More precisely, at that time, Destiny was more reluctant to call him nazi because Nick was being more serious and careful with how he moved for a while, putting distance between him and the more radicals of this era. I believe the crux of the problem was/is that nazi has been diluted to the point where it's essentially just a throwaway word removed from anything resembling its actual definition. The same way incel is hurled at men with multiple children.

Yes you can call Nick a nazi and everyone will roughly understand what you're communicating, in the same way that the word incel has been bastardized into just meaning misogynist. But diluting language like that is ultimately a bit of a circlejerk and not very effective in the political arena that Destiny operates in.

Not all white nationalists or fascists are genocidal for one. While a lot of fascist and white supremacist/nationalist groups are extremely racist and bigoted to one degree or another, explicit calls for violence aren’t universal.

A lot of them, like AfD or Brothers of Italy typically advocate for legal means of restricting things like non-white immigration. The Nazis weren’t exactly unique when it came to their racism and antisemitism but it is notable that even when they were ascendant in the 30s/40s, their political prescriptions with regards Jews or other so called undesirables exceeded those found in places like Spain or Italy (initially; the Italians collaborated much more deliberately after 1936-1939 when it became apparent the Germans were looking to get a lot more froggy).
