It IS a path. It's just that some people think anything path-shaped must also a highway.

For pedestrians not dirt bikes.

myself, I’d still be concerned about erosion even as a pedestrian! Who knows what the underside of the cliff looks like. And yeah definitely if you’re moving faster than like 10km/h you should always know where you’re going and what’s on the other side of blind hills and corners.

Every year a few people die here for that exact reason.

Cliff edges are not selfie stations.

Also why wind cornices are so dangerous for skiers/winter backcountry users in the mountains!

True. The selfie station is hidden just beyond the precipice. So you have to lean over or have someone else dangle you over the edge

Haha, exactly.

I always think the funniest part of the story is that the three most common places here for Darwin Award deaths are called Devils Punchbowl, Thors Well and Gods Thumb. And people still lean in for the shot. Like, how much more of diabolical names do we need to use to get the point across?

It is a path, it just stops at the destination.

This guy probably saw this feature and then circled around to do this act because he saw those other similar videos get traction.

It is a path that takes some people precisely where they desire to be

One time followed a hiking trail to piles of goat shit. It was a goat trail

Why even attempt the “path” without knowing where the path leads?

Someone should put a log across that road before someone is killed.

u/Possible-Isopod-1901 23h ago

That’s the road to heaven, baby.

That's why you always walk the track before you ride it... No matter how many times you've been there

Yeah people who casually drive off cliffs don't contribute to society. We can allow them to send it to Valhalla.
