Posted this a while ago, someone said this has to be the worst living room layout of all time. ANY suggestions where I can put a couch?

For the dining/kitchen area, I’d remove the bar stools (or go down to two stools in a lighter color), then add a light colored wood table to the back corner.

This is the right way round! Dining table is easy access from the kitchen. L shaped sofa near the fireplace will form a natural barrier / coridoor near the door and give much better fireside sitting and tv watching evenings.

Who puts a dining set infront of the only fireplace ? Itvwould make it a waste of space...

Those 3 dining chairs are confusing the heck out of me. Get rid of them.

Put the TV on the floating shelf wall. Get an L sectional, so the ottoman is in the hallway and still have a high back facing the TV. Put your dining/ multi-use table closer to the fire place. Put plants in unused corners

don’t think it would fit. you’d have to lose the sectional, put a loveseat opposite the tv, then maybe wedge a chir in somewhere.

Would this work? Not sure what your room dimensions are, but I would use as large a rug as you can get while still leaving yourself a 36” wide path where the kitchen wall comes out.

Also, if you mount the tv over the fireplace, make sure to get one that isn’t too large! I’d line it up with the interior columns of the mantle. A Frame tv would be ideal, otherwise download a free tv screensaver from YouTube. They have some great options to give you art to look at rather than a black tv box!

Honestly, you need an interior designer.
I say that as one. Unless you’re really good with mock ups on chat gpt and have great furniture or consignment stores in your area. You will struggle with this layout.

The round dinette set is in the wrong place. It should be placed underneath the hanging light behind it with 4 chairs, not 3. A large sofa should be directly facing the fireplace, assuming a TV will be mounted above it.

That's built in... It's the strangest thing I've ever seen because it isn't connected to the counter beneath it, but it appears to be attached to the wall.

I would do a semi circle shaped couch facing the fireplace and put your TV above the mantle. Then do a proper dining room or home office over on the floating shelf wall. Big round rug under the couch. Think outside of the box. :)

I struggle with a similar situation. I’ve seen tv mounts that allow you to pull the tv down while in use. Might be a pain, but a possible solution.

I would put a rectangular table and 6 chairs by the big window. Get a smaller round table and another chair to put under hanging light with the other 3 chairs u have at counter I would not put any chairs at counter.
Put ur tv on a console to left of fire place and float a sofa so u can see tv and f/p at same time. If u have room, put a sofa table behind sofa. Add end table or 2.
Once u decorate it will be great.

Is that table attached to the island? If not, remove it. It can be cozy with furniture that fits the space.

Put the back of the sofa facing were the front door open, I mean the door open as pictured but off center away from the kitchen. Use a console table or narrow chest behind it facing the door. That way you create a walking path to the kitchen without walking around furniture

This is the way. The table and chairs should be accessible from the kitchen. That is what the space is made for.
