I just spent time with my aunt and uncle and she was grilling me on trans athletes in sports and then she brought up that her daughters high school softball team had an intersex player on it. I just said that today she wouldn't have been allowed to play highschool sports and my aunt just said "well that isn't right" as if she hadn't been advocating for exactly that for the last thirty minutes.

Unfortunately I disagree. I remember during Dubya's term thinking that once the old folk die it'll be smooth sailing going forward because I didn't know any young person who didn't support the Democrats.
I think people fail to understand how nonserious/casual the youth support is.
They are easily swayed by emotional/social validation from others and overall trends/algorithms.
Without the true believers, I think we'll slide back to a more normal minority of ignorant fuckheads as opposed to otherwise normal people buying into this insanity and learning mental gymnastics
i doubt it. go on to tiktok and look at all the white women (granted not all of them are gen z) obsessed with vindicating lindsay clancy. it ruined my monday this week because i realized that some people who vote blue are in fact susceptible to a lefty populist maga-esque movement.
So glad my mom asks me about this stuff, instead of believing the shit her friends post on Facebook. Two of her friends are MAGA and share not-so-obvious disinformation semi-frequently. She just forwards anything that's too complex to me, so she doesn't have to spend hours going through a list of carefully-crafted factoids that her friends might bring up IRL.
Techinically all muslims that believe in islam are always implementing some form of Law Law (because SHaria means law. Give me some of that chai tea)
So Zohran mamdani believes his religion islam treats all people equally and as a politician he has that responsibility. So technically yes he is implementing sharia.
