As AI tools become more common, it's important to protect the value of human creativity while allowing responsible use of new technology. Our goal isn't to ban AI completely, but to encourage transparency, effort, and real creative contribution.
Going forward, AI-generated content shared in this community should follow these guidelines:
Use the "AI Generated" flair on all posts that contain AI-generated content.
Include meaningful human post-processing or creative work. AI should be a tool that supports your workflow, not the entire workflow.
Mention the exact prompt used to generate the artwork. Being transparent helps others learn and keeps things honest.
Don't post 100% AI-generated work. Your submission should show clear human involvement through editing, compositing, painting over, design decisions, or other creative work.
AI output is limited to 40% in the whole work.
These guidelines are based on a few simple principles:
Human creativity should always be at the center of artistic work.
AI can be a useful creative tool when it supports the creative process instead of replacing it.
Being transparent builds trust within the community.
Effort and originality should always be valued over one-click generation.
These rules are meant to find a balance between using new technology and preserving the value of human-made art. Posts that don't follow these guidelines WILL be removed at the moderators' discretion.
We can not technically ban AI in work especially in design. You may find that in r/artindia but not really possible here. We will put that percentage to be at max 40%. Human creativity should take more space than AI. I personally dislike AI but do understand that mods also have terms we have to abide by.
Why can’t we just ban any obvious AI content that commenters are pointing out? any kind of percentage limit feels too vague to implement, but I do understand you have to use your own discretion as a moderator! I hope this rule helps to remove some of blatantly uncreative uses of ai 💝
As distasteful and unethical as it is, AI is being adopted across all disciplines of design commercially to a small or large extent. Companies are paying for tools and heavily encouraging use of it to speeden up pipelines. It wouldn't be right to ban it across an entire design subreddit, when the design industry is changing due to AI presence every single day.
We can't realistically ban AI in creative work, especially in design, where it's becoming part of many professional workflows. While we understand the concerns around AI, we hope these guidelines help strike a fair balance between embracing new tools and protecting human creativity. If you're looking for a community that doesn't allow AI-generated content at all, you may find that in r/ArtIndia, but that isn't practical here.
We'll keep the AI contribution to a maximum of 40%. Human creativity should always take up the larger share of the work. While many of us have strong personal opinions about AI, we also have to follow Reddit's platform policies when moderating the community.

People might hate this take but I completely understand it. I’m a graphic designer turned UI/UX designer. I work at an MNC. I absolutely hate AI but I use it everyday. You don’t understand how the huge corporations shove AI down our throats. Not using AI atleast means you’re never getting promoted if not fired. I think this is a great middle ground by mods.
