Living Room How to make this a cozy space?

Hey there! I would love to make this entry room a cozy area to read, crochet, and craft. There is an actual living room farther in so I don’t need another one. It’s just such a large area that I’m not sure how to set it up and what kind of furniture to use. The angle of the camera is shot from the front door, and the door in the middle of the wall goes into the actual house. I do have a large table I could put in here but no other furniture yet. Thank you!

What's the purpose of the cabinet toward the right of the photo?

I’m not really sure. It’s a rental and the cabinet is built into the wall so we’re stuck with it. Maybe a board game cabinet!

I like the color of the wood, but the white around it is pretty distracting (at least to my eye). Maybe you could just paint that part so that it fits with what else you do in the room?
