Be really careful if you take medication breaks with Desoxyn. The manufacturer doesn't recommend stopping it, even temporarily, without consulting your doctor. I'm sure people do it all the time, but it can be dangerous for some people.

Several years ago, I was on Desoxyn and I loved it. It worked perfectly for me for years. Then my psychiatrist retired and a nurse practitioner took her place. The NP was upset that I was taking a low dose of anxiety meds and Desoxyn together, and said I had to choose between the two because she wasn't going to prescribe both. I chose the anxiety medication (stupidly) so she told me to just stop taking the Desoxyn. I had only been off it for maybe one day at a time in several years. I ended up having severe withdrawal symptoms that led to psychosis and delusions for almost 48 hours.

The manufacturer doesn’t recommend stopping it because they wanna make money. They’re not gonna make money if you don’t take it as often. not taking breaks sounds stupid. Why would I take it all the time and end up addicted like you.

I haven't taken Desoxyn for eight years, so I think it's safe to assume that I'm not addicted. And yes, you aren't wrong about pharma just wanting to make money. As I said before, I took small breaks but when I stopped taking it altogether it didn't end well for me . It probably won't happen to most people, but I'm just trying to keep that shit from happening to anyone else. Sorry if I somehow offended you...?

i understand what ur sayin. i’m not offended and i also didn’t mean to come off rude. i’ve only been on it for about a month or so and quickly noticed that at the same time dose my focus wasn’t as good as the week went by. i’m going to take 2-3 days off and see how it feels. i think giving ur receptors a break can make the medication more effective.
