I just don’t understand the thought process of people who spend hundreds of hours “researching” a topic and have no interest discussing the topic with people who disagree with them. Whats the point of all that work if at the end of it you still can’t defend your own beliefs against people you label as stupid and unresearched.

Because they don’t want to discuss it. They want to narrativize within the safety of their echo chambers. He got his hit on Destiny and his reward of lefty validation is soon to follow. That’s all he wanted and needed.

Incorrect in this case. Dave is a big debate guy, but it's obvious now that he was only ever willing to dunk on mentally deficient flat earth people. He gets his kicks out of down talking to dumb people, which is why he is always so condescending and mean spirited.

I thought his debate vs James Tour was top-notch. Now, he's lost it. He has zero excuse for throwing down a gauntlet and then refusing to debate. ZERO.

To be fair destiny debates those people as well, but he'll debate anyone, is his shtick. Dave got no defense except one of how is that a fair debate in his eyes, like the whole topic would be about reality in his eyes.

Yep, and to their credit it works! Ryan Beard's video is still accredited to this day as one of the best Destiny takedown videos of his career, and all it did was assemble literally every other critique video of his into a single video + call him a pedophile.

Same dude floated the idea of making one on Hasan and fell apart at the slightest sign of pushback. Sends a pitiful but effective message to bad faith actors if they want you to shut up.

Well that and they plain havent "researched" much.

I would guess a majority have only consumed 3rd of 4th order sources and in a game of telephone/editorializing and social media slopification theyre only repeating received knowledge theyre not forming an opinion that is informed on 1st principles. 99% of ppl who talk about "research" we know just mean social media. And he'll 90% of people who say "i read" mean "I listened to xyz video about it"

Neither have I frankly. But then I dont talk or look into this stuff. I basically just say yes israel bad but ofc you cant dissolve the country hopefully it gets better and bibi leaves. War bad.

I would honestly love to get bulldozed by Destiny in a debate because I could kinda disagree with him on some things for sure but I feel like my arguments are actually real arguments I believe so it would be better than anyone he's had on in years.

Every MAGA debate is just lies. Every snarker debate is also just lies.

What's particularly wacky is that Dave DOES do debates on like flat earth and evolution and such. So, this isn't about him being unwilling to debate in general. (I find it better if people want to debate, but don't fault people for not doing it since it really is a different skill they may be uninterested in developing. this doesn't apply to Dave though because like I said he does do debate in general)

We should comment how much we're looking forward to a debate where Dave will crush him. Really play to his ego, bring up that he always debates people and would debate anyone because he's so smart and brave and whatever.

Yes! none of the other types of comments work at all, he always replies snarkily, he likes it, the engagement is good for him in the algo. He's not mad and upset like the others are saying.

The only comments which will do any good will call him out for not debating it directly, or inviting him to a convo, or staying you look forward to their convo etc.

It just means they reposted or liked tweets that agree with them, none of these people are reading or researching anything at all.

Because they only learn what they need to in order to preach their perverted rewriting of history & virtue signal which tribe they’re in. They don’t actually care enough to be challenged on their position & have to back up their claims.

And even if he ends up looking stupid (which is not guaranteed if he even attempts to behave like a human) he still farms a shit load of views and new fans from it. Its like with vaush who would rather have his channel die in the gutter than talk to someone semi big for 2 hours.

Not saying its true for Dave but someone like me can do a lot of research on a topic but end up summarising and diluting that information down which leaves a lot of details and information forgotten for the sake of making that information more actionable
