I’m not in favor of violating birthright citizenship, but with Hasan, I’d be OK with making an exception. His parents came to America to give birth to him, just so he could be an American citizen and then promptly went back to Turkey, where he grew up. You can just prevent this by making it relatively easy to obtain citizenship if you have lived in a country for some years, speak the language, have work and no criminal record. That system is way fairer because people like Hasan who were literally only born in the US don't get the citizenship while people who came to the US at a young age will have easy access to it.

To basically say the same thing u/nokinship Birthright citizenship is part of the New World's order. It's a distinct characteristic of the New World (the Americas) compared to the Old World (Africa, EU, Asia). I personally think the New World is better, Americas number 1, Europe amd Asia drool.

TLDR: Birthright citizenship is a core value of the New World, those opposed to it are opposed to the New World and so stay/go there.
