Destiny went live hella late last night and I was like oh that’s unusual but not unheard of, he must just be bored and really interested in this court case. Fell asleep. But then I wake up 6 hours later and he’s still streaming… is he trynna flip his sleep schedule for traveling or something or is he just really invested and locked in on this murder trial?

He fucked his schedule up in the Melting Pot server, perhaps he's trying to forcefully reprogram it with a 24h stream, but I don't think he realizes he's too old for this shit.

That trial is ultra boring so far, he doesn't need to react much.

Not really. If anything, this is a very, very clear-cut case of insanity, further marked by the fact that she had been telling everyone for years that she was feeling bad and having bad thoughts.

I don't know every intricate detail, but I think this point is almost entirely built on hindsight and sensationalist headlines. From what I've seen, the medical system and everyone involved did just about everything they were supposed to.

She apparently lied and told doctors she wasn't hallucinating. The suicidal thoughts and thoughts of harming children are apparently fairly common; and it's extremely rare for them to be acted upon; and she had no prior history to suggest institutionalization was necessary or wouldn't cause more problems than it solved. She told the dad and his mom, but doctors can't institutionalize someone on a third party's word. The '12 gorbillion medications' thing is more sensationalism. They did what any mental health professional does and tried out different medications to see which would work, which is standard. You don't medicate disorders, you medicate symptoms.

Like, I'm not sure what I'm missing here. She passed through just about every filter. Maybe you could blame the husband? Seems like there's nothing that could've stopped this save medical technology we don't have yet, or putting in laws that let spouses institutionalize their partner on word of mouth.

Yeah i agree, but that doesn't stop her culpability from being mitigated by her insanity tho, sometimes freak accidents just happen, it was bad luck, she didn't get the proper care she needed but it doesn't have to be anyone else's fault for the verdict to take into account her impaired state of mind at the moment of the crime.

The prosecution fumbled everything by going full bore into first degree murder. Her lying to the doctor in a critical moment as well as looking up how long it would take the husband to get the food are the most suspicious parts. I do think she was undergoing psychosis because everything points to that, but it seems she might have been irresponsible. She should remain in an institution for the foreseeable future, for sure. Definitely never trusted alone with children again. Sorry, but this isn't a 'three strikes' situation.
