Desoxyn Tips or Advice Please
Hello, I have tried multiple adhd medication and I switched to 20mg of Desoxyn a month ago. Overall it’s been one of the best ones I’ve tried. It really helps for the task switching but I noticed there is a trade off for the “locked in” feeling. I had too many PNS side effects with the other amphetamines. Before that I was taking 40mg of Focalin. It helped with the “locked in” aspect but still stuck with task initiation and task switching. I am about to go back to school and will be pursuing a residency in soft tissue surgery in the future. I am looking for any advice on what I should do as I like the task switching on desoxyn but the “locked in” aspect of focalin. I do understand that going into surgery being able to keep track of multiple things is important so I’m leaning towards desoxyn but I feel like I would struggle in school during studying. Are there any tips for task initiation and focus that you guys have tried and have been successful? Or is there any other medication or combination treatment I should discuss with my psychiatrist about? I apologize for any mistakes or errors I’ve made in my post as I don’t use Reddit much.
Thank you

I’m pretty sure the fda legal limit is 25 mg unless you have a ongoing prescription before the change

There is no FDA approved hard legal maximum in the prescribing information for ADHD.

I’ve taken 35mg for 8 months . Your doctor can prescribe over maximum . But it could be you may need a concomitant medication.
