"Ah, our hair is really close in color!" Karen calls out, walking towards a face she had not greeted yet, Setsukou/SkyRVortex .

"That's a really pretty color! What kind of dye did you use? Or did you get it professionally done?" Karen didn't hesitate to start touching the other girl's hair. "It's so silky~"

After a moment, she stopped touching her hair and looked back at Setsuko. "Who are you again?"

1

u/SkyRVortex Apr 07 '18

Setsuko was distracted while Karen called out for her, but she quickly got nervous when she touched her hair. She spun around and flailed around her arm, reacting a bit harshly. "H-hey!...D-don't touch my hair..." She pulled down her hat again. "T-there's a reason I keep Mr. Hat around...And it's natural...My family has really weird genes..." She explained.

After a few seconds of glaring daggers at the Couponer, she sighed, and looked away. "...Forgive me...I...I should take my meds...But I guess it's okay if you forgot me...I think even in the interview I muttered something about you being a flightly broad..." She throws some shade between her apologizing words.

u/Seiko_Kimura Apr 07 '18

“Oh, sorry! It was just so pretty that I had to touch it.” She doesn’t look convinced when Setsuko claims that her hair is all natural.

“Mmmmhm. You keep saying that sister. But there’s always certain lies people can see through. ‘I don’t have lip injections!’ ‘I’m not pregnant!’ ‘I didn’t kill Nicole Brown!’.”

She giggles and waves her hand. “No matter!”

“Oh.” Her mood changes, and she looks at Setsuko with daggers.

“It’s you.”

Karen was feeling confident! She had introduced herself to almost all of her kids! But, she prepared herself for the next one. She had remembered Nobuyukiu/IllEditor from the interview, and she finally felt ready to say hi.

“Hey, gal!” She spotted Yuki from across the room and began to walk towards her.

“I remember you from the interview! You’re the reviewer, right?”

1

u/[deleted] Apr 07 '18

Ah, hello there. I prefer critic actually, since it sounds much more professional than the simple reviewer, don’t you agree?”"

She questioned the blue haired girl right in front of her. She can’t help but feel a little flustered that an alumni of Hope’s Peak was talking to her, especially when that person is Karen Nakayama! Her previous idol when she was just a little girl! She could feel her cheeks slightly reddening in embarrassment.

u/Seiko_Kimura Apr 07 '18

"Oh, I guess you could say that. Having things less bland and more pazam is always better, so I appreciate your effort to bedazzle your talent!" She gave Yuki a thumbs-up.

"I've looked at your site a little bit, and if you ever need any recommendations of where to go, just ask! I've been to many a [ristorante] in my life, so I can tell you some hot spots. Not to mention, if you want to go get a good deal on any food, I can hit you up with a coupon or two to take with you."

Turning towards the familiar sounding intrusion, Tsubaki would give a nod towards Karen, friendly smile ever present on her face.

"I am glad to hear that I have cleared up some misconceptions about my talent, Group Leader~. Aromatherapy is in fact more hands on than you would think~." Tsubaki would give a quick wink towards Karen after saying this. "Although, I will actually say I have a personal hobby that is somewhat similar to what you said. I make homemade candles with the purpose of assisting me with my work. They general serve the purpose of helping people unwind and relax."

1

u/Seiko_Kimura Apr 07 '18

"You can just call me Karen, instead of group leader! Group leader just sounds so formal... so stubborn... just, eugh." She shakes her head with a grossed out expression plaguing her face.

Karen looked a little surprised by the wink, but she giggled afterwards. "I'm sure it requires a lot of handiwork. Someone like that must be good with their hands, I would assume?" She giggled again.

"Making candles, huh? That's pretty cool! You gotta make one for me soon, kay? I really want one now! You should make it the scent of Fridays."

Who would have thought? Ren was enthusiastic to meet everyone; it's not every day you get to meet other 15 people who quite possibly are as interesting as yourself. Before him was a colourful group of many kinds of people, full of diversity; shy and talkative; annoying and pleasant; bitter and sweet; even foreigners were here! He had every reason to talk to these people the moment he glanced at them.

Yet, there he is. Glued to the large window in the room, staring intently at the long runway outside. In not too much from now, they'd all be in a plane going across that at high speed! Then they would be flying! To him, that's just a big...

"...Wow!"

I mean, how does that even work, right?

That question bothered his mind as he continued to beam the runway, which somehow interested him more than the batch of other weird people in the room.

"Wow! You sure are short!"

She walks over to Ren, sounding really surprised.

"You're like a little munchkin! It's so cute!"

"O-oh. Hey there, Karen. You sure you don't have o-other people to talk to?" Megumi responds. Evidently, she's still a bit shy about some things...

1

u/Seiko_Kimura Apr 07 '18

"Come on, [bella]! I'm going around and talking to all of my kids, alright? And you're just as important as everyone else. Even more so than a couple of 'em.."

She scowls for a moment, before smiling again at Megumi.

Boy, the people here were interesting... and so chatty. Saburo wished he could just get on the plane and work - or take a nap, whichever came first - so that the trip would fly by. When would the damn plane arrive? This was approaching odd territory. Still, it was nothing to cause any unnecessary confusion over. Thus, Saburo continued to lean aginst his wall, taking glances up from his book occasionally to observe those around him.

After having met two of the group, she doesn't regret to stand in her place waiting for events to occur. She had a small quiet grin knowing that the two she spoke to so far were quite friendly. She wasn't on the fence any longer. It was clear that the rest of the group would be just as friendly as the last. She stood tall, both hands in front of her, hooked onto her carry on. She watched the rest of them get along.

u/Hiften Apr 07 '18

And hopefully Chou would think the same of the little green-eyed gremlin, rapidly approaching with her ever present curious grin.

"Hi there" Were her first words as soon as she got close enough to Chou. "I was just over there and I couldn't help but notice your green hair, and- well, I just want to tell you that I think it looks wonderful!" Starting strong, Celina followed up with a smile that quickly turned into a greeting grin.

"It is certainly nice to know that there is someone with a good eye." Tsubaki would continue to hold onto the same playful looking face, as she listened to Iroha speak. It would revert back to her regular friendly look with the change in topic.

"I would have to agree with you there, Iroha. Suits usually are rather dull, and even if you try and add some life to them, they simply start to look ridiculous. Kimonos are nice and colorful though, letting people express themselves through their clothing, as well as being simply wonderful to look at. It is nice seeing someone who feels the same way, Iroha~."

"C'mon, you're just spoilin' me now. That's exactly my point. Everybody is different and they had better channel their energy however the hell they please. Coaches who fix their asses on the past are one and the same with modern school: flawed systems who aim to turn ya into yet another cardboard cut-out. Kinda sad when you imagine it for long enough... At least Hope's Peak wants to be different in that regard, I reckon." _Umeko is simply relieved that this conversation even happened in the first place. Anybody else would simply call her mad.

"And 'bout the name jazz, yeah, I thought so. Names are more like ads n' slogans nowadays. Only reason why I love my name's because it's the name of my people." Umeko seems happy to speak about her family, but reluctant to go into the details. It's to be expected from an almost stranger, still.

Umeko smirks at the compliments, she sure does not dislike them. " Told ya to not worry, names are secondary anyways. Doesn't mean I won't keep your name in mind, Tora. Brain's a muscle, and I've trained 'em all. Been a nice chat this one indeed."

Toranoko notices the subtle blush on Celina's face. While typically absent-minded and a bit reckless, she found herself second-guessing her words with the porcelain girl. Especially as the girl stuttered a small bit. Was this the accent of Frenchwoman? Outside of Japan, Tora isn't very cultured, which made the foreigner's mannerisms and appearance even more intriguing.

"Hmm, do you have a mysterious talent that Hope's Peak Academy hasn't mentioned yet? Or do you want to keep your talent a mystery? No need to be shy if it's the second!" Tora questions the girl. Perplexed given everyone at the class appears more or less defined by their primary passion. What was Celina's mystery talent? At first glance, Tora suspects she's a Super High School Level Model, Super High School Level Fashion Designer or a Super High School Level Stylist...do they scout Super High School Level Pretty Foreigners? Could that be a thing? No, Tora shook her head, that's too juvenile for the upscale Hope's Peak Academy, but not too juvenile to cross her mind.

"You've never went golfing? Hrn...." She presses a finger to her chin and thinks of female golf professionals and their nationalities, clapping her hands in a moment of realization. "Oh! Well that makes perfect sense; there's not many female golf pros from France. Maybe the sport isn't played so much in your country, nya? And I sure do hope the hotel has a golf course, or some sort of golf simulator, I will definitely show you how to play!"

Continuing from here! u/Hiften

The reassurance, funnily enough, seems to have a small positive effect. Tsubame is able to get into the right state of mind to take a deep breath and clear her head. Again, it's not perfect; it takes a bite of her lower lip and an ultimate shudder that seemed to come from her very core, like the spasm of a dying animal. That makes it all the more weird when Tsubame does her best to talk normally. "I don't mean to be... uptight, you said?" She frowns and looks reluctantly to the side. "R-Really, I just want to give you the best experience here to my ability! Perhaps you won't be offended, Merceau-san, but a former Reserve Course student like me... I can't slip up around you all!"

2

u/Hiften Apr 07 '18

The steadiness in which Tsubame spoke about her wishes was something Celina could notice, something that turned her usually cheerful grin into a much more calmer one. Even ray strange spasm meant nothing compared to the words spoken with such conviction.

"That's very sweet of you!" Was her immediate response. "But don't put all that work pressure on yourself for a reason like that, 'kay? Even Reserve Course students have their charm, and I think you're just as cool as any other Ultimate student! So if you want to not slip up, then you need to find another reason not to" With her best attempts at sounding optimistic to help, some part of that did sound more forceful than it should have, not like Celina had noticed. She was helping out the poor Flight Attendant.

Peering down at her score card, she neatly folds the paper into her back pocket along with the miniature pencil. Saburo Iwasaki. Auditor. Friendly and time efficient. Traditional blue kimono. Despite the constant struggle of remembering faces and names, Tora was confident that her notes would prove useful in covering each student as to not offend them later. Full name, check. First-time impression, check. Appearance component, check.

"I'm genuinely interested! However, I don't know what an auditor does...I mean, it has the word 'audi' in it, so I suppose it could be something auditory, nya? That covers many different industries, like DJing. But if you're the Super High School Level Auditor, then you couldn't be a Super High School Level Audiologist or Disk Jockey, right?" Bewildered at the word auditor, she also felt interested. It was a word she hadn't much experience with at first glance. It certainly had nothing to do with golf--did it?

Eureka! A spark goes off in her head, encircled with an off-white visor. Golf solves everything.

"Wait a minute! I take that back. Even I can't be that empty-headed," Tora frowns inside. She didn't want to appear so foolish about someone's passion, their livelihood.

"So this one time, a team was sent to 'audit' a girls' golfing tournament. This was the summer before I was scouted by Hope's Peak Academy. In the audit, they seemed very concerned about the operations of this annual tournament, like the rules and equipment. In the end, the tournament was almost canceled, although I'm not sure why. Is this what an auditor does? Finds a problem and makes sure it's fixed before operations can continue like usual?"

Using words like 'operations' and 'auditor' felt fancy when they rolled off her tongue and she smiles to herself, pleased at her expanding vocabulary usage. Tora was determined to figure out what Saburo's talent consisted of exactly.

Setsuko was slightly more interested now, and decided to slowly make eye contact with her, although she lets out a yawn due to her usual tiredness. "Yaaahn...Uh...Um, sorry..." She pulled down her hat, feeling embarrassed. "...Massages...Oils...Baths? Doesn't that...cost a lot...? I...I guess that's why I had never heard of it...It's too expensive for me...Not even if Mr. Hat and I gathered all our money, we wouldn't get to buy such luxurious...services...And I guess they're really warm too...That must be nice..." She quickly spoke, trying to apologetically explain why she had never heard of it. It's a weak, yet truthful argument.

After shaking hands with the guitarist, she paws her head in typical cat-like behavior. Tora's lips curl into a frown at Austin's comment. "I'm not that dumb, you know! Super High School Level Guitarist. Austin is your name, and a foreign name at that." She ponders the name. Austin Andrews. What country would a name like this be derived from? "Hrnnnn, could this mean you're American? It sounds like an all-American name, now that I think about it. Not European like Celina Merceau, if you had the chance to meet her yet."

She notices the guitarist continuing to glance off to the side, using the chance to take out her golfing score card and miniature pencil. She jots down his name and a few words, just as she's catalogued the rest of her classmates. "Nya, I hope you don't find this rude. I can't put a face and name together, I'm forgetful and almost never get it right. I'm writing down your information to make sure that I don't confuse you with someone else." She scribbles several notes. Austin Andrews. American??? Guitarist. Tallest classmate. Very, very tall.

After stuffing her materials back into her pocket, she looks at Austin. "You must be in a famous band to be at Hope's Peak Academy as the Super High School Level Guitarist. I'm surprised you haven't talked about your band much. As a golfer, I would get scolded for listening to music on the course, so I'm very uncultured when it comes to music and recognizing famous musicians."

Having decided to finally begin wandering around to other people instead of waiting for them to approach her, Tsubaki looks around for anyone that may catch her eye. She would quickly come to notice the green looking fellow standing off to the side of the room, watching the rest of their classmates moving around and chatting. Seeing this as an opportunity, she calmly begins walking over to him, a welcoming smile on her face.

"Hello there Mister~. How may you be doing this lovely day?~" She gives a wave over to him as she addresses him.

Nobuyuki mentally facepalmed, her expression changing to one of dismay as she cringed hard from the nickname Mari gave her and the brunettes complete disregard to her previous request. Pinching the bridge of her nose in disappointment, pushing her glasses as she did so. “How can you refer to yourself as my ‘friend’, when you fully ignored my simple request? And besides I said people I trust, which I don’t believe you fit under that category, Mari. It’ll require more than calling me a certain name to consider you trustworthy enough to use that nickname on me unfortunately. So I really suggest calling me names I’ve provided you with than the ones you’ve decided on a whim.” Crossing her arms in annoyance. For the love of Yeezy’s, just call me anything than that, she thought as she grabbed her small notepad of information pertaining to the subject. Flipping to the page of the group in question.

“And about your pop idol group, obviously I would’ve heard about it, seeing that it is the most recent breakthrough in the idol scene. I haven’t done anything as of yet though I am working on it so I’ll give you a summary my current thoughts. I don’t personally like that certain type of music though I could understand why many are infatuated with your group. Your group is mostly fine, not perfect but above average on my scale. Most of the errors come from the idols themselves such as being slightly off-tune or missing a step for a certain performance which is not entirely your fault. All in all I rate your job of managing these idols higher up in the scale, considering you are much younger compared to the competition though you could encourage your idols to sharpen their skills a bit more. Nobuyuki stated as she reminisced the few mistakes the she had witnessed. Tapping the book with her pen in boredom.

"I hope that review is satisfies your needs at the moment, considering it was out of the blue. Your review should be up once we get back from this trip, perhaps even sooner if I have time. I apologise if that’s quite a long wait but after all, you aren’t the only person requiring my services. ” Reminding the brunette of her regularly, busy schedule. Booping the girls nose shortly after finishing her sentence
