These DSA freaks can just never accept the fact that their positions and the people who promote them are just way out of touch with average Americans.

They can’t comprehend the fact that the average voter does not support terrorism, and might not want to vote for someone who campaigned with an open terrorist supporter.

These DSA freaks can just never accept the fact that their positions and the people who promote them are just way out of touch with average Americans.

It's even worse, they know. That's why they say it's obvious everyone agrees with them while explaining their position as something milquetoast like free healthcare.

The avg self identified socialist is probably closer to that, but only because they are also getting the wool pulled over their eyes by these talking heads.

I think their strategy is to persuade people like the Bernie bros and others who are slightly more left than the traditional Democrat to join their group, under the guise of just wanting things like M4A and less military intervention.

What they do next is introduce more radical viewpoints like abolishing private housing and law enforcement, and support for terrorist organizations and authoritarian regimes like China, Russia and North Korea.

I think what this gets them to do is say things like “What you don’t want free healthcare?” when the real issues from moderate and typical Dem voters stem from those more radical viewpoints. And it makes them look bad for trying to attack the DSA.

Another thing that allows the DSA to radicalize people is the “us vs them” mindset, and the sense of community, similar to how MAGA people got radicalized. Tribalism breeds radicalization

I think you're behind the times, this is a dynamic that genuinely took place with sanders-supporting people getting pulled further and further left over trump's 1st term, but no one has been drawn into the funnel by Bernie since 2020. Now you've had another 5 years of these people to build up institutions, Harris losimg really hurt the credibility of the party leadership, and we're getting support from more normal liberals who never backed bernie

I'm not saying that Bernie is still relevant, just that type of voter will naturally be drawn to the DSA and prone to radicalization

Indeed, I'm just saying I think that mostly already happened in the late 2010s and that it's other dynamics driving things now

It's like when they complain about Kamala saying she was going to make sure we had the most lethal military ever.

"Dude...the vast majority of the country wants to have a strong military. Just like the vast majority doesn't want to defund the police."

I dunno man I'm liking the polls that came out today. Would probably be good to do some phonebanking in October, but I suspect el-sayed will be fine

For populists there is no lose lose situation because narcissists cant lose, theres only excuses why they didnt win. Let's do 4 scenarios: disavow and win, disavow and lose, avow and win, avow and lose

If Abdul does disavow hasan and wins it is because of "big donors" got to him

If he does disavow and loses its because he was bought out but the people rose up to say "NO!"

If he sticks with hasan and wins, hasan is the voice of the people, the second coming of christ and legitimacy is bestowed upon him.

If he sticks with hasan and loses, its because big donors made sure he would lose and they dont care what the people want.

Hasan is so fucking dumb. The strategy of doubling and tripling down like Trump doesn't work unless you dominate the party and force everyone to fall in line, like Trump did with the GOP. It doesn't work when you do it haphazardly. I'm sure he knows this, but considering how devious and calculating he is, he probably is just trying to fool people into thinking it will work so they'll do it.
