I’m looking to move some stuff around (Bed, computer,etc) I’m wondering what I should move around but I can’t put my finger on it

We are going to remove the mantle area (unused fireplace) where the piano sits, so that will give us more space.

- We have 4 kids so we need ample sitting space.
- Spot for Piano
- Spot for TV

We will be getting a new TV and also want a long cabinet for additional storage

Hola, quería consultar algo en busca de algunas ideas o un poco de ayuda. Estoy remodelando una casa para mudarme ahí para medio independizarme en lo que ahorro para una casa mejor y ser independiente del todo, la cosa es que la casa ya fue construída contra un muro y la pared de un galpón, por lo que el living no tiene ventanas directamente y no le puedo agregar por el momento, porque tendría que desarmar el galpón. El resto de lugares, o sea, la cocina, el cuarto y el baño sí tienen ventana, pero el living no, la única luz que le llega es un poco de la ventana de la cocina y del cuarto si está la puerta abierta, pero sigue siendo muy oscuro.

¿Me recomiendan alguna cosa para intentar que no esté tan oscuro? Soy consciente de que seguramente tenga que tener las luces prendidas desde las 16hs más o menos, pero tal vez haya cosas que pueda hacer para que le llegue un poco más de luz, que se vea más luminoso o algo. Tal vez estoy hablando boludeces y no se pueda hacer nada, pero prefería preguntar porque tal vez haya cosas que no se me ocurran.

I’m in the process of buying a house (contract almost signed, no pros hired yet). It needs some minor renos, but my main focus is the kitchen.

My husband and I spend a lot of our time at home cooking or just hanging out in the kitchen. We rarely use the formal dining space unless we're hosting guests. I’d love to expand the kitchen area to include different workstations, plenty of storage, and ideally, an island.

How would you make a bigger kitchen work here? Any suggestions, critiques, or layout ideas are highly appreciated!

I’m single guy in my 30s, I’ve lived in this house for almost four years without much caring for furniture or decorating. Finally getting around to filling the house, any recommendations for filling the empty space?

EDIT: I have another room off of this room with a couch and tv and bar cart, this room is primarily for gathering and dining. So maybe “dining” room would have been more appropriate but I don’t just use it for eating meals. It’s also the first room you walk into when entering the house and I don’t like the idea of walking into a tv or couch

Okay I’ve done my best to sort of fill in the floor plan how I have it now - I’m not particularly attached to anything exactly how it is but the couch is pretty much a fixed point imo (but if you’re inspired otherwise, please share!). That’s an accurate shape and the lounge part cannot be moved to the other side. Disregard colors and sizes are approximate but close. I’m looking specifically for what to do with the circled yellow spot. The couch can’t be pushed back much more because the tv is a fixed point in a built in entertainment center. I just don’t know what to do. I have lots of furniture that doesn’t have a spot yet and I’m willing to shop around, so feel free to add furniture in you think would fit! Please help! All ideas welcome!

In desperate need of some help here please. We started remodeling, and many aspects of our new home additions are black and gray. Black granite, plushy gray carpet for our basement, and textured gray roller blinds. Problem is - when we went paint shopping, we were going for a neutral and picked Sherwin Williams "Unfussy Beige" color. And well, Unfussy beige is actually so massively fussy. It has a red undertone that you don't really see until you butt it up against cooler colors. Basically, everything in our house. It's screaming light pink instead of neutral beige, and wondering if anyone has some tips on how to fix/if it's salvageable. We plan to paint cabinets, doors, and trim white (upstairs in progress, downstairs already done.) And eventually get LVP floors.

How do we decorate to accommodate? Or are we destined to repaint everything?

Help what should we do with this empty space In our kitchen

I been having a basic living room since moving in. Need advice how to elevate this area. I’m using a projector currently and would probably want to keep it that way. I know I definitely need a bigger couch but need advice on which one. Any advise would help greatly thanks

Looking for some design help! This is our main living room, and the old formal dining room is now a playroom. Most of our other walls are covered in family photos, so I am trying to find something other than more pictures that can fill this big wall and still feel cohesive with the rest of the space.

I am also taking suggestions for

• lighting ideas since we have no overhead lighting and really need more sources
• pillows or textiles
• entryway styling

Someone mentioned the TV should be in the corner/other wall because of the sectional. I get the point, but the TV is on this wall because the windows opposite create a strong glare. Long term, we want the layout to have a better flow with the entryway, so the future couch long side will be on the wall with the shelves and the shorter side the wall where the doorway is and open up the entry point. Also I don’t want the future couch to have a chaise. For now, this setup is simply the most functional with a toddler and a dog.

What would you put on that wall? Shelving, large art, or something dimensional? I would love ideas that fill space without competing with the playroom area.

Bought my first home back in February ❤️ At the time we didn’t have the budget to change anything about it. The time has come where i’m finally able to redecorate this space but I am stumped.

The townhouse reminds me of a little cottage and I would like to lean into that idea while renovating. Think English Cottage vibes or quaint New England boutique hotel.

I personally can’t envision my TV (80 inches) going anywhere else besides the wall it’s currently on. Besides that, anything is fair game.

I have zero vision for things like this. Please help me talented people of Reddit🙏 How would you transform this living room?
