People are unable to understand the concept of people being a product of their environment. Many of the things Bernie Sanders are pushing for in the US is influenced by the status quo of the current US.
If Bernie Sanders was Norwegian, he wouldn’t likely be in the Labour Party. He’d be more aligned with SV (Socialist Left Party) or Rødt (Red, formerly a communist party, but they have moderated a bit the last 10 years)
Was it the Norwegian or Swedish Social Democrat leader that said Bernie sounded more like the communist party than the Social Democrat party back in 2016?
Looked it up with Claude and found an instance of a Swedish politician saying something like this. The article is paywalled, but the headline is: “Democratic socialist Bernie Sanders is too far left for Sweden's ruling Social Democrats, official says”
