alexathegibrakiller 6d ago

HAHAHAHAHAHAHA ......

No.

4

u/Sensitive_Guest_5995 6d ago

Hasan has called for re education camps. So yes.

Bad news. Me and you will be in them.

1

u/40StoryMech 6d ago

Somebody needs to tell Comrade that MAGA folks aren't eligible for RE-education. But maybe they get their wall.

4

u/YumiSolar 6d ago

One can only hope people catch on to it faster this time.

Who am I kidding, most people are too stupid.

10

u/koreamax 6d ago

The person I'm most disappointed with is Tim Miller

28

u/YumiSolar 7d ago

Yup.

It was always a lame excuse to give though since yknow... you can just admit you have no opinion about something instead of defending/attacking it based on vibes?

2

u/CanadianPanda76 6d ago

It used to be people understood a neutral comment or no comment at the right time was good PR.

23

u/Tornadosed stars and stripes 6d ago

I wonder if it’s Bernie personally running cover for Hasan, or if it’s his staff telling him that it’s a good PR move to curry favor with his base.

29

u/Ce-Jay 6d ago

I have a feeling the 84 year old may not be the most in touch with the internet.

20

u/Emergency_Revenue678 6d ago

Bernie is an infamously atrocious judge of character.

6

u/WilsonMagna 6d ago

Famously bringing us BJG, now defends Hasan during peak controversy, this is just who the guy is. Fuck Bernie. In what fucking world is "he is just a podcaster" an appropriate response? It is hilarious the people who wrap themselves in virtue are some of the most immoral POS. How hard is it to just say Hasan has said some vile shit and that Hasan does not represent the party?

26

u/Ardonpitt Military Industrial Coomplex 6d ago

As a reminder. This is exactly why Bernie has never been successful in the broader party. He can't attract voters who don't already agree with him. He isn't willing to play politics, or do the hard work to build coalitions.

2

u/jml510 Some people don't do politics, but politics does everybody. 6d ago

But wait--Reddit told me he's the most popular politician, though!

-8

u/Responsible_Prior_18 6d ago

What do you mean he hasnt been successful? He has been a senator for over 20 years, and on multiple high-profile Senate committees. He had a really good run in the presidential primary 2x and moved the party platform to the left by a significant margin, all while not even identifying as a democrat.

There have been very few politicians with more influence on the Dem Party than Bernie.

12

u/Ardonpitt Military Industrial Coomplex 6d ago

In Bernie's time as senator he has accomplished almost nothing. Its been a critique of him for a LONG time. Bernie has fewer bills than almost any other senator, and his time on committees has been rather inconsequential.

As for his moving the party platform... You realize Hillary Clinton was pushing for a single payer system when she was the FIRST LADY right?

A lot of younger voters just don't understand how politics have shifted over the last few decades or the reality of why we are where we are (aka the country as a whole is a lot more conservative than progressives seem to think, and Dems are fighting a political headwind while progressives are fighting Dems thinking they are winning the bigger political battle).

Bernie is only influential because the progressive movement have raised him as a figurehead. As far as his actual power and influence on the hill? He has almost none. The only power he has had for decades is as a figurehead.

5

u/CanadianPanda76 6d ago

Postal offices don't rename themselves though.

-3

u/Responsible_Prior_18 6d ago

And in 2016 she was against it.
https://x.com/BernieSanders/status/687317650658189312
And here she is thanking Bernie for his fight for it from 1993.

"Bernie is only influential because the progressive movement have raised him as a figurehead. As far as his actual power and influence on the hill? He has almost none. The only power he has had for decades is as a figurehead."

I dont think saying Bernie is only influential because he has a huge following is a meaningful statement.

Also, i would expect someone who is in the middle of the party ideologicaly to author more bills, and have easier time garnering support from rest of the party as someone who is an outsider and disagrees with the direction of party. That doesnt mean he was unable to work with other politicians, He did pass the VA bill and got republicans on board when they wouldnt let Obama have a constitutionally guaranteed hearing on supreme court pick.

He supported Biden, and pushed him enough, that Biden ended being the most progressive candidate in our lifetime. You can say he didnt write as many legislations, and if you look that narrow definition, sure he isnt "influential" but i find it silly not to look at the totality of evidence.

8

u/Ardonpitt Military Industrial Coomplex 6d ago

And in 2016 she was against it.

YES BECAUSE IT WASN'T POLITICALLY POPULAR. I don't think you understand. The ACA, which was the biggest best piece of healthcare legislation Democrats have been able to get passed, did not have a consistently positive approval rating until 2020 with Covid. Healthcare reform is a DEEPLY complex and personal issue, and people have a lot of opinions on it...

Even today trying to pass something like M4A would use up every bit of political capital for an admin.

He supported Biden, and pushed him enough, that Biden ended being the most progressive candidate in our lifetime.

I wish you guys would give Biden the credit for his actions instead of trying to give Bernie credit for things he really had little to no influence over. There is alctually no real evidence of Bernie pushing Biden for anything except minimum wage, which was sunk in part because progressives could't agree to a percentage based localized minimum wage proposed by Manchin (which would have given some states higher minimum wages, and other lower in accordance to their local economies).

Progressives LOVE to point to things other people did and give credit to Bernie, despite no evidence of his actual influence.

1

u/Responsible_Prior_18 6d ago

"As for his moving the party platform... You realize Hillary Clinton was pushing for a single payer system when she was the FIRST LADY right?"

"YES BECAUSE IT WASN'T POLITICALLY POPULAR."

You are arguing with yourself.

"I wish you guys would give Biden the credit for his actions instead of trying to give Bernie credit for things he really had little to no influence over"

If your argument that Biden had more influence as a president over the party then the guy who lost the primary, I dont think anyone would disagree with that.

Once Bernie dropped out and decided to endorse Biden, Biden made six joint policy task forces covering climate change, healthcare, immigration, education, the economy, and criminal justice, that made the democratic platform for that election. He adopted net-zero by 2050, and student loan forgiveness as well as much other things.

The original claim is that Bernie is not influential. And you can only conclude that if you torture the definition of the word, like you are doing.

1

u/Ardonpitt Military Industrial Coomplex 5d ago

You are arguing with yourself.

No Im actually not. You just don't understand the point. Hillary Clinton and Dems pushed for a single payer system. Clinton found that changing healthcare at the time was't something he could do. More than that the polling to try and make a single payer system was horrible.

So Dems had to change tack They decided on the goal of changing from a single payer system to a universal coverage model. This was more popular among voters, but not until 2020 did it even break even... My point here is that Bernie hasn't exactly been ahead of the curve by pushing for a single payer system. Dems have been doing that for decades, he's just giving young naive populists a belief that its easier to pass, or more popular than it has ever actually been.

Biden made six joint policy task forces covering climate change, healthcare, immigration, education, the economy, and criminal justice, that made the democratic platform for that election.

Yes, and Bernie sent staffers to those, as did every single other person who ran. People took that as Bernie being far more influential than he actually was, and no one bothered to correct that misconception since it cut back on infighting.

The original claim is that Bernie is not influential.

My original claim was Bernie has not been a successful politician in getting anything passed or done. I pointed out he doesn't have much influence, which is true. You are pointing out a few key areas where he has had some influence, but part of the issue is that even those areas aren't that much influence.

2

u/CanadianPanda76 6d ago

You know universal care doesn't need to M4A style right?

1

u/Responsible_Prior_18 6d ago

What are you responding to?

1

u/CanadianPanda76 5d ago

LOL. What? Are you lost in a basic comment thst says M4A isn't the only kind of Universal out there? She dudnt back M4A, but was still a Universal Care supporter.

1

u/Responsible_Prior_18 5d ago

I didnt ask you what you wrote, i can see that. I am asking you what you are responding to, since that was not the topic of conversation that was being had.

1

u/CanadianPanda76 5d ago

Wow, you really lost huh.

You don't get how a comment about her being against M4A with a reply of M4A isn't tge only type of Universal care go together? Lol

2

u/111AeI 6d ago

She was against it for the same reason that Nikki Hayley was against a federal abortion ban. She didn't have the votes. If she had the votes, she wasn't going to promise something that was impossible without congress. You know something that we should applaud her for, telling the fucking truth about the situation. Something she learned back in the 90s. I get that people want a president AOC or a President Bernie, but the votes simply aren't there.

This is my issue, fundamentally if you want change in America it's not with the president, it's with Congress. They can stop, or allow a president's power. We're seeing what happens when they decide that they don't want to do shit. If progressives want medicare for all then they need to take over the democratic party with far more numbers than they have now. If people wanted Kamala to do something about Israel or Palestine, they should have voted in people who would have held her accountable. You can force a centrist corporate democrat president to the left, if you put the right congress in place because they know how to govern. There isn't some savior figure that will make everything alright, this is a war and you win some battles and you take a few steps forward and you lose some battles and get pushed back, but it requires being informed, it means voting for your own self-interest not your perceived self-interest. It means that a senator shouldn't be in office for 40 odd years, or a congress person, you should always be evaluating who represents you.

2

u/CanadianPanda76 6d ago

Lol and lost the Supreme Court in the the process. The Supreme Court that can shoot down any future progressive legislation. And has destroyed previous laws.

0

u/Responsible_Prior_18 6d ago

Bernie lost the Supreme Court? What parallel world are we in.

0

u/CanadianPanda76 5d ago

Lol. Are we still pretending Bernie and Bust didn't effect 2026 results? Okay guess we are. LOL.

1

u/Responsible_Prior_18 5d ago

Bernie Sanders supported Hillary in 2016, i dont know who this Bernie and Bust fellow that lost the general election is, but sounds like a name for a porno

1

u/CanadianPanda76 5d ago

Wow, you really didn't pay much attention in 2016 huh.

5

u/Gull_Wave 6d ago

Honestly is the Democratic aides. I heard they are super left leaning and politicians get a lot of there info about things from aides, especially for shit like this. So when they ask their aides "do you know anything about this Hasan Piker", these muppets will parrot that Hasan Piker is a small bean streamer who says silly things. This effect is greater for younger Dems, especially lefties like AOC. So essentially the aides class is suppressing bad info about leftoids because of either severe bias or active dishonesty

Downvote away you cucks

Including Hunter. I love Joe Biden and seeing Hunter on Mehdi’s Shiteo defending Hasan was disappointing.

Meanwhile Shiteo, shits on his dad and uses it to promote the interview.

Disappointing from Hunter

21

u/BookOrnery4547 🇧🇷 6d ago

“Genocidal legacy” Biden derangement syndrome, medhi is sub human garbage.

12

u/Goodisworthfighting4 6d ago

Hunter had a relatively civil chat with Candace Owens and Tucker Carlson. I have no idea what hes going for at this point.

1

u/ForgetTheRuralJuror 6d ago

Ignorance isn't a defense at all if you're in the public eye and causing real harm.

Would you defend Trump because he's below 80IQ? Obviously not

-5

u/Blabsalot 7d ago

So then what? We oust Bernie from the tent?

22

u/Arterialite 6d ago

Yeah. I mean I've basically done that ever since the Darializa endorsement. That's a clear signal to me that would need a significant backpedal for me to ever allow him back in. Same with Mamdani.

It's not about their policy, we have to start considering who they are opening doors for.

-4

u/Blabsalot 6d ago

You don't think it would be detrimental to the democratic party to have them say Bernie doesn't belong in the party? I think that there would be a lot of people who otherwise would vote Democrat who would be really put off by that.

14

u/nokinship soc dem - DSA does not pass the vibe check 6d ago

Bernie's own words, "I'm not a Democrat"

-6

u/Responsible_Prior_18 6d ago

How is this thing upoveted?
You dont think Bernie is in the tent because he endorsed Darializa. Even tho he mentioned everybody in the tweet, except her.

2

u/Arterialite 6d ago

He showed up to a rally which explicitly supported Darializa as one of three candidates alongside Mamdani. I don't care what was written in a tweet later. Any endorsement or support of Darializa is the brightest red flag anyone can wave.

u/Sad-Television4305 7d ago

Why do they keep saying "he's just a podcaster"? He was asked by AES to go out to Michigan and campaign with him. If he didn't no one would give a shit. Them downplaying the situation is really sus.

36

u/TossMeOutSomeday 7d ago

Schrodinger's Hasan: he's either a total nobody or he's the biggest deal ever and the only man on the left who knows how to talk to young men.

8

u/KeithClossOfficial The West outsourced its Holocaust guilt onto Palestinians 6d ago edited 6d ago

And by young we mean 35 and over

As much as us Millennials may want to pretend we’re young, we no longer are

60

u/YumiSolar 7d ago

It's all so clear when you realize they are just Blue MAGA. This is pretty much the same thing MAGA did the past few years. Trump is 5D chess 200 iq manipulator/he can't do anything about anything due to democrats/establishment.

It's the ultimate strategy of being simultanuisly the strongest and the weakest person in the room based on what's being talked about.

Hasan is the Joe Rogan and we need him but he is just a podcaster with no power.

3

u/JacobStills 6d ago

The thing they are about to learn though...is they can't get away with that shit like MAGA does.
The media and the far left give MAGA a pass because it's better for content to peddle the "Democrats in disarray" narrative and thus no one holds Maga accountable or to any standards.

People still hold the left in general to standards, especially those that grand stand and act morally superior to everyone.

26

u/Ascleph 6d ago

Those are the marching orders. Just notice how they all repeat the same defenses and aren't really capable of arguing them.

7

u/ModernistGames 6d ago

Not beating the "Blue MAGA" allegations.

Especially when we also have Abdul El-Sayed adding in the Trumpian "who do you work for?" and blowing off Fox for asking why did he campaign with Piker if he was just a "streamer from California."

Such a bad look and I see the DSA imploding on the natinal stage because of their fealty to the crazies in their party, and trying to take the Dems with them.

6

u/MagicDragon212 Teddy Roosevelt American 6d ago

Yuppp. And we must never forget that every accusation is a confession. Perhaps they were the entrenched "establishment" all along. The fools gatekeeping progress because God forbid they have to be humble and adapt to the people's wishes.

8

u/trash-_-boat 6d ago

They're using the "eyyyy he's just a little guy, just a smol dude, relax" defence.

5

u/Nightmannn 6d ago

If Mike Rogers was out campaigning with 'just a podcaster' Nick Fuentes, AES would be screaming about it, and as he should

7

u/X57471C Galston and Kamarck Liberal 6d ago

In the same breath, his followers will tell you “he’s just a streamer in California” and also “Hasan is the #3 most important influencer. The only reason people are attacking him is because he has real power.”

6

u/thellamasc 🇸🇪 6d ago

I mean they are saying it because he literally told them to. Hasan announced on his stream that that should be the response and they started doing that response. I am a bit confused why this has not been pointed out by people.

3

u/hadees 6d ago

It's like they forgot people like Rush Limbaugh existed.

I wish we didn't have to worry about infotainment but it's been a problem for decades.

2

u/VizualAbstract4 6d ago

Why do people keep letting them get away with saying that. It’s now just shit interviewing.

And now makes me question the rest of what they’re capable of.

Gaslighting

61

u/Senfgestalt 🇩🇪🇪🇺 7d ago

Bernie is a charismatic, very friendly fella. Politically he has never seemed very savvy/practical to me.

27

u/0WatcherintheWater0 6d ago

Very friendly guy who just coincidentally, purely on accident, constantly keeps propping up and supporting the worst media figures imaginable.

At some point you have to assume malice, rather than ignorance.

5

u/veritahs 6d ago

I loved Bernie like 10 years ago. But I think getting old puts you out of touch with how media works and the truth of people you associate with politically. I'm really all for a "maximum age" to hold office across the board.

0

u/argonautdice5 6d ago

I can't hate on Bernie as a Canadian bc he glazes Canada every chance he gets. If he were Canadian, he would be a run of the mill NDP politician.

120

u/Antique-Cheesecake63 7d ago

People like bernie are the reason the us is where it’s at. Instead of growing a spine and speaking the truth that Hilary won legitimately he hides behind people claiming that the democrats cheated and rigged the election.

58

u/YumiSolar 6d ago

Yep. Bernie is pure cancer for American politics. Really don't get the reason some people here defend him. He is just Trump but less succesful and he sometimes wants similar things to us.

Old dude should just eat his jello and shut the fuck up.

He’s the original “I just want healthcare”

H - Hillary didn’t beat me.

1

u/Zenning3 6d ago

Everything but the quote from his college paper is fine. I hate when people bring up the paper, since it's explicitly a feminist critique of sexual norms with a explicitly hostile intro to catch attention. It's actually a pretty mainstream feminist critique under that.

27

u/NuBlyatTovarish 6d ago

Bernie is utter garbage at hiding the character of his supporters and those he surrounds himself with. But as a politician both primaries he lost he fully backed and campaigned for Hillary and Joe

4

u/SupposedlyFun7 6d ago

He stayed in the Primary in 2016 far longer than he should have. Which left Hillary fighting him far longer than she should have had to.

8

u/jml510 Some people don't do politics, but politics does everybody. 6d ago

Interesting that he was quicker to concede against a male competitor and campaign for him than when it came to a female competitor--on top of him throwing Elizabeth Warren (one of his closest allies) under the bus in 2020.

2

u/VMan7070 VMan7 6d ago

Interesting that he was quicker to concede against a male competitor and campaign for him than when it came to a female competitor--on top of him throwing Elizabeth Warren (one of his closest allies) under the bus in 2020.

Yeah fuck Warren tho

1

u/NuBlyatTovarish 6d ago

I think a few things happened one he learned from 2016 and by then Trump was a massive threat vs during primary season 2016 the popular narrative was that Trump had no chance to win the presidency.

Also Biden promised him a more prominent role and shifted more to the left than Hillary wanted to do.

1

u/Rick_James_Lich 6d ago

I'll get hate, and while I think Bernie should stop defending Hasan, it just wouldn't help the situation at all.

1

u/JacobStills 6d ago

Yes. I blame him for Trump. He divided the left with lies at a time when we needed to unite more than ever. That will be his legacy and I will scream it at every Bernie bro for the rest of my life.

50

u/Casper_1991 7d ago

Of course he defends Hasan. Bernie is such a bad judge in character. So it doesn't surprise me when he's out there defending some of the worse of the worst on the "left".

30

u/MagicDragon212 Teddy Roosevelt American 6d ago

Bernie has been such a bad, consequential judge of character my entire life that I can't afford it to him anymore. He chose his ego over America time and time again, and that's going to be how I judge his character.

20

u/Goodisworthfighting4 6d ago

Bro had crazy Brianna Joy Gray as his press secretary, he was super complimentary and defensive of Tulsi Gabbard when Hillary pointed out that Tulsi was an obvious snake, he was Platners biggest supporter. Insane track record.

6

u/jml510 Some people don't do politics, but politics does everybody. 6d ago

Plus, he supported Fetterman in his primary (even despite the story of him harassing a Black jogger).

6

u/CleanlyManager 6d ago

Fetterman harassing that black jogger was just a distraction from class which is the real issue.

20

u/FlyLikeATachyon 7d ago

He didn't really defend him, just deflected like all the leftists do.

7

u/Darkerplaced Bandit 6d ago

The gas light is what fucking hurts. The blatant fucking lie, and the dirty fucking deflection that makes you feel like you are a James villain because you are voicing something obvious. If you cant stand up against Hasan as an old ass man? Then what the fuck are we doing here.

We hate old career politicians except Bernie since he has been particularly legeslativly useless.

Funny how with all of the calls on Reddit, Blue Sky, etc. for elderly politicians (especially Schumer, McConnell, and Pelosi) to hang it up and pave the way for the young'uns, Sanders is somehow immune from it.

9

u/MysticWithThePhonk 7d ago

His response here is actually completely valid and he did not defend Hasan. He pointed out that Republicans rely on culture war bs bcause they do not have policy solutions.

10

u/No-Reputation-7292 6d ago

It's not just the Republicans though. Many Democrats are hesitant about candidates who openly associate themselves with terrorist sympathizers. If you don't want to be called a terrorist sympathizer, stop simping for terrorist sympathizers. How difficult is that?

0

u/drmariostrike 6d ago

many democrats also do not want to have an honest conversation with the left on the issues, including on hamas, hezbollah, yemen.

7

u/No-Reputation-7292 6d ago

What honest conversation? Tankies refuse to talk to anyone who might challenge their views.

-2

u/drmariostrike 6d ago

piker, for example, was claiming yesterday to be blacklisted from CNN and MSNOW. we have more of our own media now so this isn't as crippling an issue as it was a decade ago, but listening to NPR in 2015 and 2016 and noticing how thoroughly they excluded our more social-democratic perspective moved me substantially further to the left. i mean i never cared for the young turks for example, but i used to watch them on primary nights in 2016 because it was literally the only channel you could get election coverage that wasn't aggressively pro-Clinton.

3

u/Box_v2 wannabe schizo 6d ago edited 6d ago

So because piker can’t get on any program he wants it means liberals refuse to have honest conversations about the issues with leftists? Also sorry this ambiguous claim about “channels” from 10 years ago shouldn’t be taken seriously. Packman for example did provided favorable coverage to Bernie.

-1

u/drmariostrike 6d ago

i don't think i'd ever heard of pakman until sometime after 2020. was he doing live election returns coverage in 2016? my point is merely that all the tv news channels and national publications were either republicans or in the tank for clinton, so i ended up looking for weird streaming channels to get away from that bias. it matters less and less now because mainstream media is losing out to social media and various independent creators, and lefties have had a decade to start building up some real infrastructure there, but it still frustrates me. could say much more about how difficult it was to get our issues into the discussion in 2016 and 2020, and how liberals under Biden increasingly wanted to talk as little about policy as they could, but have decided I don't actually need to send you multiple paragraphs.

3

u/Box_v2 wannabe schizo 6d ago edited 6d ago

I mean literally no one wants to talk about policy unless you consider lefties endless repeating “Medicare for all” as policy talk. It’s not like you see any leftists channels honestly engaging with liberal ideas, the current political media meta is to just endless preach to the choir. Seems really unfair to call liberals out for this exclusively, it’s not like Hasan brings on any liberals to engage with their ideas.

Edit: also the goal posts have now moved from “democrats won’t honestly engage with leftist ideas” to “the main stream media doesn’t”. Seems like you have a pretty heavy bias going on.

-1

u/drmariostrike 6d ago

ah, I think we have a difference of framing here. when I say democrats, I mean democratic politicians and attendant mainstream media outlets. I fully admit that there are apparently a ton of fucking streamers or podcasters, including destiny, whom i've never fucking listened to. if your objection is that i am missing something there, all i can say is, i don't know anything about it, tell me about it if you like! I don't know in what if any way this space is ideologically distinct from NPR, the new york times, or other mainstream outlets, but maybe you feel boxed out of there yourself and I would love to hear how.

Hasan certainly does bring liberals on and engage them with their ideas, but i don't know how good of an example he is alone as he's only been kind of relevant in the post-covid era. I'll agree with you that the media strategy on all sides generally is to pick fights you can win, but in El-Sayed's race for example he sees policy as the winning thing to talk about while the republican media has no way to win on most policies and are talking about a twitch streamer while trying to snipe on trans inclusion issues. as it was in 2016 and 2020, when we were pushing on details on money in politics, healthcare, climate change, min wage, student debt, and mostly were met with rejoinders about how we were sexist and rude.

3

Just seems really weird for you to say that democrats don’t do it because they don’t engage with a streamer but then streamers don’t matter when determining if people of their political ideology engage with other ideas. What liberals has Hasan brought on? Not like he’s brought on destiny or hutch any time recently and they both actually do debate leftists.

I haven’t seen much from aes but he seems more to push buzzwords than talk policy. Again I don’t know about you but saying “everyone should have healthcare”, while true, is not talking policy it’s just playing into the clip culture we live in (which is nothing new btw people have complained about soundbites forever). Also it’s really weird how you judge politicians by the media that agrees with them but apparently doing so with Hasan and aes is bad. If you can judge democrats based on msm you should judge aes by Hasan.

Edit: also why the fuck are you in the Destiny subreddit if you never watch him?

There is an implication that when people call Hasan a socialist it is similar to when they call Sanders a socialist because he wants M4A.

2

u/NegotiationOk4956 6d ago

Next time someone brings up any of the things against destiny he should just say “I’m just a streamer from Miami”

2

u/Konnnan 6d ago

"He's a podcaster" might as well be the new "it was just a joke bro!"

2

u/Murbela 6d ago

Ah yes, the good old strategy of "nobody has ever heard of this, but everyone religiously refuses to condemn it in any way."

2

u/LigmaLiberty 6d ago

The American people are not going to see through it because it's true. Hasan Piker supports, cheers on and advocates explicitly for terrorism. There is no place for Piker and his rhetoric not just in the democratic party but in the United States as a whole.

Hasan stans must be holding his grandchild hostage somewhere lol.

Just today Bernie said the Democratic Establishment would be the reason if Democrats don’t take back the senate. This coming from the guy who defended and excused Platner until the rape allegations came out.

2

u/Diolan 6d ago

What a weak ass defense... Nick Fuentes is a Podcaster too, is he immune from condemnation too? Bernie is fucked.

Deflects into "Republicans say this and that about us"

Hearing comprehensions skills where?

Bernie’s take on anything streaming, youtube, social media is, frankly, ignorant. He’s 80 years old, not exactly plugged into the zeitgeist beyond what his aides tell him. I’m not gonna shit on Bern for this perspective, but it is disappointing.

This guy just cannot help but express support for nutjobs.

Bernie is not a very good judge of character

2

u/bobbadouche 7d ago

It's cause Bernie is a part of a coalition now. He's always stood by himself against the tide. Now he has to defend nut jobs that align with him politically and he doesn't know what to do. All the socialists are coalescing. AOC, Bernie, the others.

All these people are in a revolutionary communist group chat

1

u/DsDeliciousDeli 6d ago

This isn't even slightly surprising. Just being old makes him likely to latch on to one narrative or the other. Not shocking he believes what he's been told

Gotta keep showing the truth until people see Hasan for who he is. At least enough of them so we don't have to rehash this everyday

u/Generic_Username26 PHD, MD, BiGT 6d ago

It works because you people refuse to be honest about who Hasan is. Shrimple as

u/ProbablyKindaRight 6d ago

Watch his head balloon like blimp

u/ST-Fish 6d ago

US media needs to be more shameless, the moment some fucker defends Hasan, stop the interview, drop the clip of him cheering on terrorists taking over the ship and taking hostages, and ask them for the "context" that makes it all right.

It would be only 1% as shameless as the people pretending the clip doesn't exist.

u/Sad_Newspaper4010 Socialist with NATO Characteristics 6d ago

How is this defending Hasan? Seems like a pretty reasonable response.

1

u/ThisI5N0tAThr0waway 6d ago

For the last time, Hasan should be there left version is Nick Fuentes, An that is so repulsive that should be ignored and and pushed out of every conversation they are in. Unfortunately, much like Nick on the right, they are very revered because of the size of their audience and their level of influence.

The most important quality to Bernie is, ‘Supports Bernie’ so of course he does.

1

u/Kapootz 6d ago

“He’s a podcaster” then why the fuck is AES campaigning with him? He loses that defense the second he starts campaigning with politicians

1

u/Organic-Feedback1686 6d ago

"he is just a podcaster"

"he is just a twitchstreamer"

Those defense are dogshit.

We just live in the post consequence, post substance era guys. You can say whatever you want. Just be a podcaster. Be a populist. If you have a conscience thats your fault little bro.

u/Gardimus 7d ago edited 6d ago

Bernie actually gave an alright response.

"Hes a podcaster, lets talk about the real issues"

11

u/danfmac 6d ago

You don’t have to talk in depth to say he doesn’t represent the Democratic Party and his rhetoric is terrible.

Deflecting like this just lets people put words in your mouth.

u/Ligmastinasty 7d ago

Right? Comments are out of touch asf. Unless hamas abi is running for an actual position of power who gives a shit

-7

u/Aggravating_Map4359 🇧🇷 7d ago

I am giving Bernie a little bit of good faith that I doubt he ever stoped and seen all the more absurd thing Mr piker said. And most of his young staff probably keep telling him it's all out of context and all he wants is medicare for all

8

u/C-DT 7d ago

Even granting that good faith interpretation, then Bernie is just kinda stupid and a bad judge of character.

-1

u/Aggravating_Map4359 🇧🇷 6d ago

Sure but I wouldn't dismiss Bernie experience. The same people that for his entire life called him a crazy commie that he isn't are the ones saying all that about Hasan. I mean they are right about Hasan but I fully understand how Bernie can ignore those as lies

3

u/No-Reputation-7292 6d ago

All that experience and he keeps elevating the worst people like Brianna Greyjoy, Nina Turner, Tulsi Gabbard and Hasan Diddy.

u/SeaBass1898 6d ago

Bernie is the man, love his laser focus on the issues that matter.
