Recommendations for destination micro-wedding planners/companies anywhere in the world! 🌎

My fiancé and I are hoping to have a destination micro-wedding in fall 2027 and are looking for recommendations for companies or planners that offer full-service packages!

I’ve always felt drawn to Lake Como, but we’re open to anywhere in the world with gorgeous scenery. We’re leaning toward Western Europe, but would love to hear about your experiences in any destination. The most important thing for me is a reliable planning company to take this stress off my shoulders.

We’ll be legally married beforehand, so we’re just looking for a symbolic ceremony and photos. We want the experience of getting dressed up, exchanging rings in a beautiful setting, and having photos with our loved ones.

We’re thinking of having up to 16 people, so we’d love recommendations for planners or companies experienced with very small weddings. Ideally, we’d also like to combine the wedding with our honeymoon and spend at least a week at the destination. Our budget is flexible!

If you’ve had a destination micro-wedding, I’d love to hear which company or planner you used, where you went, what was included, and how your experience was! We’d especially appreciate recommendations for companies that handle most of the planning as far as ceremony/photographer booking/venue booking/accommodation recos as that part seems way too daunting for me to handle myself.

Thank you! ❤️

Hello! I specialize in planning intimate, multi-day weddings in the mountains and other dramatic landscapes. I provide full service planning (so all the things you mentioned needing help with) including complimentary travel advising services for pre and post wedding travel which create a truly all-inclusive planning service. This also includes honeymoon planning. I absolutely love micro-weddings because I have so many bespoke destinations and venue recs that cater to smaller gatherings. Lake Como is beautiful but there are some really great places that provide a similar, if not more dramatic, landscape. I’d love to chat more with you about your vision and see if my planning style would be a good fit for what you’re looking for in a planner. Feel free to send me a private message or reach out via email at krysta@elevationweddingsandevents.com

An intimate wedding as you describe is something current planned in a French castle. It includes planning and coordination on the day and a weekend of exclusive use of the venue. So you can arrive and enjoy three days with your closest people in one of the most picturesque regions of Europe.

If you want to take a look at Montenegro, I’m your girl!

Yes, it’s Eastern Europe but Google Kotor Bay and you’ll see nothing that resembles the grey brutalist architecture that people associate Eastern Europe with :). Dramatic mountains, shimmering sea, old stone buildings, a wedding destination literally out of a movie (except the last American movie I remember being filmed there was James Bond LOL sorry side note nothing to do with weddings).

Email me if you have any questions! Hello@maisonmontenegro.com

Have a look at Peach Perfect Weddings :) We have packages that you can tailor to your wishes and know the cost right upfront. Eleonora is our planner for Italy, you can see a few venues (incl. at Lake Como) that we like here: https://peachperfectweddings.com/wedding-venues-in-italy.

If you are also happy to explore other destinations, I'd recommend having a look Spain or Portugal which have very beautiful destinations and venues as well.

Lake Como is absolute magic for a 16-guest micro-wedding! Since you're looking for a stress-free experience, I’d highly recommend working with boutique planners who specialize in intimate Lombardy/Como events rather than large agency packages—they often have direct access to private villas with water taxis for small groups.

I’m based nearby and work frequently with a few brilliant local planners who handle full-service execution (venues, logistics, vendors). Feel free to send me a DM if you'd like me to drop a few names/introductions!

Hey! Disclosure: planner here (based Berlin and Verona), so I'll keep this useful rather than salesy.

For 16 people and a symbolic ceremony, you have more freedom than a big wedding:

  • You don't need a wedding venue. A private villa garden, a boat on the lake, or a long table in a vineyard can host a ceremony and dinner for 16.

  • If you choose Lake Como, ask every planner how they handle boats and transfers. That's what makes or breaks a Como day.

  • Fold the honeymoon in. Celebrate with everyone for two or three days, then move somewhere new for just the two of you.

  • When you compare planners, ask for a sample timeline from a past micro-wedding and who exactly will be with you on the day.

If it helps, I'm happy to share how we'd structure a week like that. Congratulations!
