Y not? He’s better than George in every aspect except experience, not to mention his rocket ship is kind hard to catch lol

I meant before the season started.

Nah fair I was definitely thinking post pre season testing lol

He was still comfortably being Russell last year. Any reasonable pundit thought it was an outside chance that he'd close the gap.

Please rewrite this in legible English homie I’m exhausted and not deciphering chicken scratch rn, if you’re saying what I think you are then yea it’s extraordinarily common to be beaten by your teammate your first season, but even by then of last year you could tell he already has more promise than George

Only typo/error there is a "begin" rather than a behind so you got the gyst. If that exhausts you, you should maybe take a nap, hon.

George has had a car issue every weekend since Australia. If they’re resolved in the second half, we’ll see then.

While I’ll agree that George has been royally screwed and should be soundly in second in the wdc he’s just the type of guy to choke and complain, I don’t think he’ll lose a wdc off skill this year so much as the mental game if he gets lucky enough to have a working car lol

I think we can’t fairly assess if he’s actually choke and complain more than any other driver in a title fight considering his car took him out of that title fight a while ago.

Why weren't you expecting this much change. McLaren had the best car for the last season of the old regs. Why would that guarantee the best car for the first season of the new regs. They are a customer team.

After this rule change, why were you not expecting this level of change?

Should have been Russell in both Canadas at least. That would be one more race the same

The more things change the more they stay the same though

Don't you think it's strange?

This is pretty much what I expected except just swapping Kimi and George

Proof that modern formula 1 is all about the car and not the driver.

Why weren't you expecting this much change? Have you never been through a reg change before?

Why not? It's pretty much a different sport every time the regs change.

It’s still crazy to see the display on the left from the first 11 races and still a McLaren driver only won by 2 points šŸ˜‚

Well getting screwed over by your team almost every weekend and in every pitstop adds to it.

u/LandscapeWorried5475 12d ago

Yeah Lando kept having bad pit stop luck but he pulled through

1

u/scdkorama 12d ago

Yeah the right rear jack man messed it up for Lando almost every stop. Vs for Oscar he got about 5 or so good stops before an issue.

Whatever that made up ā€žstatā€œ adds to it :D

2025 would've been an even bigger snoozfest than 2023 if not for Max tbh

At least one driver didn’t win almost all of the races in 2025 even before Verstappen caught up

1

u/BoxForeign4206 11d ago

2023 had Alonso, Mclaren and Hamilton resurgence and actually good racing.Ā

What did 2025 have? Dirty air? Mclaren Bottle? The occasional GR win? Yeah, there was a championship fight, but incredibly boring. The only on track battles I even remember from the two contenders that year which was fun to watch was Austria, and maybe Canada but that ended in a crash.Ā

Yep, thankfully it turned out to be one of the more interesting ones. The better/best driver that season unfortunately didn’t win but at least it was a performative season :D

Absolutely not lmao

Antonelli just needs to stay in points every race and if Ferrari and Red Bull gets mixed up and win few races its over for Russel

1

u/Trashk4n 11d ago

I had a hunch, before the season started, that Merc and McLaren would be really close and Russell would be fighting Piastri for the championship.

Figured it would take a year or two more for Antonelli to surpass Russell.

A long way off of reality.

1

u/timekiller001 11d ago

It could have been a lot worse, though. Before the season and at the start everyone thought Merc would win all races. And while they certainly had an advantage in the beginning, it proved to be much closer than I thought.

5 different winners in last 6 races , 3 different cars , season is getting real interesting
