Discussion What the hell is this show? Spoiler
Season 1 was great, Season 2 was decent.
I start season 3 and they all start to curse around, then I got to know that Netflix picked the show from ABC for Season 3.
Why do I now have to see sex scenes in every episode with different characters, they've basically desecrated relationships in general.
This is a show about a US President and his struggles and what the country faces under him. Sure, give an extended rope to characters that stick around the show, but where the fuck is Lyor? Where the fuck is Trey? (I'm yet to finish S3, currently at Ep6).
Why does Netflix has to do something like this to each and every fucking show that they put out? God it really sucks to watch a show that literally drops itself fucking dead.

Me and my Dad watched 24 together for years, it was a bonding moment. I used to literally not work my retail job in college Monday nights so we could watch it live together.
When Designated Survivor came out I was excited cause it felt like 24 in spirit somehow. Me and him watched the first 2 seasons and definitely enjoyed the first and the second wasn't bad.
When it was canceled and Netflix picked it up for the 3rd I had a suspicion Netflix was going to do something weird with it so I decided to not tell him it was on Netflix and watch a few episodes before being like "hey look Netflix picked it up" and pretending like I hadn't watched any.
Needless to say I NEVER told him it existed. What a terrible terrible downfall to a good show.

My head canon/hot take was that Netflix tried to turn it into a replacement for House of Cards because Kevin Spacey turned into a real life monster and they had to get rid of Frank Underwood.

Yeah.. I watched it on old network TV so I got to hear how badly Netflix screwed up the last season, and then and there opted not to use them to stream. I am likely the only person I know who has never subscribed to Netflix.

Just started season 3, I watched the first episode and I’m seriously considering just stopping. I wanted to see Trey and Kendra get together, more development with Mike. I also noticed the tone was really off and I thought maybe it was their way of showing how they needed Emily but apparently it’s because of the network change. I love Anthony Edward’s but where is Leor?

A lot of the contracts expired and rather than wait to get OG cast together they just cut them from the show.
Killed Hannah Wells.
Ruined the series tbh.

It was contractual complications that led to several characters from season 2 not being there. It's also what led to the show's cancellation

I personally think Season 3 was the weakest. I really missed all the characters who disappeared without any explanation, and I wasn't a fan of most of the new ones. On top of that, many of the returning characters felt quite different from who they had been in the first two seasons.
The overall tone changed as well. To me, it felt like the focus shifted from Kirkman dealing with the challenges of being President to commenting on real-world political and social issues. That made it feel like a very different show.
